It is a hodge podge of everything you didnt know you needed. I went in not knowing what I find and realized I could get gift ideas, home decor, crafts, full sized mannequins, fabrics, and cast iron screws, which I did need. The people are charming and kind and theres a feeling of excitement and relaxation when youre there. I will definitely be going back when I figure out what will fit in my house.
This place is awesome!! Their at a new location now, but the same great staff and vibe. The exchange gets most of their stuff from film shoots or theatrical productions. Almost any thing that an artist or crafts person would need or want can be had from here. But this is not an actual art store. Its much, much more than that. Just to mention only a few things, carpets, tiles, hardware, wood, paint, housewares. This is the first shop that I have ever described as a must see, better yet, The Resource Exchange is simply a must go. There are too many things to remember, so make it an adventure and take a friend with you, make an afternoon of it. Last but not least, by any means, the prices are amazingly reasonable,so go, find out for yourself.
A great place to find secondhand art supplies! Cant wait till this pandemic is over so I can scour the marker selection again
Maybe someday when they have more it will be more impressive. Now sorta meh.
Awesome place, they have stuff from the cast of the movie Creed. Its really good stuff at excellent prices and very nice. I went in & bought a lot of stuff. Had my eye on the desk called the secretary, looked perfect for only 300, but sadly i dont have the $. Still the price is right.
Re-cycle, Up-cycle Re-use, Re-[whatever verb you like] never had been before but if you want donated home pieces, movie props, art stuff, books, glass, [currently] Creed props, MTA Subway turnstiles, Birch Tree trunks, china, etc... come peruse. Fun, but can be overwhelming if you dont have a clear focus -like me just recently. Enjoy : - )
Well organized, everything is clearly priced, fun stuff from movie sets, lots of fabric and yarn, some archectural salvage, fun designer accessories, art and office supplies, super helpful, professional staff.
You never know what youre going to find here and thats part of the fun! I love the concept of reusing the materials and getting a good deal at the same time.
I love this store! Ive gotten so many great materials fromfabric to drift wood and art supplies among the many othertreasures in this store. Everything is well organized and pricedfantastically well. The employees are so helpful and friendly.
This place had a little of everything at great prices. I came in for decorative paper and they had a good selection of 12x12 specialty paper for 10 cents each. They also had a great selection of fabrics and yarns and even postcards that I couldnt help perusing for ten minutes. Be careful in this store. Before I knew it, I had spent $25, but I am very happy with everything it got me.
Well organized, lots of stuff worthy of using to make other stuff, major departments include crafts, furniture props (furniture used in movies) and some housewares.
Just moved to the town last month and stumbled on this place by accident. This place has it all though, and the people that work there are really friendly. Its a well curated warehouse of cool stuff for you to show some real style in your home. Picked up a brand new light, a shell, some bowls, a burlap sack and clay bird feeder for the new home and feeling good about it. Highly recommend this place!
I LOVE this store! They are EXTREMELY well organized and have a very well curated selection of art supplies, craft supplies, vintage items, home decor items, sewing supplies, knick knacks, home repair supplies, etc. I am very passionate about recycling and reusing, so I deeply respect and admire this place, but also that the selection is great, worth the price and very professionally maintained. I regularly donate high quality art supplies and will go out of my way to donate to this establishment. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to donate supplies OR anyone looking for a really unique shopping experience.
Our first stop for all things craft and construction. The Resource Exchnage is a big open warehouse space filled with incredibly well organized reclaimed materials, much of it coming from theater and movie sets where stuff gets tossed when the show is over. Rather than ending up in a landfill The Resource Exchange takes it in and makes it available on the cheap. Anything from home goods, art supplies, lumber and hardware to fabric remnants, sewing supplies and furniture. Its an dandy spot with fun vintage goods and raw materials for any project you can imagine. And if you email pics of your project theyll send you a discount code for your next trip in. Cant say enough good things about this place. You should check it out.
Absolutely amazing place. If you are a crafter you will find at least one thing you need but didnt know you needed.
This place is wonderful! Excellent prices! Sewing Notions/ Fabric/ Artwork/ Oil paint-Acrylic Paint/ Wood trim/accent pieces (some church pew ends). Some antiques and Vintage piecesRentable itemsIts worth a stop!
Something for everybody if mid-century bric-a-brac is your style.
Its always a wonderful experience when i visit there always unique finds and everytime friendly service.
Interesting variety of recycled items, esp sewing & crafting things. Hardware, housewares too. On the street parking.
This place is awesome, they have everything from fabric to lumber
Lots of neat items that you would not normally think you would find here. They also have gift cards if you are looking for a vool present for someone. :)
So many great finds in this place for such great prices! They have all sorts of things: frames, office supplies, furniture, fabric, books, tools, craft stuff, lighting fixtures, cards, mirrors, etc.
With an inventory based on donations one might assume to find modest prices. This is not the case. Every item seems to have crawled from a dust bin, thru an appraisal search engine and onto a bric a brac that offers up obnoxious fees. Expect the bored looking employees standing at the front of the store to disassemble from their silent conversation shortly akwardly welcoming you into the store. They will then not so subtlety surveil you, the new patron by following you around the store prentending to dust, rearrange shoeboxes, organize buttons in jelly jars, etc, etc. Apparently srutinizing potential customers is almost as fun as ebaying the value of second hand junk?
Awesome place to pick up odds and ends for most any DIY project
Lots of really interesting stuff, well priced, and really helpful/friendly staff!
Ive found lots of good stuff here.
This store is amazing. You can find so many things here and it is really cheap.
Been coming here for years, huge variety of items at great prices. definitely one of those places to go to often as their stock changes frequently.
