NEVER BEEN INSIDE OF THE MET BUT GOOD TO SEE THE REVITALIZATION OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD THOUGH. BROAD ST IS LIVE. IF YOU VISIT PHILLY REMEMBER BROAD ST. IS CONSIDERED 14TH ST. YOU CAN HAVE A BALL ON BROAD ST. ALONG . WELCOME TO MY CITY ! DONT LET NO ONE STEAL YOUR PEACE.
Easily the best place to see a show in Philly. Its brand new and still has a new feel to it.Its well engineered in the way that the seats are positioned. People often say not a bad seat in the house but in this case, n its true.I love watching shows there. Its in a decent part of the city and you can park in relative safety.
What a beautiful place. When I moved down the street from this place I was well aware of the Divine Lorraine and loved watching its transformation. But when I found out that I was living next to such a historic place with a rich history, it made living on North Broad Street exciting. I have been to two events here already and each time I am blown away by the history and grandeur of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Opera House.
Nice venue on Broad Street. Here for the very first time. Easy access from I 95, I 676 and I 76. Parking around the corner was expensive, $35, but any parking in Philly is expensive. Nice view of the stage from the Loge. Leg room of seat a little tight, so not ideal for anyone who has some height. Very friendly and helpful ushers and other staff. Decent selection in from the concession, however it is very expensive. 2 bottles of water, 1 soda, 2 soft pretzels and a draft beer - $37.Highway robbery, if you ask me. So its a good idea to eat before you get here. Bathroomd were very clean. For the number of people here, they were spotless. All in all a good first experience.
First time at this venue. An old opera house, it has a lovely interior. The acoustics were great as well. They had good options for food and several bars that never seemed overly packed. There was parking nearby and getting in and out was pretty easy. Good artists coming through so looking forward to more shows there
Love this venue.Use caution buying seats on the sides if not in the front row. There may be limited stage views. The rest of the place offers outstanding amenities and great views of the stage. The sound system is legit but may vary by the act youre seeing. The in seat bar service is awesome in select sections.
An awesome place! We had the pleasure of seeing Dermot Kennedy at this venue. The place is perfect for artists to perform. The music carries beautifully.
The BEST shows in PHILLY!The Metropolitan Opera House is a historic opera house located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It has been used for many different purposes over its history. Now known as The Met, the theatre reopened in December 2018, after a complete renovation, as a concert venue. It is managed by Live Nation
Attended Deadmau5 Cube V3 Tour on both nights. The venue was smaller than expected, both the lobby and auditorium space quickly became crowded. Whats nice are the seating behind the GA floor for those who rather sit and enjoy the opening shows from afar. In the case of the ladies washroom, there were several stalls that, in any occasion, I never had to wait for an empty one--a great plus imo. And they were kept clean. The security check-in was a breeze and the staff were friendly. Overall both nights were filled with electrifying energy all around and episodes of witty humor from Joel!
This music Hall is gorgeous. They spent so much time constructing it and it shows in every little detail. The acoustics are amazing and it just serves its purpose of delivering an all around great concert experience.
Recently renovated this place could be the crown jewel of North Broad! Fantastic seating and great Views. Bars ok too!
First visit of hopefully many shows. This building constructed in 1908 looks fantastic. Acoustics of show were clear and nicely distributed. Looking forward to next concert there.
My first visit to the Met. Saw the Revivalists and it was an excellent show. The remodeled venue is spectacular!! The theater is beautiful inside and the finish was great. Great colors inside. The sound quality was really good too. I will definitely see more concerts at The Met!!
Awesome new venue in South Philly. Many great talents visit here. Space is big and open with many bars all around make it easy to enjoy the show without lines.
The Met was phenomenal. The greeters and security were super kind and helpful, and I know I was a pain not having my digital ticket ready! But they were very nice to me. The bar is very well stocked and I had a couple delicious mixed drinks. My bartender was delightful. There was a young woman who checked my coat and she made my night! Had me laughing and smiling. So all the staff here are super friendly and wonderful people. The venue itself is breathtaking. Its so beautiful inside and out. Seating is comfortable (they even have cup holders!) and you have a nice view of the stage from every angle. I saw She & Him, and the sound and lighting were perfect. Parking is nice and close, not crazy high priced. All in all, this is a fantastic venue. Cant wait to revisit!
Stunning building. It was redesigned very well and has ample seating. I have attended both a concert and a comedy show here and the acoustics were great in both locations (concert in one of the balcony boxes off center and comedy show in the upper level to the side) the view seems to be great from any seat as well. The cost of attending an event there is generally higher but worth attending at least once. Parking is limited in the area so I would suggest public transportation or a ride share.
Holiday Comedy Jam at the MET in Philly.A sweet treat from Santa for CHRIST-mas
I love the experience of being in the renovated opera house. I have been to two shows here (one GA standing and one seated). Both were great! I recommend looking at the Met FAQs as you can bring in your own water and snacks to a certain extent.
Great venue, beautiful and crafted so immaculate. I saw Madonna preform there and the view was amazing. Any where u sit u have an amazing view of the stage . I recommend seeing any artist here!
Saw Tim and Eric 2020 here and it was a blast! This venue was super nice. Very fun night.
Beautiful venue, great acoustics - dont think theres a bad seat in the house. Would give it 5 stars but no elevator.
We went to a Joe Russos Almost Dead show at The Met.It was our first time at this venue. Parking was a few blocks away, $30 which isnt too bad for the area. The staff at the venue was very friendly (well as much as can be with a sold out show filled with tons of hippies!)The venue was absolutely beautiful, architecture was stunning. Acoustics were outstanding, even from a few rows away from the stage, in the standing only pit area. During set break it was super claustrophobic trying to exit the one small staircase to get to the lobby/bathroom area. Bathroom was clean and well stocked with TP and hand towels. We are avid JRad friends so it is always a good show, and The Met did not disappoint!!
Revitalized a area. All over again! The Met has already played host to some well known acts and celebrities. The Mets revitalization was like changing a burnt out light bulb on a corner. Now it’s nice and bright again!!
What a fantastic place to see a show!Beautifully restored theater with fantastic sound and comfortably cushioned seating. They gouge you on the drinks(alcoholic and non) and snacks though. I guess they have to make up for the money sunk into the resto.Parking is idiotic. $60, $50, and $40 tiered parking. Prepare to walk a bit to avoid that rip off.
Nicely renovated but getting into the building itself could be made a lot more clear. We first went to the front of the building where a throng of mostly teenage girls screamed in anticipation of an excellent Billie Eilish concert. Then we noticed a completely unused side door and skipped what was easily a 700 person line, walking right in.Other than that bit of weirdness, the place is a nice venue, as it should be for the amount of money spent rehabbing it.
Went up to the Met with my favorite person to see Greta Van Fleet and we had the most AMAZING experience!! We are looking forward to our next trip up for more great performances!
Attended the Hair show! Very impressed with the building structure & decorum!! 1/19/2020
Drinks and snacks are high as heck lol.. But other than that the place is really cool. Staff and security were friendly.
First show at The Met! Came here for Schitt$ Creek, and it was an amazing time. From what i could tell, there isnt a bad seat in the house.
What can I say I love it its the best place to go for entertainment
Ive been to several hundred concerts in my life at countless venues. The Met is hands down the best indoor venue Ive ever been to. The acoustics were amazing, the seats comfortable & the building with its art was stunning. The staff were very helpful. Plenty of parking available. Im looking forward to my next trip to Philly to see a show here.
Love love love! Got front row with pit tickets. Best show and venue I’ve seen in a long time.
Beautiful place, I sat in Orchestra Box 1 and my only complaint is that there are no speakers facing this area so the sound quality could be better. Will visit again, but Ill likely choose a different location for the next visit.
When we got to the venue, everyone was shuffled inside to the main lobby before the show. Everyone is stepping on top of everyone since the doors weren’t open yet, which is to be expected before the start of any show. The problem was that most (not all of) staff couldn’t answer what time the doors would open and were generally rude. Once the doors open, we went to our seats on the g15 c1-3 level. NO ONE, (not the venue, nor live nation) mentioned that they sell tickets which obstructed views. All 3 of our seats were obstructed with a vertical beam which blocked 80% of the stage. There was a screen on the back of the stage that I thought theyd broadcast the artist onto so others in the back could see better, but nothing. Snacks & drinks are pricey but are in line with other venues. The parking was easy for us but $60 to valet is a tad expensive, especially considering they just park your car, not retrieve it for you also. The venue itself was beautiful and sounded great but everything just was overshadowed by having to stare at a beam all night. Extremely disappointed to spend $275 on tickets for this event.
I love the Met. The food thats not good. And we were seated. Was behind a post and it was hard to see But our waitress was very nice. Naomi was the most cheerful helpful person Ive ever met.
Lots of fun! Perfect blend of upfront and personal while still enjoying the concert crowd vibes!
The net itself absolutely stunningly beautiful. Reminded me somewhat of the queen but even better. Had a Art Deco appeal to it which I found stunning! However not so much the act itself which was Madonna, definitely would not see her again!
Beautifully redone north philly venue. Good capacity for anyone too popular to play at the Fillmore. Clean, several bars including in and outside the concert area. Prices are steep as expected for parking and alcohol. Parking is available on Broad and surrounding, no need to pay the unbelievable rates if you get there a bit early. If you are getting “unofficial merch” after the show get it quick! They done enjoy our local friends selling knock off shirts!
The Met is a gorgeous venue! Even from the top of the balcony, you get a great view of the stage, and the entire atmosphere invites your to settle in for an intimate show (in my case, a Sara Bareilles and Emily King concert). The acoustics are wonderful and the staff are as helpful and polite as can be. You cant go wrong with a show here!
This was my third event at The Met and I am incredibly impressed. The venue is beautiful. The seats are comfortable. Perhaps most impressive is the staff. Everyone is friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Honestly from the moment you enter those tasked with security are polite and respectful. Ive been escorted to my seats, offered upgrades. Ive seen staff work to try and unite separated parties. Everything about the Met is classy and you leave having had a wonderful evening.
Gorgeous venue. Nice restrooms. Convenient bars on all levels. Excellent sound.
Saw Mariah Carey here. Is beautiful inside. Can see from everywhere. You can get snacks and cocktails. Beautiful inside. Only bad part is lack of parking. Be prepared to climb stairs if in mezzanine areas but view is great! Loved it.
Well appointed renovation much needed on North Broad. Great acoustics. Only complaint is the seating: upright and not much leg room (cramped!)
Great theater with good acoustics for music. We brought our daughter for her 9th birthday to see her favorite band, the Pentatonix. It was a fantastic night, easy to get in and find our seats, pretty comfortable with a good view from the top tier (especially important so our 9-year-old could see), and easy to get snacks and find a bathroom. It took some time to navigate Philly traffic to find a parking lot, but the Met was awesome and we would be happy to go again.
Really cool space with amazing old Hollywood charm, but the security were pushy and not very polite. Staff inside were very friendly, sound was good, the space is clean and comfortable. Just the security made me feel unwelcome.
I wish the staff knew where seating was, we got sent from one end of the theatre to the other and climbed all the stairs only to be told to take the elevator. Its a beautiful venue but staff needs more training for seating direction/instruction.
The Met is gorgeous!Depending on where your seats are you may not have a view to the stage. Additionally, the seats are made for short/tiny people. Airlines would be jealous of the space saving this place has done.I was in the outer area and only the people in the middle section of these rows can even view the stage - and not in its entirety. There are huge columns blocking any site to the stage. I think if Id been on the floor or even upstairs it would have been fantastic. I still would have been scrunched in my seat but at least I could have seen the stage. If I were only rating on the staff then this would be 5 stars. Everyone was beyond nice.
The Met has been redone and is beautiful inside. Excellent acoustics as well. We attended the Pentatonix show within a week of the venue reopening. We would have given it done stars except they changed the time of the show and many people patrons including us were not informed. We missed nearly half the show.
Remarkable renovation that’s part of an overall transformation of North Broad Street in Philadelphia. Thanks to Eric Blumenfeld and partner, this massive concert hall is alive again with the sound of music. The details of the work are astounding. The acoustics are excellent. Both times I’ve gone, I had to enter on the side of the building. There’s no parking lot, but if you’re clever you can grab street parking. Otherwise there are plenty of public transportation options. Girard Avenue stop of the Market Frankford subway is just a few blocks away.
If you have seats in the Mezzanine you only have two options to get out. The tiny elevator or the stairs that are on the right side and the only staircase out of there. This has to be a hazard. Definitely dangerous if there is an emergency. Other than that the place was beautiful.
To Big.Sitting in the mezzanine is like being in the nose bleeds at a football stadium..As with all live Nation / ticket Master venues. Every aspect is Over Priced.Starting with the random any where from 25% to 45% of the value of the ticket, ticket fees imposed.Down to the $10 - 15 beers.Sound wasnt too bad. But that will very by act.
Saw Greta Van Fleet.Acoustics are the best ever. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Great bars. Bathrooms were spotless. Not a bad seat in the house. You have to go to the Met.
Beautiful venue, comfortable seats. Better to take ride share or public transportation there because its a far walk from parking. One elevator only, if you need it, and there was a wait for it. Really enjoyed the concert!
Came here for a Papa Roach concert. Was in the pit which was crowded and they started moshing which was cool. It was so loud that I could barely hear for the next hour after we had left.
Toured the building. Restoration nearly complete. Its magnificent! Seats 4,000.
Love this venue! Layout is great, and the upstairs bar area is super cool, we loved hanging out up there. The staff has been super helpful too the few times we were there, especially the security manager Kyle this last time, thank you for all your help!
Every time I attend a show at The Met, I am in awe of how wonderfully helpful and nice the people are that work there. Most recently I had the pleasure of meeting and being assisted by Dana, Jocelyn and Megan R and several others that I didnt happen to get their names. The Met is a first class act. Beautiful venue, beautiful people!!
Great seating and we loved that we had a waitress! Didnt have to miss any part of the show waiting in line for refreshments!
The Met is a great, old school venue.I highly recommend seeing a show there. The parking is a challenge. Plan am excessive amount of lead time to find safe, adequate parking. There is a lot, about 5 blocks toward center city. It is a public lot. The fee is very reasonable. The lot is surface parking, so if you drive a truck it is even better.
Amazing venue for concerts. He views from the upper deck are very nice and convenient and they open the floor as well to add more room. Highlight of my night was when a bird flew into the room and ended up watching the show with us from the balcony.
The Met is an absolutely beautiful establishment! And clean! And the employees are so friendly and helpful! I hope to see more shows there!
I was there for Sarah Jakes Woman evolve and it was a Beautiful atmosphere, very nice staff... I was a little sad they closed the kitchen early so we werent able to get food because it was so backed up, BUT, it was a full house. Other than that, it was an awesome venue
Fantastic venue. The seats were comfortable. The bathrooms had minimal lines, as did the bar. Waiting for merch was my only issue, but that really didnt have to do with the venue.
Gorgeous just gorgeous. I posted another review with outside pics (no phones inside for the event). Just a beautiful landmark theatre, that I absolutely recommend you see!!!
Saw Jon Bellion here. Its a beautiful theater but the acoustics werent the best. Plus the seats werent very comfortable. The staff were very friendly.
This is an absolutely stunning venue!! Classic Philadelphia architecture meets one of the finest lighting and sound systems in the city coupled with surprisingly comfortable seating. Throw in the multiple easily accessible bars that have some of the best caramel corn Ive ever eaten along with fairly reasonable drink prices (considering its a venue) and you have a spot that I see myself seeing many more shows at...
Very nice old place. I dont like using the restrooms. Call me old school but going into the same bathroom with my daughter is odd.
Gave a fiver, but those Loge seats are tight... Clean bathrooms, fantastic staff, overall a very nice experience. Well be back!
This was my first time at the Met and I was absolutely blown away. Every single staff member was professional, courteous, and very helpful. The entire establishment was exceptionally clean, even the restrooms. The live performance was phenomenal, and I cant wait to visit again in the future. If youre going to see a live performance, you cant go wrong with The Met. I highly recommend this establishment.
First visit, had a really awesome time. I felt like the venue was designed very well. It was very fun being able to converse with the people on stage, you really semmingly could be anywhere and still communicate very clearly which adds a wonderful element because really when would band or act typically do that or be able to beyond the people directly in front of them. Great acoustics, sound quality was great. I thought the projectors near the farthest seats were really high quality and a cool idea.
This place is a great place to see a show. Great sound throughout the place, and a pretty comfortable place to see a concert with the padded movie theatre stadium seating and all.Workers were kind of friendly, but the VIP valet parking seemed really shady. It looked kind of under construction, but the lot did not look much safer than the street parking, and definitely not worth $50.
Papa Roach Bad Wolf L.A. and Asking Alexandra were amazing. We got upgraded to pitt tickets and made my 11 yr old daughters night. Her 1st rock concert and we got pitt tickets!! Best night ever.
What a gorgeous venue. I remember how excited I was when I first found out they were rehabbing this gorgeous theater into a Live Nation venue three years ago. It’s crazy to think how much history and change has taken place here since it opened in 1908. Every show I see here feels so special.
Its definitely the best venue for a musical show. The sound is awesome and the seating gives you nice views from most locations. Of course the closer the better. The louge is my favorite.
Hands down the nicest venue to see a show at in Philly these days. Definitely gonna make a point to see as many bands as I can here
What a wonderful venue. Very nice and they have bars all over to you do not have to sit in line forever. Love the bathrooms too. So clean and nice. The theater itself is very nice and from what I can see all seats are good.
Good venue and our seats were great. Recently renovated and the sound was good. Bought parking, which Im glad we did, but had to walk at least 1/2 mile and it was raining. At least 5 city blocks.
Please take some time to read this review, although it is lengthy it covers several points that need to be addressed in regards to The Met. I witness The Met receive criticism all the time from concert-goers, yet any complaint is treated as people being unreasonable or are just flat out ignored by the venue.First things first I would like to say that the sound and sight-lines inside your venue are an absolute atrocity. Not only are some seats fully obstructed by hollow beams that seem to serve no purpose (which mind you, are not advertised when buying tickets) but, there are several pockets of the venue where the sound is completely unbearable. I was at the Dr. Dog show on Saturday 9/21 and my ears still hurt, I know several people who had to LEAVE due to how bad the sound was. Every single performance I have seen has been an absolute botch job, whether it be visual or audible, and has left myself and others completely unsatisfied, if not angry. The fact that your venue does not even warn ticket buyers of OBSTRUCTED VIEWS when buying tickets is beyond shameful. The way that you have been introducing premium features such as the lounge indoors, which you advertise as something anyone can attend...until you find out is a 50-60 dollar up-charge on top of an already overpriced ticket. What is most bothersome is you are introducing these premium features while cutting out basic services (such as cleanliness, bar service, proper sight-lines & sound, and just general operations of the venue). The production team you have there is completely careless, your drinks are triple the price (this is not NYC), and the venue, all in all, is just an absolute stain on the city. It is in a terrible neighborhood with nowhere to go before or after the shows, and it is quite frankly, dangerous. At this point, it would take a miracle for me to attend any events at The Met considering how disengaged your entire venue has been to the people who go to the concerts and the feedback. Those people (like me) are responsible for your name, and reputation, and let me tell you...it is not going well for the Met. Word has been spreading like wildfire to avoid any concerts there due to the points raised above. Are you really satisfied with your venue design and operations? or is bad customer service, treatment, tastelessness, and carelessness just representative of your brand? I dont believe for one minute you could or would be.Get your act together.Look at the pictures, arent you so happy customers paid tons of money to see.........a hollow beam, or nothing at all?
The Lizzo concert on 9/18/19 was great and the sound at the Met Philly is really good. I really enjoyed the show. You can tell its an old building that has been renovated and the renovations are nice and it has character. That being said, some staff were friendly and helpful and others were lack luster and gave so-so service. The food tasted so-so and the beverages are on the higher end, but thats typical for most venues. I parked directly across the street for $50 & that was very convenient, but again, it was $50. I would have given more stars if the service was consistent, the food tasted better and the seating was a little better. The box I sat in had about four rows of seats and its kind of tight to move through there the way its set-up and the waitstaff carrying drinks and food had some difficulty also. Theres a lot of stairs (and I expected that being that it is an old building). It also had some uneven spots where the floor isnt level so maybe they should add some watch your step signs in those areas. Overall if you like the historic charm of older renovated venues with great sound this may be a place for you to see a show and try for yourself. I understand that its new, but for me, I get a better bang for my buck at other venues.
Wonderful venue that gave me prohibition early type feelings to be in such a grand hall. Beautiful chandelier with bars situated in places that are convenient. Plenty of restrooms, so you wont have to struggle waiting in line to go pee pee. Security was tight, but efficient. There are plenty of entrances to get you in quickly. Coat check is available during the colder months. Quite happy that this venue is back and operational.Side note: There is plenty of street parking, but be cautious about where you decide to park. Parts of North Broad can still be dangerous.
Beautiful venue! Friendly staff. Not sure if there is parking because we did an Uber, so I would recommend that as they drop you off right in front.
Fantastic music venue! Easy to get to by subway or driving. Very friendly and helpful staff members.
Very nice. Helpful staff. Great acoustics. Hope to be back soon
The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is typically clean and convenient to use the facilities. Thats about where it ends, though.Parking is a hot mess. D lot is about a half mile walk. And the seats are TINY. If you are taller than 5ft9 or full figured, you will be uncomfortable in these seats. You can probably find a better venue.
As I was growing up in the neighborhood, the 1500 block of Swain Street to be exact, the Met was closed for decades it seems and I wasnt privay to the beauty that was within. Since renovations, the Tyler Perry Fairwell tour was my first opportunity to step into the Met Opera House...it did NOT disappoint. The splendor, work and craftsmanship that went to its rebirth was a sight to behold.
Weird Al and the Philadelphia orchestra were great!
Love the staff... love the location and all around atmosphere. This place ROCKS!!!
WOW!!Beautiful theater. Wish I knew about Performances on a regular basis. Doesnt appear to be a bad seat
The first night of boxing at the Met Philadelphia in 65 years was tons of fun. The crowd was into it, and the fights were entertaining. Drinks are on the pricey side. So, be prepared to spend $$$.
Beautifully renovated, great acoustics, & all seats in the theater have great views of the stage. Also in a part of the city with easy parking/in & out. Highly recommend for a show!
There are no lots or parking garages close to the venue so you have to find a spot on the street which turned out to work well for me, I found a spot about 3 blocks away with no meter so it was free. The venue was very nice and you don’t feel super far from the stage anywhere(I should know I was all the way in the back) some seats you are partially blocked by pillars but not terribly. I saw Chappell the so it was sold out but the security and bar tenders did well working with the crowd. Drinks are super expensive, I got a double Tito’s and lemonade for $19 and a popcorn for $7. Lastly they give you a bag with a lock on it to put your phone in so you can’t use it during the show.
Saw Deadmau5 with Lights & Jay Robinson on 1/23/20. The Met was amazing! Staff was awesome and everything was clean! One of the best venues Ive been to! The sound was perfect and it was an incredible show!!
Really beautiful concert venue! Not only was the venue superb, but the tech was as well -- really contributing to the sound and feel of the show I was there to see.Unfortunately, the show I saw utilized strobe effects and haze, and did so without posting or announcing any warnings prior to the event or during the event itself. I was unable to fully enjoy the hard work that was put into this performance because of these effects, having to step outside multiple times to avoid the strobes while still being able to hear the show and enjoy the parts that I could.I only bring this up because it is a public safety issue, and I just expected better from such an amazing and high-tech space.
