First non five star review. We finished our first nine and then the person who manages the tee times drives over to us at the tenth green to lecture us. Note, he did not ask a single question and was accusatory the entire time.He told us how there were “members” playing behind us and how he had told us that we can’t drive off the cart path. Here’s the thing, he never told us any such thing. Why? Because instead of telling us that when he had the chance, he was chatting it up with those same members.Look, if he comes up to us and ASKS if we know the protocol we would have said “no, but now that we know, we are happy to honor the rules.” But he didn’t. He instead flexed his “power” and gave us a “warning”.We paid $47 for 18 with a cart. It’s worth about $30. If you want to be chastised, go ahead.
The condition of the Front nine was ok, back nine was terrible. The traps were dirt with weeds. The ladies room in the clubhouse was smelly and nasty. Charged a fee to use credit card. Didnt notice that till I got home. Much better golf courses to play in the area. Dont recommend.
Course was in great shape. Had a good round. Enjoyed a couple of beverages afterwards. Aimee is a sweetheart that works the bar. Would go back there just to have the food and beverages. She is just a joy and enjoys her job and people.
Carts are very weathered. Coirse was in decent shape. Great wildlife spotting on this course.
Decent challenging course. If you like wildlife as well this is the spot for you.
Decent golf course - wasnt as much clover everywhere as the prior year - back 9 was in good shape. May try a visit next year, but they ruined me this year. Apparently a rain check to them means you pay for the holes you played already (got rained on on hole 3? you pay for 2 holes to come back). Cost was $18.50 for the first 9 early, but if you change your mind and want to do 18 - before you even tee off, that was an additional $22.50. One can of soda, on water bottle and cup of ice runs $10.25, so $12 with a tip - I thought I was at a brewer game at those prices.
Decent golf course in fairly good shape, however riding golf cars are marginal at best due to wear & overall condition.
Terrible shape for the money. Sand traps rock hard dirt! Dont waste your $$
Course was not in good shape at all. It had rained the night before and none of the carts were wiped down prior to using them.
Great little course. Well kept greens. Good place.
Super good had a 48
Greens were decent, for the price, fairways and rough were pretty bad
No AC in club house is ridiculous uc
Great golf course, great conditions and great staff!!!!
Good course for the peice
Not the most difficult course but fun. In good shape. Small club house. But good food.
Nice course, not rushed easy to play tuff to score
Course is moderately well kept. Could use some watering and general house keeping. Club house is not in good shape.
Nice course for the lower tee price. Rained overnight and carts were all soaked, so bring a towel with you! Plenty of water to get yourself in trouble with, like I did!
This golf course is a gem, once again, for the Pewaukee/Waukesha area. The people who bought it a few years ago have done a terrific job improving the course to make all 18 holes play really nice. This course is perfect for Seniors, women, and youth, small enough to enjoy, challenging enough to hold your interest & create desire to improve next time!I hear talk of taking this course from us to put in more condos and some youth sports complex and I am truly saddened by this. What a tremendous loss it would be to the area. I know there are ups and downs in golfing popularity but you can not get it back once it is destroyed. This is an animal sanctuary, a human stress relief sanctuary and fun close by for women, seniors and youth. There are short courses and long courses around, this course is perfect in between those. If this course survives the next great plan of the decade……I hope you come out and play, you will have a great time! Keep playing Pewaukee Golf!
The staff is friendly and the course is very nice if you are looking for golf in the Waukesha area. Easy on/ off the highway as well.
Over priced. 45 for a cart and green fees? About 20 bucks over priced.
I dont golf I just work at its other course SSGC
Its just outside my hotel window. Looks interesting but I didnt play it.
This course was really a disappointment. Normally I would not complain about a course but feel that it was grossly overpriced. I play many courses in the greater Milwaukee area and feel this is one of the lowest in quality and yet was rather expensive. I had multiple balls on the fairway sitting in large patches of crabgrass, tea boxes were covered in crabgrass, and were not at all maintained. Large undulations in multiple tea boxes made for uneven footing. Parts of some holes on the fairways were incredibly rough and bumpy. In addition to the quality of the course, the management put out multiple twosomes intermixed with foursomes all around similar times. Good courses would have paired them and been careful on starting times. The groups in front and behind me were all keeping a good pace but too many groups were put out close together. The starter was nowhere to be found the three times we passed the first tee area. For less money, a much nicer course could be played in the area. I will not be back.
Nice course in great shape.
Bartenders are awesome
A fun course to play. Very walkable. Not difficult. A few challenges. Driver then 7iron or less for par 4s. Ample room in the rough but out of play completely along the densely grown up areas. Fair price.
Pretty wet used to be members it gone downhill last few years unfortunately
Fun golf course, great food and beverage and wonderful lessons
I wanted to mention a recent round I played..I got to the course at 5:30 or so, and the gentlemen at the counter (Mike Birchfield) was concerned about speed of play due to the fact that he put out a lot of golfers in the prior hour..However, He was able to get me out at a hole that allowed for efficient play and I was able to complete 9 with no issues prior to sundown.Kudos to Mike for knowing the course, where the congestion was and insuring I have a good and efficient round! Thanks Mike!!!I play almost weekly and will continue to..Especially with a guy like Mike able to provide personalized efforts, in order to insure I get my weekly “fix” of golf in at Willow Run!!!Thanks again.
My wife and I played 9 holes after work this week. We thought the course was in very poor shape. The fairways on the front nine have weeds and broadleaf grasses growing everywhere. We were wondering if the course put down fertilizer this year. The green at hole number six had so much goose manure on it we couldn’t even putt. The golf carts have old black mold spots all over there seats and the straps that hold your bags on had moss growing on them. Course was in much better shape in past years.
This is an OK golf course. It has new management as of last year and the course seems to be in better shape. The club house and bar prices are higher now however.
One star because it is better than not playing. Here is the best way I can describe the course: if they said I could play there for free for the rest of my life, I would pay to play anywhere else. The course is in the worst shape of any golf course I have ever played.
Nice course. Tee times are readily available. Great price, especially for seniors.
Pewaukee golf club is a solid course. If you can find a hot deal its for sure worth it. Big driving range on real grass. The pro shop doesnt have a lot, but the staff is usually friendly. It can get jammed up after work, but its a nice course that has some challenges. PGC is pretty long and open. Greens were in good shape. I enjoy playing here.
I know its early in the season (3/28/18) but the guy at the counter just sold me a small bucket for the driving range. I walked up to the range and theres no seats or signs up at all, just an open field. Why did you sell me a bucket and send me up to an empty driving range? Waste of my time. I went back in and got my money. He said he knew they werent up there. Might not come back here again.
Course is average
Sub Par...Pardon the pun! But cmon guys you can do better. The guy that runs the pro shop is a complete jerk. He was extremely rude with me and made purchasing a gift certificate so much a chore i walked out and have never been back since.I have heard they are going to make this course a Country Club. If that is true, the new management will need to clean this operation up quite a bit!
While this is not a destination course, it is well-kept, challenging, and staffed with friendly accommodating people. We had a great time, and will be back.
Played this course last week. It was very enjoyable. The greens were very true I putted better than I have all year. I will return to this course again this year.
Very disappointed with 1 staff member. We reserved 2 foursomes and ended up only having 6. They over booked and then got made like we were the ones holding up everyone even thou we had to wait at every hole for people in front of us. We let a 4some and 2 couples skip us hoping to help the hold up but we still had to wait at every hole. I dodont mind waiting. It happens but to have an employee drive up in a cart and start screaming and cursing at us out of no where was so unprofessional. And when the men in our group said he had no right to talk to the women that way. He said he wanted us to leave. Yes is very lucky he didntt get his ass beat! Do a background check on your employees for anger management issues before hiring. Wont go back again. The bar tender and front desk staff were great.
Nice little course, Rob Elliot the golf pro is very helpful
Nice course good for beginners or bad golfers.
Course conditions were excellent. Friendly staff and moderately priced drinks.
Course conditions very good. Pace of play excellent.
Lovely course other than the rain!
Western lakes prices for moor downs quality golf well actually the grass here is much worse than moor downs
We enjoyed this course, especially for the cost of the Groupon! I hope they offer another one!
Good course with good prices for the area. Many holes are low lying and retain water making for some soggy golf if theres been rain recently.
Indoor golf wkith great golf instructors
Thanks to Willow Run for the great time we had on our Meadowbrook Village Golf Outing 7-11-15 !The staff was very helpful and friendly and the course was in really nice shape. Really enjoyed it!Ray and Molly Kurian
Nice course. Well maintained. Reasonable prices. Also, we always see wildlife.
Frustrating experience this morning on the course. Course greens were fairly well maintained, fairways were not. There was a starter on the course who put a group of golfers (going 9) right in front of us (on #10) as we were making the turn. Afterwards I talked to an individual in the clubhouse about it who did not seem to care.
Why would you go to Willow Run when you could go to Western Lakes, Fairways of Woodside, Silver Spring, Kettle Moraine, Morningstar, or a million other golf courses that are far superior. For those of you that are going to go anyway after reading this poor review lets just say, I told you so.
The golf pro here is the most unprofessional I have ever experienced!! My partner and I came out 3 times last year to book an outing for our tavern. Which they have a sign as you pull in saying book your Buisness golf outing today. Yet all 3 times the golf pro couldnt give us an answer at ALL on what to charge us and never returned a phone call. Haha pewaukee golf club your lucky ur close to Waukesha or youd of been out of Buisness years ago!!
We went to celebrate my buddys birthday yesterday afternoon at Willow Run / Pewaukee Golf Course with 3 other close friends. We play 2-3 times weekly, its what we do ! ....Lets check out the NEW Pewaukee Golf Club !! (We played there MANY times when it was Willow Run)As I went to the bar to purchase beverages for our little party I was immediately rudely reprimanded across the entire lobby for not having a collared shirt...(REALLY !?!?!) FIVE minutes later on hole ONE, we were rudely reprimanded for driving our carts on the fairway (complete dry fairways BTW) We did not see the cart path only post card posted on the front door.......As this person was loosing his mind for driving on the dry fairway, we were THEN told we could NOT have 5 players together....Again, this guy was very VERY upset and loosing his mind, we were blown away by his demeanor....We explained to this YOUNG unexperienced EMPLOYEE that we would like to play as five because of the B-DAY celebration and that there is NO ONE BEHIND US that would be affected by this. As he drove away mumbling, we kept playing.....As we teed off on hole three, we were confronted by 2 older Pewaukee Golf Club employees (that were hiding in the bushes) .....As the F-BOMBS were flying from these reckless old farts and their unrelentless torment to break up our little party, they told us to Pick up your balls, youre DONE....All of our jaws DROPPED to the floor in utter disbelief.....We went back to the clubhouse and debated this unbelievable circumstance. We demanded our money back but was denied !!I have been golfing in the Lake Country Area for 25 + years......I have NEVER, i repeat, NEVER had an experience like this at any local golf course. It was embarrassing and horrifying to say the least. We immediately called NAG and they got us on immediately. After explaining our circumstance and the torment we just experienced, they let us play our round of golf with five guys and for NO CHARGE !Thanks NAG...See you this weekend !
Decent course
Ok course, seen better days
Possibly the most overpriced course Ive ever played. Ridiculous pricing.
Course is ok. Service is good though
Fun course cheap too
It was okay really wet
Great coarse
Poorly maintained fairways made me feel like Alan Shepard.
Very nice course.
Course always seems flooded. Poor service- avoid
Good staff
Great game
Good
Used to be OK for the price. Now after raising prices and eliminating twilight it is very overpriced. Lots of crabgrass.
