Beautiful place!:) not a lot of people so perfect for staying distant but getting outside.

The East Verde River picnic area is a good place to come when there is water flowing to play in the water and over fish. You can also hike here there is a hiking trail. or you can just come down near the river sit down and enjoy the nature and the running water. You can probably pick that here if you bring chairs and tables and all that stuff. Its also a good place to take some good pictures and videos and just to enjoy nature. I definitely recommend this place for a quick stop or for half a day trip.

This place was okay for a quick walk. Not ideal for a picnic because there is not really a place to put a chair or sit. I did think it was serene.

Peaceful and beautiful

The scenery is breathtaking, and there are lovely grass areas where you could easily set up a picnic. Theres fun areas down by the river to explore. Clearly a multitude of different animals call this place home, based on the various paw prints in the mud.Very close to Payson at only a 12 minute drive from Main Street!I didnt care for the amount of graffiti and litter in this area, but thats a man made problem. It was also hard to get away from the sounds of traffic from the highway -- at some points you could even hear a rumble down the canyon that made us think of flash floods.Despite those issues I do intend on spending more time there. Nice area!

Its really peaceful and love the stream and side of mountain. But when I went I did see dog feces in dirt....wish folks would clean after their pets.
