Great place for fishing if you have a boat. You fish in the middle of the river and you will catch big fishes. I suggest one thing is that everyone going fishing get a fishing rod that can hold 10lbs or more otherwise you going to deal with money and time to fix the hook or replace the hook. It’s a lot of though. I’m not meaning that it is a lot of fun to replace hooks though . But it’s fun and awesome for families to go boating and fishing.

There are some lovely lavender plants everywhere. The splash pad is alot of fun. The have clean porta pottys. If you sit long enough you can watch the trains drop off to the barrages. It is a nice place to sit and watch river traffic.

This place is a good place for families to hang around or take their time off. Me and my go there boating sometimes cause it’s a pretty fun place. You can also fish in that area if you want. We’ve tried fishing on the boat before but the water is moving too much so there won’t be much fish too catch. So yeah, I just saying that it’s a big place for families to go boating do other things like that.

Well laid out walking area with plenty of parking. Down side is no restrooms

My kid loved the splash park. What he lived the most was interacting with other children from under 2 threw teenage kids and a lot inbetween. The river water is way up and the bugs were bad for me. The water for not shoot up as high as it once did. I hope they are doing maintenance on it so it doesnt become another thing of the past.

This area has its upsides and downsides. The new spray park was a nice addition back in its day. The shelter area and playground are nice, but small. The bathrooms are open maybe 50% of the time. The city bike/walking trail runs there, but its a wreck...just like the roads in town. Theres AMPLE boat trailer and car parking all along the river and above the train track. The pier areas are nice...when its not flooded. Fishing and boating can be okay in the right conditions. Beyond the view, only a very small portion of the community will find this area enjoyable once they exit their vehicle. The city does not utilize this space properly in the least. A lot more can be done here but I doubt it will in any of our lifetimes. It would be nice to have some community events on that part of the riverfront at night (or during the day even) but theyve decided to leave it to the hoodlums of town when it gets dark. Its a shame really.

Love that I can sit in the pavilion and charge my phone watching the river and people fishing

There was so much trash piled up in the garbage cans. The smell was pretty awful, other than that I would have gladly gave the park 4 stars.

Nice quiet little place to take the family fishing on the Illinois River

Lived here my whole life & never visited. Great place for kids!!!

This is a wonderful place for family gatherings! It has a beautiful backdrop with the river close by, and just a 2 minute walk if you want a closer look. Theres a good sized and VERY fun playground and 2 decent sized covered areas to have a party, cookout, or gathering. Last but not least, the water area is a TON OF FUN for kids of every age and adults alike! The ground sprinklers go off randomly and its all basically enclosed for easy monitoring of all of your kiddos. Pekin Riverfront Park is also VERY clean and well manicured. The best part...its all FREE! You can rent out the covered areas for next to nothing. But if no one has rented it already, you can have a party there for free. This is a GREAT TIME, ESPECIALLY if you are on a budget!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEKIN RIVERFRONT PARK!

Flooded at the moment water over the railroad tracks in spots .. docks washed out .. still a great little place to sit and watch the water while maintaining social distancing.. get out and look around the world is still out there

Little man had a lot of fun today...which means we did too!!!

The fountains are a good place for the kids to keep cool during the hot summer days. They need to put some bathrooms closer. Our trip was cut quite short due to an accident that could have been prevented if the bathrooms were within a short walking distance.

We were fishing by the bridge only caught little gar no catdaddies

Nice place for a walk, ride, watch the sun set or take the family on a picnic.. Use your imagination sure theres a little something for everyone.

Could use more live events like Peoria does on their riverfront. It would help increase popularity. I enjoy being there.

Awesome place to relax

Catfish minimal... Carp, perch, drum dominate on bank, may be the bigger fish are down river... most likely. Caught a couple, just didnt have bait for the bass type or carpie type fish. Need better fishing access to river, and landings in general.

Nice scenery but has unpleasant smell

Nice overlook. Water fountain for kids to play, walking path and information plaques. Playground nearby.

If its not flooded, its a decent place to park and eat ice cream during sunset. Occasional riverboat traffic cruising by. The new fountain area is a nice addition for families. But, between the smell of nasty river water, dead fish, and the corn products plant (depending on time of day and wind direction) not much fun to be down there.

Good place to fish if you dont mind listing to traffic over the bridge

It was a hot day when we stopped by at the park. Our grandsons loved to watch the boats and feed the seagulls!

I took my son and he absolutely loved it. Plenty of shade for parents to sit while little ones play.

Pekin Riverfront Park ( one of many in the area ) is scenic, relaxing, and safe all year round .I often times walk with my companion Daren the Baron .and pick up after him of course . There are some pet owners that dont bother .

Great park and start of the bike path. Seasonal water jet area. Green space. Restrooms upgraded. Boat ramps could be utilized better in order to draw people off the river. A complex or restaurant. Gas for boats? Fishing gear or convenient store?

Took our 1 year old down to play in the fountains. He had fun but left early due to other parent drama that started. Someone let their kid poop on the ground n just left it for anyone to walk in. Disgusting & irresponsible

I ride my bycicle with my German shepherd every day at the park stop to cool off !Very nice for children to play at the fountain!

A nice park with river front activities

A wonderful place for families to enjoy the park and cool off in the sprinkler pad. Only complaint is the lack of descent restrooms. The are is full of families,children,fishermen,boaters and sightseers. And their is only 2 port-a-pots. Fixing the restrooms should be a priority!!

My family and I love walking from our home down to this park and along the riverfront! Its so pretty and the kids love the Sprinkler park!

Very nice splash pad with a variety of different types of water streams. There are lots of benches nearby to sit and watch kids, as well as a close by pavilion. The playground was nice. The bathrooms were closed and the portapotties were very gross and smelly, but other than that, great place for kids on a hot day!

Well secured, camera monitored, splash pad for the kids, walking path access, two walk out piers boay ramps on either side of the river with plenty of parking. Oh also 2 blocks from the city justice center with 2 very large pavilions for private parties

The algae was awful. My granddaughter fell and hit her head hard. We have been her many times in the past years. Hope it gets cleaned soon.
