My kid had a great time! They have certain safety measures in place since reopening. They are great with kids, and its a good challenging workout.

I have been taking classes for 5 years now with Secret Circus. It has become my home away from home! The coaches, who are accomplished artists in their own right, teach classes at every level. Their lesson planning is thoughtfully challenging as well as inspiring. The rigging is safe and ceilings are wonderfully high. The community is like no other - always supportive, friendly, and fun. Highly recommend!!

Secret Circus is the best. Ive been taking classes with them for years, their whole staff is wonderful, and they take safety incredibly seriously. Dont be nervous about starting from zero - I had absolutely no strength when took my first beginner class, they really know how to build up and make it fun from the very beginning. Their Zoom conditioning classes have been a godsend during the lockdown. Their current home on Erie Ave is in kind of a weird location, but those spectacularly high industrial ceilings are worth the trouble to get there. Give it a try, its so much fun!

Recommend this school to anyone and everyone. They accommodate every level from someone who’s never taken a class all the way up someone who’s been training for years, no matter your skill level there’s something for everyone. All of the coaches are amazing at what they do and make the classes both fun and educational. Whether your looking for trapeze, silks, lyra, hammock, rope, or just a stretch class, they’re the place to go! Genuinely cannot say enough good things about this place. Having attended various circus schools and trained with a range of instructors, I can say with confidence that Secret Circus has built the most welcoming and close knit community Ive found in any gym or studio setting. The people who train here are kind and low key, Ive never experienced the drama or cliques Ive seen at other dance and circus arts studios. The teachers are the most well equipped instructors Ive ever met, Secret Circus is very selective in who they have teach both as regular instructors and workshop hosts. They are incredibly accommodating to people of all shapes, sizes, identities, and abilities. Ive never been anywhere else that I felt as safe to be myself and advocate for my training needs. As someone with a disability and as a performer in general, theres nowhere else Id rather train.

Such a fantastic space to learn aerial arts from dedicated, well trained, and artistic professionals. The space is beautiful with fantastic rigging and high quality equipment. Great for beginners and more advanced students. They were also able to adjust to COVID-19 restrictions so well - I don’t feel unsafe or like I am risking my health to attend classes! I can not recommend this gym enough.

I came into aerials with ZERO experience, I was out of shape and had no strength, but I joined Secret Circus to gain some confidence in myself. A year and a half years later, I’m doing things I never thought possible, I’m the strongest and the healthiest I’ve ever been. I’ve even opened up and built wonderful relationships with other students and the trainers. I had no people when I moved here from Chicago until I came to this school. So if your looking to get strong, build self confidence or looking for a safe place to try something new, this is the place for you.

Safety is super important and secret circus takes this very seriously. Great, very knowledgeable coaches and all levels and ages of students. Learn the basics before you try the fancy stuff, I would highly recommend this place over some other circus schools in the area.

I started taking aerials at Secret Circus in 2016 and could not be happier. I was a “noodle person” with zero muscle strength and a bit of flexibility. Not only do I have more strength and flexibility now, but I learned and grew SAFELY. This school prioritizes safety like no other, from the equipment, to making sure you are using your body correctly before advancing you to higher level skills. Good habits are formed and a true understanding of concept is gained! It is also such a wonderful atmosphere and safe space for all. I recommend Secret Circus to everyone I know. I attended classes for 6 months, until the owner told me I couldn’t attend with my service dog because it wasn’t conducive to a “safe space” for everyone. As a business, they are pretty comfortable breaking federal disability laws. So I guess if you don’t need a service dog while you’re there, it might be a good fit for you.

I LOVE SECRET CIRCUS. Amazing, passionate teachers who are dedicated to the growth of each student - I love Jackie. She is so patient and able to modify/adjust the curriculum to fit each of her students needs (I’m level one haha). Trapeze, ropes, and silks are the basics but they have other offerings and unique classes like aerial yoga, walk running, and more.Also check out their fall show, COVEN, on 10/25 & 26!

Great experience! An apt name, secret circus is a hidden gem. We had our 8-year old daughter take a friend here for her birthday. This was completely right up her alley as she LOVES gymnastics and loves a challenge to do something unique. The girls spent an hour with Glenna (terrific) and got their first experiences with the silks and trapeze. We’d definitely recommend Secret Circus. One note, we came in through a pretty rough neighborhood but don’t let that stop you. Their road and the parking area seemed fine and the unique experience is worth more than the price of admission.

Secret Circus is an amazing place to take classes. They are highly skilled, credentialed, and saftey and process conscious. (Besides being an awesome community of students and staff) its the highlight of my week. Im so glad I was reccomended to try them out. They offer really affordable one off try it classes before each session to give it a go before committing. Just an all around great place.

They are passionate instructors who are very knowledgeable of their craft. They will inspire you to push yourself and try things that you never thought you could do! Niff and Jackie are amazing instructors. They offer experience and expertise as circus instructors that other teachers cannot. Also, they care greatly for their craft and for the safety and well-being of all their students. This is a great comfort when hanging from an apparatus many feet above the ground! I would highly recommend the Secret Circus to anyone looking for lessons in aerial dance and circus arts.

My daughter and I both take classes here. Professional staff, clean studio and they stress safety. Sure you can learn cool tricks but if you arent safe doing it those tricks are only going to be cool a few times before you get seriously hurt. Build strength, flexibility and have fun doing it!

This is like any other circus school in the area. Such a welcoming community! And the areas top coaches really know how to make u feel welcome and most importantly safe. They teach on all apparatus so u learn all aspects of Aerials and the hows and whys behind them. If you ever thought about trying out circus this is the place to be!

Secret Circus is a phenomenal school for learning the circus arts. The instructors are incredibly kind, encouraging and patient. And they treat each student as an individual, modifying their lesson plans to meet people where they are. In fact, I continued training here during my pregnancy, something I would never do unless I felt completely comfortable with the coaches expertise and emphasis on safety.

Ill have been with them 10 months in October. Easily the best ten months of any fitness type class I gave ever had. I tend to be one of those people who gives up when things are hard for me but the teachers here have been so encouraging and helpful that Ive never ever felt discouraged. Jackie is wonderful and an absolute joy to have as a teacher. Dana is equally fantastic and Ive really enjoyed getting to know her more in this session. And Niff? She always has a smile and a joke. She makes you feel right at home and like you belong there. Secret Circus has come to be this little home that I never expected to find when I moved to Philly and I dont have any regrets on this journey with them.

I am very impressed by the new online class offerings as well as the safety protocols they have put in place for being able to have in-person classes during the COVID-19 pandemic (once PA and Philly went to the green stage). I absolutely would not be going there in person if I didnt trust that the staff has worked to make the situation as safe as possible under the circumstances. Mandatory masks, hand-washing station upon entering the building, hand sanitizer, temperature check, reduced class size, maintaining distance between students, and each student gets their own apparatus which is thoroughly cleaned between classes.***Amazing instructors who really know their stuff and will help you to be the best aerialist you can be, whether you are a beginner or more advanced. They are always coming up with new things to challenge their students, and are very concerned with making sure everyone is safe. I like that all classes are on a variety of apparatuses. Static trapeze is my favorite, but having the opportunity to also train on silks, rope, and lyra has made me better at trapeze! The community of fellow students is so supportive and friendly. Class here is truly one of the best parts of my week!
