Has been a great experience and phenomenal confidence booster for my son. One complaint: the school ought to invest in more and better seating (especially downstairs!) for parents/care givers. There is really no excuse for the lack, considering the tuition fees.
Circadium, Philadelphia School of Contemporary Circus, who knew? We all hear the stories about the lazy millennials. Heres a chance to see a great group of hard-working talented kids. Philadelphia School of Contemporary Circus’ Haunted Mansion. Designed, built and acted all by the students. I went to the family performance. It was great to see the students working hard to make sure the younger kids had a great time. On the first floor there are activities for the kids to do while they wait for their turn to go to the Haunted Mansion, on the 2nd floor. PSA, if youre an old man taking pictures dont go at family time you look creepy
So disappointed! My daughter desperately wanted to try the trapeze for her birthday. It took me well over a month to get the private lesson scheduled; several emails & phone calls, all with different people.I spoke with the program director who finally made & confirmed my lesson.Note: In ALL the correspondence, I was VERY clear she wanted trapeze. The day of her lesson, the instructor she was scheduled with was unaware he even had a private lesson booked!About half way through her lesson, they took a water break & I started asking the instructor questions about the trapeze, flying trapeze, aerial hoop, & their program. He tells me he is a tumbling coach, & does not know much about it; I should schedule a lesson with one of the trapeze instructors. They are top notch!I could not have been more clear as to what our interest was. I emailed/spoke with the director after the lesson & was told they would waive the lesson fee. Havent seen a dollar of that! Even emailed the director asking how long it takes to get back... no response.Very saddened by the entire experience.
We had our son’s 8th birthday here and I can’t say enough good things about it! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, caring, and patient. The kids had a great time and were active for the entire time! We had a large group and the kids were divided into smaller groups of 5 or 6, which gave them the opportunity to be participating more than waiting their turn. While everyone was amazing, I am especially grateful to Lesley, who was our guide through the planning process and answered e-mails promptly and clearly.
They give classes as well go here check it out
I just had my second VERY positive experience at the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts. Our first trip there was for a private party where we were exposed to multiple arts. My wife particularly liked doing some of the higher rope / cloth work and I latched on to juggling. A few nights ago we went in for private lessons. I did a juggling lesson and my wife did some handstand work. Both times we were there, everyone was beyond friendly and super knowledgeable about their crafts...and you can tell had a genuine care for both their craft and for teaching it. I could also see that some of what appeared to be regulars ranged from hard-core to just some people that seemed like they were there for fun / exercise. Overall if I was looking for a fun and unique workout I would def check this place out. If you are into circus arts for a living, this place is a must visit.
