We are so lucky to have such a fine swim center in Pasadena! What a great facility! When I taught at Linda Vista, there was a program called “Teach a School to Swim”and once a week my class (and others) would have free swim lessons! It was JUST GREAT!Not bad, being paid to soak up some rays and watch my class swim!
Worst service every. False communication. And cannot let you out. I pay for 4 sessions and due to circumstances thats was not my fault or theirs yet they wouldnt give me a credit since back or couldnt even get my classes credit. Bad bad service will never dGo back. I do not recommend this place for parent and infant.
I was skeptical to see how a public pool would handle the COVID-19 pandemic. To be honest, what the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center is doing should be the model for all public pools in a post-pandemic world. It’s simple: read the schedule, time out the sign up period, and yoi have your own lane for 45 minutes - in a gorgeous, clean, well maintained pool. However challenging this is for the staff, they don’t show any sign of frustration. This is worth noting as it seems like every employee and lifeguard is working so above and beyond to make this a smooth experience for everyone.A+ experience. This has quickly become my favorite discovery of this less than pleasurable pandemic.
Outstanding staff & organization working very hard to keep the pool safe & open during the Covid virus. You are needed to keep us healthy during this challenging time! Thank you!
Last years swim lessons were great this year not so much, basically you ate paying to teach your own kid.
The best place to swim?
Beautiful place for be with your family
I like taking the secret trail to get here. Nice pool that is always clean and well maintained.
Love this place!
Thank you for reopening, missed the water exercise
The best people
Amazing! Great instructors
Ive been coming to the RBAC for over 20 years! I LOVE that during that time it has changed by adding more relevant classes. I come only in the summer. I have tried going through October but it got too cold for me after that . The pools are heated but still couldnt do it. It does get crowded and at times swim lessons dominate space for lap swimming. But RBAC is always working on fixing this issue. The scenery is BEAUTIFUL! Great place.
My secret hideaway. Ive been coming here years for US Masters, lap swim and water aerobics. Im addition, to just relaxing and laying out. Staff, including the life guards, locker room attendants and aerobic instructions, specifically Heather and Victoria are EXCEPTIONAL! Dont forget to bring some snacks and water. Dive in and enjoy .
First time going and loved it! Too bad I live super far otherwise Id bring my kids here every day. Its super clean, staff are really friendly, and different levels in depth. Also its pretty cheap in price for entry. Absolutely loved it.
As the new digital billboard reminds swimmers and guests, “If you see something, say something”.With yet another 10% price increase on your fees, what I “saw” today was a dirty, recreational area, cluttered junk around the pool, rubbish pushed to one side. What I am going to “say” is You guys can do and should do better in keeping your center clean and appealing to swimmers. $14 Is a price that should be spent wisely. Please start by keeping it clean.
They used to have open swim and swim lessons but they don’t mention open swim anymore. I stopped going there.
Awesome place
A great facility with a community of fine swimmers and individuals who have overcome surgeries and rehabilitation in the water or the exercise room. Peter has a great command of the pool area with his non-threatening and friendly personality. The staff go to great lengths to serve and protect everyone.
Came here for a meet and it is a nice atmosphere.
I love the staff. They are very caring. Those lifeguards are helpful. The water is wonderful. You can see the palm trees and beautiful sky. I feel very wealthy there.
The swim instructors are adequate. But . . . if you are going to miss a lesson, beware of the fine print. Last year, we missed a lesson for our daughter and after a couple calls and waiting to hear back, we ended up missing one of her lessons. Sixteen dollars down the tube. This happened again this year. We were out of town for her last lesson and called when we got back to make it up. Left a message, didnt hear back. Called the next day...If we miss her last lesson, it must be made up during the current session only because their insurance policy will only cover those currently enrolled in classes. Really? I already paid the $80 ($16) toward that insurance policy. So since her last lesson was on a Saturday and the session ended on a Sunday, we were out of luck and out of $16 more dollars. So in two years with two kids, we spent $160 for 8 lessons and $32 went down the drain. So if a kid was sick on their last lesson on a Sunday . . . too bad?So if there was a death in the family . . . too bad?So if the Center was only 70% responsible for your child . . . too bad? After this last straw, we wont be coming back. For $80, our family of four can all go to another public pool once per week for 9 weeks! For the parent/infant level I, II, III classes, its definitely not worth it. We can do more with our children in the public pool on our own schedule without having to adhere to overly-stringent policies that are rigid for some, and flexible for others.
There is too.much water
This place used to be a nice family swimming place for both children and adults. For this reason we have been paying higher price for monthly pass here. But I don’t know what is happening to this place lately. They are MISTREATING their customers. Poor customer service. I think this place will loose their customers eventually.
Great place. Just wish they had more competition lanes!
This is the first time I give 1 Star. If there is a chance to give 0 Star. Then this would be a 0 Star. I have posted this review on yelp, and my user name is Mitsuki S. And there is lots of reason. Ive been swimming here for almost 3 months. I have my membership card and I joined their swimming class which is $120 for 4 one hour class. I love the instructor a lot, that is the reason I have continued to swim here this long. But, tonight, I am here for Rec Swim. And their life guard told me to get out from the pool. My classes are on Tuesday and Thursday, and I feel I need more practice than just swimming 2 days per week. Thats why I am here on Monday and I paid $2 for rec swim from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm to practice one more day during the week. I got here at 7:26 pm and I paid at the front desk and I got in the pool around d 7:35 pm. I was using my floating board and practice swimming and their life guard told me to get out from the pool around 7:50 pm, and I got back to the changing room at 7:55 pm. The reason the life guard told me to get out is because I was using a floating board to practice. And he said I couldnt use it. I asked why the others are using it. He said because they paid $70 per month for membership and I only paid $2 for swimming from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm tonight. FYI, they gave you a wristband if you come in for rec swimming. I felt embarrassed. I felt the way they gave me a wristband is to label me and treat me differently. And also, I have paid for swimming from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. And he told me to get out from the pool around 7:50 pm. After I get to the changing room and get a towel. I walked to the front desk and told them what happened. And their front desk said that the life guard is right. I said then you need to print your rules for rec swimming and put it at the front desk or at the pool or at least explain to your customers. And the front desk guy didnt even bother to response to me. So I have decided that I will never come back to this place again, even my instructor is amazing and I love his class. Because the service here is really really really bad. As a customer who spent lots of money here, I feel disrespected by them. And I felt that they label their customers and treat their customers differently with how much they think the customer spend here. I feel this is really wrong. I will post this review to all the social media sites I can find that can review this swimming center. Thanks for all the people that read this review. I believe that no one should be treated this way. and I hope you all dont ever need to experience this.
Ok, I love this place, but the 13 dollar drop-in fee is outrageous. Ill pay it, but I hate it. I only use the pool when Im visiting family in Pasadena from out of town, so the daily rate is my only option. The way the fees are structured your options are either to suck it up and pay the daily rate--again, 13 dollars--or buy in to a pass which lowers the price but locks you in to committing to an aquatics lifestyle, which not everyone is looking for. They dont offer student discounts, either. Amazing that a city of this size only has one real public pool, and it really isnt public at all. In fact, the fee structure effectively functions to exclude people who dont have much money.
Swimming at night.....fun, fun!
It is a nice place to be and they also have a hot tub
I hate that pool! Meet nightmare! The organizers are completely insane.Bad pool layout for a meet.
Fact:They have land yoga!Kris leads a mindful & therapeutic land yoga class at the astonishing price of $8. Buy a pack of 10 classes for $60!!The shallow & deep water fitness classes are wonderful. As is the therapeutic pool & the special classes held in it.I never have left RBAC without a smile, no matter how challenging my day has been.
Great place for swimming lessons or for lap swimming. Lockers are clean, pool is heated, and the staff is friendly. Prices are a little high.
Best time to get a lap swim lane, after 1pm. Good locker room and decent gym.
I try to go to the Rosebowl Aquatic Center once a week to do a lap swim workout. It is convenient and lets you pay 10 dollars for a day pass so it is a great option for those that just want to get a swim in once in awhile. The pools are always busy with swim teams, diving, water polo, aquatic fitness classes, and lessons. There are always several lanes open for lap swim workouts and I have never had more than 2 or 3 people to a lane on a weekday evening. I like the fact that it is open late and I can do a workout under the lights after work. Another positive is that both pools are salt water pools so you dont have the effects of the harsh chlorine if you swim more often. Occasionally, the lap swim pool could use a bit of cleaning, but I may just always be there late in the day. Their programs run all year and are a great way to get involved if you are not an avid swimmer. Overall, I am glad to have such a great pool center so close.
We love the heated salt water pool, kids mommy and me classes, and all of the staff.
Rose Bowl had a Park
This is an amazing place that try to be all inclusive. I love the place and all the people who work there.
Really nice facility but the setup for spectators is pretty bad. The way they set up the bleachers for large events does not leave many options as far as where you can best watch your swimmers.
We love Kandis and all the therapeutic instructors at Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. They are skilled swim instructors who helped our daughter overcome her physical challenges so she could learn to swim. RBAC provides individual and team swimming programs for people of all abilities.
Always great instructors, both for swimming and diving classes. Parking sometimes crowded when theres events at the Rise Bowl, so arrive timely.
I really liked the swimming pool The best pool nearby my home in Glendale
A great place to do laps or take lessons. They just remodeled, so everything is new and clean. They even have special programs for the handicapped. Its places like this that make Pasadena such a lovely town. If they ever offer crossfit again, Ill change my review to 5 stars... hint, hint rbac!
Great professional and friendly staff at the Therapy Pool. There always a Lifeguard to assure your safety. The well qualified caregivers and physical therapists helped me greatly improve my postoperative recovery from knees and hip surgeries, arthritis and balancing problems.
Lots of opportunity for lap swimming, aerobics, and general fitness. Great location, too. Give it a shot.
If you enjoy outdoor swimming, swim, dont run, to this Aquatic center. Many Olympic athletes train here.
The special needs staff is fantastic. Camp Splash. Swim Lessons. Across the board.
Score board not working so once an event is over you dont know which place a swimmer placed
Here has taken the picture of the album Nevermind, Nirvana. Amazing!
My child enjoy his swimming classes there.
Awesome, the pts here are very knowledgeable.
Awesome, love it!!!!!
The pools are clean and people are nice.
Execllent place to take your children swimming
Grate place to take kids to swim!
Great staff
Great swimming lessons
Stay away from this place. Just stay away so I can have it all to myself
50 meter lanes!
Great facility in a beautiful setting.
Superbe complex with 2 outdoor Olympic pools (50m) and a diving well
Expensive swim lessons.
Beat place by far to take swim lessons
Sick ass lap pool
Great place, the facilities are fantastic... Safety measurements for covid are taking very seriously and I am happy with them but I must say the personal in the swimming pool (lifeguards) are a little bit unpolite...I can understand the stress they might have these days but I would appreciate a little bit of understanding with the clients too... I dont speak perfect English and I always try to be kind and polite following all the rules that change daily, but sometimes I simply dont hear them talking from the distance with the masks and their reaction is too much aggressive in my opinion. The rest is fantastic.
