Spontaneously stumbled on this South Philly gem! Really charismatic people and a very nice and clean atmosphere. They had funky May 4th specials and my girlfriend went for the adventure and got Sams Magic Sword and the Boba Fettucine. Really great prices and fun environment.

Everyone at our table was enjoying everything. Bring your hunger - portions are generous.

Can’t say enough great things about this place. I got Into town and needed a place to kill time so i stopped in for a drink and food. The bartender was very nice and the food delicious. I got the polish gnocchi with kielbasy and loved it, very filling and a reasonable price. Great atmosphere, highly recommend.

Went here on an off night, sadly it was dead due to the Birds losing (again) but the bartender was awesome nonetheless, great attitude and spirit! Nice ambience, will definitely go back and try their food (hopefully itll be busier)

Such a great little spot in South Philly. Bartenders are very nice and attentive, and they have the best french fries Ive ever had. You have to try both the cheese fries and the regular fries. Highly recommend visitng this gem

The food here is phenomenal, the vibe of the staff and the patrons is absolutely perfect, the service is great, and I couldnt be happier with my experiences so far. But really... you have to eat here; it will surprise you how excellent the food is at this little corner bar. Its 2 floors, they have a variety of scheduled events or activities if youre looking to be entertained. And the place is beautiful, inside and out.

Do you like smoked wings? Then this is the place for you. Ever since Little Lion closed down in Old city Ive been craving some smoked wings. Let me tell you folks, the Black Cat has some of the best wings Ive had. Period. The bartender Cinnamon was a peach as well. I didnt try their perogies but seeing them was a treat and Ill have to return for some later. The Earl Grey Gin makes a wonderful cocktail and the perfect day drink. Overall supremely satisfied.

Hey punk rock bartenders - if you don’t want anyone impeding on your music flow, turn off the juke box and save the patrons money.

Great craft beer selection and the kielbasa is excellent! It’s nice to have lunch and a beer and it’s not crappy pre frozen bar food. The tomato soup is also very good. It’s what my mother would make on a special afternoon. Nice location. I highly recommend.

Its a great neighborhood bar with great service. You can go alone and not be lonely. Youll have people to talk to.The only bummer is the food portions are tiny and the food way overpriced. They have a very small menu, showcasing a few polish crowd pleasers. The kielbasa burger is tasty but we were all still hungry after eating the tiny sandwich and barely-there side salad. Definitely not worth $12. Since we were still hungry we ordered the pierogi which were nothing to write home about either, and $$$. If youre only going to have a few menu items, make them memorable and fantastic and large enough to fill your tummy, or cheaper to match portion size. The kielbasa burger is the same size as Fountain Porters $5 burger.

Stopped in for a Bloody Mary and some lunch and was not disappointed! Fantastic made-from-scratch bloody, crazy delicious burger and super nice and welcoming staff. Will definitely be going back.

If you’re looking for a bar with relatable weirdos and artists that understand the south philly neighborhood, then black cat is for you. But also, black cat is for everyone.LOVE the beer selection and the chill atmosphere. They have a pretty good vegetarian selection on the food menu, but because they’re in south philly, it’s kind of hard to not have more non-veggie options than veggie.I also love the personable staff and how they play weird movies during the week nights. It’s just a cozy space that leaves you not wanting to leave. Def would recommend to folks who are trying to have a relaxed drink after a long day of work.

Food was delicious. Keilbasa burger spot on. Portions were human and didnt leave us feeling like we would burst. Different than small. Just right .Staff super friendly. Mixed us bloody marys to order from scratch, and they were perfect. Offered us tomatoes from his moms garden .Relaxed and friendly, good food Whar more can you ask?
