My husband and I love how cozy this place feels! We loved having a little kitchenette in the room. The bed was big enough for both of us and super comfortable. The lobby of the lodge has a great space too. My husband and I, highly recommend this place. Beautiful hike trails close by. Also recommend Derrick Trailhead.

Kohls Ranch a nice secluded little place. Great hiking and sight seeing with in a short distance. Just know cell service is sparse and their tv channels are limited but I guess when you are in such a wonderful place what really matters is what nature has to offer and on that - nature - this place rates a 10.

My husband and I stayed here in July. The A/C unit for the room was very good. The front desk staff were warm and friendly. The grounds are well-manicured and I liked the Western theme. We had a good-sized room with a kitchen that was well-stocked. The toilet/shower room was very small and the shower curtain kept sliding open. The bed was hard. There was no way to turn off the outside porch light at night and that made the room too bright for me at night (so we covered the window with a blanket). Overall, we would stay there again.

Great location! Second time I stayed here had nice staff first time was meh. Dirty rooms both times tho and a heater that was unusable due to reeking like burned hair during my second stay. Didnt get deposit back first stay either. The location is what you pay for and if the rooms were better maintained I would give it a much better rating. Unfortunately options in this area is also not great.

The lodge is great. Plenty of safe outdoor activities for the whole family. The cabins are completely sanitized down to the remotes being sanitized and bagged upon arrival. The front desk was a little rude during check in, and the take out from the restaurant could have been tighter on the corona protocols, but otherwise we felt clean, safe, and we had a great trip. We will go back.

Great place to take the kids. There are a lot of activities for the adults and kids to burn off some energy; horseshoes, a putting green, playground, bags, lawn chess/checkers, and more. The food was good too. I recommend stopping on your way in or out of Prescott.

The genuine definition of peace and serenity! Totally away from the big city. The only thing that would of made it a perfect 10 was no cabins were available, but, that tells me in itself, what a great place to get away or happen to be passing through and come upon it. Thanks to all the staff. Very welcoming from beginning to end of stay.

Our room had a few pots and pans and glasses. No salt or pepper. 2 packets of creamer and one coffee packet. My hubs used both in his coffee. Wish i had brought more. A dishwasher but no soap for it. Really dark inside. The few lamps were inadequate. Bring a flashlight, salt and pepper, creamer and dishwasher detergent. Plus a wood chipper woke us before 8 for tree trimming. Wont be returning. The bed alone would have kept me away...back still hurts.Good points: wonderful grounds, great restaurant. Huge deck with bbq and view of creek.

Such a cute resort. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating. There is a short little walkabout along the creek thats absolutely gorgeous. Kohls Ranch Resort is a beautiful place. First, the log cabin construction is beautiful and so fitting for the establishment. So many activities to do in this beautiful scenic backdrop. Tonto Creek runs right through the middle of everything with hiking trails, biking, dirtbikes and quad trails for miles. We checked in greeted by smiling faces and access to our room from outside or using the inside hallway. Very convenient! The rooms were fully equipped with everything from a fridge to the iron! Dishes, stove, microwave, everything youll be needing. My wife and I had a wonderful time and will definitely be back again!!Thank you

At first we were disappointed that we werent going to be along the stream that runs along the property but then we realized the benefits of not being along it. Such as mosquitoes and people. Plus because our cabin was so close to the grass we could go play games or sit on a swing anytime we wanted. I highly reccomend playing any of the games they have available. They are dumb but fun because how often do you actually play them? We found a few spiders in our cabin but i expected that considering we were close to water. Was very very happy to see that there was barely any spiders outside on the deck. Made it to where we werent too worried about getting bit while listening to the woods at night. A dog pooped on our deck the second day so it made us not really want to sit out there. Would love to visit this place again. The pics are from our cabin 2 bedroom deluxe cabin. The only negative i have to say was that the master bedroom shower was super small compared to the guest bedroom shower and that the door to the shower pops open easily if you accidentally hit it. Lets all the hot air out.

My family rented a deluxe double cabin for one night. I checked the floor plan and realized it does not match with the listed 8 person occupancy (plan says 6). Once we arrived, the cabin was smaller than the one we rented and the floor plan was different. Instead of two rooms with 3 beds, there were two small beds with no walking space in the room. The common space, tiny kitchenette, and back porch were nice. The outdoor creek is surrounded by greenery with cool water thats a little murky. At night you can see some stars. The rooms were a huge set back (as well as there being no functioning wifi) but the area can be enjoyable if you get away from the rooms

We definitely will be coming back! What a wonderful place! Its a great escape from hot Tucson or Phoenix. We stayed in one of the rooms facing the parking lot, but we didnt mind as we were there for a wedding and so really were only in the room for sleeping. Nice, clean, big rooms. Enough for two pack- n-plays for our two young children. Bathroom is tiny, and the water pressure is excellent but the shower head has tiny holes, so taking a shower kinda hurt. Thats the only thing I would change. The cabins face a lovely grassy area with the stream right behind it. The heated pool and fire pit area is in close walking distance. Theres a putting green and a playground for the kids. Volleyball court, basketball court, horse shoe area. Probably more, but we were busy with the wedding and didnt explore as much as we wanted. Wed like to rent a cabin next time and have a family weekend!

We’ve stayed one night and have one more night here. I’ve stayed at similar cabin style resorts for 3 times the price. Yes paying that much more the resorts do have a few more amenities, a nicer restaurant on site etc. BUT We got a 1 bedroom and man this place is very nice with a creek in the back. Stocked kitchen so you can bring food and have everything you need to cook. My unit was up to date and very clean. This is our first time staying somewhere That’s not $160+ a night and I can say anytime my wife and I want a quick get away from the valley and not spend a lot, this will be our go to. Again don’t expect massages and rose petals but a much more private and relaxing experience then a hotel That costs double.

More of a 3.5. I did visit during the down season. Many of the warmer weather activities were not really seasonally viable and I was disappointed that being so far from town that many basic accommodations were charger for. For example there is no complementary breakfast or any food (coffee/tea are free) and the bar pool table takes quarters. Just felt very nickel and dimmed when I already paid good money to stay there. They do have an impressive list of movies to borrow at no charge, as well at games. Although the front desk could not locate the one game we wanted; cribbage. The staff working were all very friendly and the room was clean. The community of Payson offers many vintage shops for gift buying. All in all, it was a decent stay, but would likely look elsewhere.

My review is not about the property but diamond resorts policy, I had planned to go there for my birthday while on the road with my wife, I made a reservation, while driving the weather turned bad and due to snow I could not arrive the next night, I called and said I could not get there due to road conditions from where I was coming, in short they said sorry, their policy is 72 hours to cancel and will charge my card as a no show. I actually wanted to go there but due to weather could not, I understand policy but a resort over 6000 feet might have weather issues, They surprised me with their answer. All were polite but rules are rules, I will just have to forgo staying there and I guess pay for the privilege of weather preventing it.

The property is in a beautiful setting with many amenities. Renovations are under way to improve this older property but it seems that it has been left to decline to the point of becoming unsafe in some areas. I stayed for a night in a studio unit that has been re-done. It is very nice BUT there is only one comfortable chair in the room, the bathrooms are nice but small and there are only enough dishes for one meal. They do not serve any form of breakfast during the week, so if you have not been to the grocery store prior to your arrival, you have limited options for breakfast. There is a small selection of yogurts and breakfast sandwiches in the lobby self-Steve fridge.
