Pretty crowded, but nice easy hike. There are two crossings that can be tough with young kids, but they are fairly manageable.I would recommend bringing water shoes or sandals to walk around near the waterfall.
Its great to get away from the Valley & the heat. Its a good little hike with a refreshing reward of the waterfall at the end. Cool water to wade in or get drenched in the waterfall, so take a small towel to dry off with!
Very nice short and shady hike with a nice little waterfall at the end. My 2 year old needed a little help, but it is very family friendly. Will be returning
Great little hike that ends with water feature. Fire from a couple of years ago destroyed a lot of the trees along the path, still kid friendly.
This is a beautiful little hike to take small kids on. Easy for them to handle and so fun to have a waterfall at the end. It can be crowded, but Ive never been where I still couldnt get a parking spot.
Went in the spring and the bridges needed a bit of work. Went again in August and the bridges were rebuilt and easy for my kid to cross. Thanks!
It has recovered nicely since the fire 2 years ago. Beautiful trail. Easy hike.
Very short hike to a tucked-away waterfall. We went shortly after some rain, and the mud was pretty slick. It made the last 30 feet of the hike a lot more difficult. But its kinda neat that you cant see the falls until youre right in front of it
I took my 3 boys here for a fun little hike. It was great for them - they loved every bit of it.
Fairly easy walk and such a beautiful place. .
This is a great trail for all skill levels. We hike this trail whenever we have an hour or two to spare. Its a relatively short and easy hike, with lots of trees and plenty of shade. Theres a few places where you cross a stream on narrow bridges, but thats probably the most challenging part, and its not precarious.I would advise wearing water shoes or some old tennis shoes that you dont care about so that you can play in the shallow pool at the bottom of the waterfalls at the end of the trail. I also advise getting there on a weekday or early in the morning, because the parking tends to fill up fast and it gets pretty crowded.
Nice, short, cool hike along the river with a great destination. Very kid friendly for all ages
My family loves hiking the grotto. Its an easy hike and the waterfall at the end is so much fun to play in.
Really nice short trail(half mile), great for families. But it can get crowded sometimes.
Nice short hike to see a waterfall. A fun hike that even a flatlander can enjoy without too much trouble.
It was beautiful! But a little muddy because is spring, and the river was raging !
Super easy hike for the kiddos. Be prepared for them getting wet at the end.
Quick easy walk for anyone.
I love this hike. Its short and easy....perfect for family hiking with my kids, or my grandmama!
Dont get me wrong, I love this hike...one of my complaints, however, is that so does anyone else in Utah county. This hike is always busy and down right insane on Saturdays. The trail is about 0.5 miles and ends at a nice little waterfall. This is one of those falls that are greatly affected by water levels, as such, a much better option late spring and after a heavy snowfall winter. This year, there has been little water, but still a pretty hike through pines. This is one of those hikes that your little ones can do (my two year old hiked the entire way).
All the trails are closed due to the fire last year, but its a beautiful drive. A burnt forest is quite a sight to see
Easy walking trail less than a mile to get to the waterfall
Some burned trees from fire last year, but very few. Bridges have been fixed and its good to go. Short easy half mile trail, however a little bit of roughness for those who have trouble with steadiness. Our two year old did this just fine with help over some Bridges and rocks. Great short family hike leasing to edge of waterfall
Short hike to a gem. Love itMight get wet crossing the river
Fun, short hike! Go to the lake too when you come up here.
Short hike for a beautiful waterfall
A short hike that is great for the whole family, even young children.
Beautiful and worth the hike. So glad it survived the fire.
Free hike. Very very short. Great for young kids. You can play in the waterfall .
One of my favorite hikes.
Great family hike/walk! Nothing technically difficult. Great payoff at the end! The foot bridges were damaged by the Spring runoff, and are not as helpful as they have been in the past.
A fun, family friendly hike. 0.6 miles one direction with a clearly marked trail. Busy so go early.
Super easy hike and the kids always love it. The waterfall at the end is always pretty and a nice reward for the hike in.
Steller hike bruh.
Beautiful place to visit
The Grotto is so beautiful and such a good hike
We love the Grotto. Its a short drive from Payson and a really short, easy hike--a quarter mile if even that!
Super simple hike.
Easy hike for kids
Perfect for small kids.
Its a fun little hike to do with the family. Its not very long and you get to cross fallen logs here and there. I would go in the beginning of summer when its not so full that you cant play in the water. Some spring run-offs are known to wipe out the trail to the hike.
Nice short hike and good for kids. The trail is well marked, but rocky. There are several places where you have to cross the stream where theyve put up simple bridges. My kids lived out and it was the perfect short hike.
It was an easy hike for adults and young kids and fun little waterfall and play area at the end. I feel like our experience would have been better if it wasnt so crowded. I recommend going during the week.
Fun hike and beautiful
Great short hike to a refreshing cool pool of water!
Small hike pretty for pictures very busy with people traffic
Absolutely amazing hike. I recommend this to anyone who would like to just get Outdoors for an hour or two. Its an easy hike for all ages who are capable of walking uphill.
Beautiful hike but many sites said it was 3 miles in and out. Its maybe .50 miles both directions. Still a great family hike and mostly shaded. Gorgeous!
Easy short hike with fun little bridges to cross. Great for young kids. I wouldnt drive here just for the grotto, instead plan to see it things like drive the Nebo loop, etc. Also, I think its best to go in the spring so that there is spring run off to make the falls more impressive and the bridge crossings more fun. Also bring shoes that can get wet so you can walk right up to the falls. The water is chilly :)
Do not expect a long hike. This trail can be done in 30 minutes. My 3 and 5 year old girls had a lot of fun. It was short enough that I didnt have to carry them. Plan on making friends as you will not be alone. There is probably around 30 parking spots at the trail head.
Its about a quarter mile hike one way to get there and its a waterfall flowing into a small pond. I love going in the summertime and just standing under the waterfall because the water is snow and ice melt so its always invigorating, my seven-year-old loves the hike and loves adventure and exploring the area. Great for families and great for a good hike
This is a classic place to visit. The hike is pretty easy, even a toddler can do it. By the end, it gets a little slick so watch out there. But the hike isnt very long and is pretty. Id recommend going and visiting.
Short, fun hike. Great for smaller kids.
Perfect for fall pictures.
Very easy little hike with a well maintained trail. It runs next to a stream and ends with a small waterfall. Wear sandals so you can get wet if you want.
One of my favorite local hikes. Great for kids. I would go early or lste season to beat the crowds
Such a blast
This is a short way hike and really shady. There are a lot of people so timing is key to a peaceful walk and plenty of parking.
It was a good bonding time for friends and family
Romantic place, nice place to hike. Amazing scenerie and views!!! Highly recommend going there to visit.
Nice little hike ready for kids. Waterfall is pretty cool. Often very busy.
Fun little hike great for kids as long as you check the river levels before going.
Easy for young kids and lots of fun. Ends at a beautiful waterfall where your kids can play to their hearts delight.
Beautiful trail and not too long for a little nature walk
Nice small hike. Very enjoyable.
This hike is fun, easy, quick, and rewarding. The waterfall at the end is gorgeous!
Easy hick for the family. Can be crowded, but lots of fun for small kids. Their is also a way for older kids to be challenged, as their is a way to hick to the top of the waterfall.
A great nature walk with a lovely place to relax at the end. Popular with the locals.
I love the grotto thats as you start to go up payson canyon. Its a nice walk. Sometimes the people at the end are annoying and leave trash and beer bottles all around.
Great hike/nature walk for kids and families
Quick and easy family friendly hike.
The trail is closed due to fire damage.
Quick and fun little hike with a waterfall at the end of the trail
Fun, short little afternoon hike
Nice. Fun hike. Pretty.
Easy,short, and fluffy friendly hike.
Easy trail. Quick. Family, kid, friendly.
This place to so pretty
Great place in Zions canyon
