While I really liked our teacher at Waterworks they get 2 stars from me because of the way they handled things around Covid. I purchased a package of solo swim lessons (quite expensive) right before Covid hit. I asked for a refund and stated financial difficulties as part of that reason and was told no - that they would hold my classes until they reopened. When they decided to reopen sometime in June, instead of leaving it up to families to activate their membership they automatically reinstated our schedule and I lost 2 lessons before noticing (I should point out I had been getting spam level emails from them so did not catch the one saying they would start charging). So Ive never left a review before but I was truly disappointed how this company handled themselves around this pandemic.
My daughter has always wanted a pool party for her Birthday, but since she was born in Jan, we figured we wouldnt be able to do so. However Waterworks Aquatics Pasadena was able to let us have her Birthday Party there and the staff was more than amazing! Children around water creates anxiety in parents, however the staff were more than amazing, played games with the children and were very attentive. THANK YOU ALL! EVERY STAFF MEMBER THAT WORKED 1-18-2020 THANK YOU SO MUCH
I stopped coming here a few years ago. Here’s why. I actually had this really nice instructor named Julius and actually got to the top level with him but he like retired or left or something and I had to get a new instructor. I got this guy named Tevin and he would pull me back BY MY FEET if I was doing a stroke wrong. It really hurt. I got out of there REAL quick and actually stopped swimming for a long time after that.
The indoor facility is the way to go for year round swim lessons. Ms. Viki is the best and my son loves to come here. All the facilities are nice here and the staff is very friendly.
I come here so often that most of the older instructors recognize me or my kids. They’ll smile or wave at me, some even say hi to my kids (and they aren’t even my kids’ regular instructors). I’ve made friends with Danielle at the front desk, who’s super nice and makes it easier for me with adjusting my schedule.
My child and I enjoy coming to this facility. The environment and staff makes us feel very welcome, making us want to stay longer, each time we have a session . We look forward to many years of fun. Diffently will be one of our greatest childs life activities.
This is a great place for kids to learn to swim, friendly staff and clean facility. Parking can be challenging at times, so make sure you have buffer.
Waterworks did not work for my kids. I ended up having to switch to a smaller at a home swim instructor. The instructors are young and my feedback and questions were not addressed. It is expensive in my opinion and it is a hassle to reschedule for illness or other reasons. I spent several stressful months and close to $1000 and my son did not learn how to swim, he was not safe in the pool. For some reason the instructor focused on turning over for 20 seasons straight. If you try it my advice is to make sure you get an instructor you and your children connect with, go twice a week, and plan to spend at least 20-40 sessions until your child can be safe in the pool. It was too slow and difficult for me.
Instructors are fun, great communication, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, showers are clean, and scheduling is very flexible. Theres always parking, except on hot Saturdays. My kids took 16 semi-private lessons. They went from puddle jumpers to free styling across the pool. The instructors they loved were Art and Mattheau.
Excellent swimming coach team and good facilities. My kid is learning swimming here and I am so happy to see how quick he learns all swimming techniques and enjoys the swimming. All coaches are very nice and patient to teach my kid. I recommend you to have swimming classes here.
They are amazing!!! The staff makes you feel as though you are part of the aquatics family! The instructors are amazing teachers and even the newer instructors receive feedback while they are teaching... i am a very please parent!
Great place to learn to swim! Easy scheduling, accommodating front desk, and patient, professional swim instructors. My kids & I love coming here.
Great teachers but incredibly HIGH turnover rate for the teachers. Initially, I loved waterworks. My 3 year old excelled in her semi-private classes. Then her teacher abruptly quit. Her second teacher quit. Her third teacher quit. Now we are on her fourth teacher and trying to find the rhythm that was lost. The front desk has been great with scheduling. The teachers are great. Many of them are college students or recent high school graduates.
Excellent place for kids to learn to swim. Its a little pricier than other places such as the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center but the pool is indoors so you dont have to worry about the elements and the instructors are great.
Great place for your children to learn swimming friendly staff and great environment.
Great place for your children to learn how swim!Friendly staff and great environment.
Amazing instructors. Learned so much with semiprivate lessons verses the city recreational lessons with 10to 12 kids in a 30 minute where each kid gets 2-5 minutes individual attention.
Kiddos love coming here to learn. Great staff!
Excellent Aquatic Center! The staff is awesome and very obliging.
The staff is competent and very nice. The only problem is sometimes the pool is too cold but other than that its a great place.
The classes themselves are great for the kids, but they dont have enough parking or stalls during peak hours. It can get too crowded that its pretty difficult to maneuver or do anything!
The swim staff is great.Beware of their accounts staff.
I put my 3-year-old twins in semi-private classes twice a week for two and a half months, and they loved it. Their teacher was fantastic, and they went from being nervous around the water to diving underwater to retrieve toys. We stopped because our schedule got really busy and because the classes just got to be too expensive. I really wish they had learned more after we had spent so much. They allow kids to play in the shallow part of the pool 20 minutes before and after their class. It gives them a chance to practice what they learned, but the shallow part isnt big enough for everyone. So all the kids are packed in like sardines. My other complaint is that they have air hand dryers in the bathrooms. Most kids are deathly afraid of air dryers.
Great options for teaching your little ones to swim.
Great swim school! Friendly staff.
Great lessons, instructor, and environment for swimming.
We invested a lot of money in classes and it all went down the drain with one instructor. The instructor punished my two-year old daughter for crying and would let her go under-water, which of course traumatized her. There is a high-instructor turn-over. We had over 5 instructors in two-years and some do not have experience working with young children, hence punishing a 2-year old.
Awesome place
