Beautiful area. I camp at. Every 5 yrs igo there.
In these times where we arent socializing like normal.. this is a magestic view.. all brought to us by a nice ride in the gator.. Beautiful Mountains.. clean air.. fantastic day..
Stayed a week at the Bear Wallow CG. Enjoyed every single second of it. Very much off the grid. No cell, no wireless network, not even 3G.
The blue mountains of Oregon are amazing and beautiful and full of some of the worlds most beautiful creatures.
Great food, the wildlife is delicious. Great company although the animals arent great for conversation. Ill be back for sure.
People seem to have lost all respect while using our beautiful forests. We recently encountered people dumping their black tank without burying it in a campsite; using ATVs to tear up pristine meadows and riding roads that are closed to motorized vehicles; and leaving garbage. A few bad apples will get everyone kicked out of the forests.
Beautiful, diverse forest with plenty of space to get away from it all. 1.4 million acres of land owned by the American people and managed by the US Forest Service with offices in Pendleton, Walla Walla, Pomeroy, Ukiah, and Heppner. Some highlights include the fish derby at Jubilee Lake, hiking the North Fork Umatilla Wilderness, camping at Umatilla Forks campground, hiking to the Oregon Butte lookout tower, and skiing at Ski Bluewood resort. This National Forest offers rangelands, open Ponderosa pine savannahs, dense dark grand fir and Engelmann spruce forest, and rocky, windswept mountaintops. The Forest Service employees manage wildfire, forest health, outdoor recreation and education, water, wildlife and vegetation, cultural heritage, & law enforcement on these public lands.
Been here many times. Amazing views of the ridges at the top. A lot of regrowth since last time I was there. Absolutely beautiful place.
I am more familiar with the Washington portion of the National Forest. The mountains are unique in that they make up a giant basalt-layered plateau cut with deep canyons. The forest appears to be horizontally striated because of the eroded layers. Skyline Drive makes a fantastic exploration in summer. Great hikes abound. Oregon Butte makes a scenic early summer hike.
Its so beautiful! Were so lucky to have this as pretty much our backyard!
They do a great job keeping everything clean and organized
Love riding in the vastness of the Umatilla National Forest
Breathtaking views. Various camp sites. Beginning of fall seems like a good time to go open spaces. Plenty of space for really roughing it if you like. Dont forget to dispose of trash properly. Lets keep it clean!
Had an excellent time. Had a great morning fishing with 6 Fly Ranch Guides. James Nash is great guide. So glad we got to fish.
A great way to spend the 4th
Road closed 1 5 miles before Umatilla Forks Campground. Beautiful spot in Oregon, though
I love camping and fishing but sadly there arent many fish so it gets kinda boring after a while but I still love it
The best place to dissapear for a day or two.
Gorgeous as always! Use your public lands or lose your public lands!
Great adventure hiking, camping for the entire family.
Awesomeness since i know people who own landBeautiful it rained its awesome
Best huckleberry picking all year!
Beautiful place! Camped and enjoyed it.
Nothing better than being out in the woods friends and family good times
Great drive with the kiddo! Good walk and silence
Took the shortcut thru the forest... beautiful, but it didnt really qualify as a shortcut
What a wonderful place!Umatilla National Forest is amazing! Jubilee Lake Campground is wonderful. Amazing ridgetop praries (?) meadows (?). The highway from Tollgate to Elgin was fantastic!Go to UNF, you wont be disappointed. Great little store in Tollgate and on the east, Elgin is a neat little town with a great feel and super friendly people!
Big Creek 4/25/19
This review is for the Tucannon River trail.Any day spent outside is a great day, even in 105° temperatures. This hike was a bit cooler, being near the Tucannon River, but, as much of the way is still exposed, it was hot. Plenty of places along the way to cool ones heels, though. This is a walk in the woods and well worth it. Solitude is assured and wildlife abound. Deer and wild turkeys were encountered as were an incredible number of butterflies. Some nice campsites along the way. Blueberries ripe though a tad tart. Be forewarned on the drive there: once you reach the fork the road is incredibly rough and rocky.
Gorgeous park and great camping!
Trails are maintained beautifully
Love this forest with its majestic canyons
Great place to enjoy on a hot day.
Beautiful country love it up there!!
Grew up in these mountains, hunting, fishing, camping and picking mushrooms and wild edible and medicinal plants.
Nice forest with lots of roads for full size vehicles.
Ive seen better...
A good forest. Theres trees and everything.
If your looking for quiet and a little solitude, away from the hustle and bustle this is the place to be. Good hunting and fishing at the provided ponds. Id give more thumbs up but I only have 2.
Great climbing crag with several single pitch sport routes. Easy 2 minute approach and youre there.
My favorite place In oregon hands down. Hunting, fishing, hiking, photography, wildlife watching. This place has something for you
I love the outdoors . jubilee Lake... summer 2017
Great usfs public land for fishing hunting, and camping.
Great place to see the great outdoors!
No people, plenty of wildlife. 10-10 for peacefulness.
Beautiful!
Beautiful day top of mountain June 5th
Beautiful place to experience the out of doors. Fishing, exploring, and quality family time.
Amazing place to camp and refresh.
You can get away from the Corona and less youre drinking that beer
It is beautiful ️
Beautiful.......
The woods are beautiful this time of year.
Such a beautiful, peaceful place to hang out for a day...
So much to do. Driving some of the roads you will need a skid plate or just stay on the main roads. I was up over 6000 ft
Beautiful part of Oregon, we enjoyed a week camping at Cutsforth Park.
Amazing thee mile hike up to the crystal clear Lake. So beautiful and worth every second
Another Oregon stunning National Forest. Nowhere will you get more ticks so keep head covered but the views are magnificent
Fun couple nights and beautiful weather
A beautiful and breathtaking place!
Im the middle of cleaning up after forest fire so lots of debris piles. Camping areas still available though. Forestry services are working on weekdays so pretty noisy.
Outdoor fun the whole family can enjoy...
Great place to wake up
Lonely stretch...
I didnt really get to stop and enjoy the park as much as I would have liked to, power for driving through the park was beautiful and as far as I could tell on this trip that was well maintained. There were a few Vista points you could pull off and take pictures which was nice because not a lot of parks have that option. The roads in this area are also fairly good.
Drew elk tag, wish I could have spent more time had never been to the area its beautiful!
The forest is always amazing. The views are majestic from the mountain tops, and the wild game is plentiful.
Love it! Cant wait to come back!
Super snow and had a great time!
Beautiful area to relax and enjoy . Great camping area.
Because of the beauty of the Evergreen National Forest. Wildlife viewing is at its best. Seeing birds, raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, Bobcats, lynx, deer, elk, etc.
Beautiful scenery.
Went mushroom hunting today. Didnt do very well. Ground temp is still too low. It was really beautiful, though. Wild flowers are just starting to pop up
Such a beautiful place
Great escape from city life
Very beautiful scenery plenty of places to fish camp and hike just make sure to get to know the area before exploring too much
As a member of the OYCC and a supporter of the United States Forest Service I can say that this is one of the most beautiful forests I have ever seen. There are plenty of campgrounds here that offer everything from ATV and bike trails to some of the most beautiful hiking trails Ive ever had the pleasure of experiencing. I would recommend that you explore Olive Lake.
Everyone needs to escape once in a while..this is the place to go
Amazing!! Love living here. I get to go up here whenever I want. The forest is well maintained. The trails and riding areas are amazing.Only critic I have is that there is trash everywhere. I pick up what I bring in and more but people are slobs when it comes to the mountains. Unfortunately.
Whats not to love about clean rivers green forest and blue skys
Open space and not a lot of people
Awesome...
Very beautiful area! If you are wanting a nice area to camp or a great place to explore and be out in nature, this is the place! It is peaceful and just beautiful. Recommend it to anyone who is a nature person!
Beautiful hidden gem.
Plenty of privately owned land open for camping as long as you clean up. Beautiful way to start a day its wake up with the sun in top of a mountain.
Loved it. Great setting for a family picnic
I need to teach myself to bring water I never want to leave. Next weekend we will go again this te all the way to the river... will post more trail photos
Pulled off the road, drove into the forest, camped according to the dispersed camping rules, saved $100 on a motel. It was a nice night. Google asks me for the most random reviews.
Great place for huckleberry
Very pretty.
Beautiful lots of wildlife and Quiet
We used to camp up near immigrant springs for family get togethers and this forest is beautiful. Even in the summer its nice because its cooler up in the mountains and theres plenty of shade. Definitely somewhere Id like to explore more of when we get the opportunity to go back.
Some of the most amazing views Ive ever seen.
