My 5 year old loved the camp, however there is a blond hair lady who is quite rude which I experienced two times in two weeks. There was also another young lady who worked with the older kids who spoke quite Rudely to the kids everyday as they where leavening. I thought camp was suppose to be fun but they had my 5 year old take a 2 hour nap in the afternoon it’s basically paying for daycare not a camp. Kids in the older groups came out with huge paper bags of stuff they did over the week my kid came out with a folder of drawings they did at a table, mind as well take them to a normal daycare. also, if you do not pay attention to your email you have to wait until after the program starts to pay for the following week. They don’t call you and this is after you already payed a 50 dollar down fee for the next week. They two front desk lady’s are very sweet and helpful though, they were great!
Nice place to take grandkids. Theres a neat trail. Its small but the animal section is neat and you can spend an hour of fun with kids. Not expensive.
The people are extremely friendly. And the exhibits are fun!! The reptile meeting thing; lol I cant remember the name for it, was very fun and interesting. You get to pet and feed a snake, frog, and lizards. You can put the nonpoisonous snake around your neck or hold it and get amazing pictures!! its amazing for kids to do and run around too!!
Awesome place for families.... The reptiles were so cool the kids loved it! Your a lucky one if catch the reptile show. The host was absolutely amazing. She taught the kids about each every reptile she showed and they were allowed to hold them as well.
This is the place where the kids are encouraged to touch and play! The adults find it fun too!My grandson is at their summer camp this week and absolutely loves it. Next week is booked up for camp but will book alot earlier next summer
Was trying to call to get additional information but apparently they dont have staff to answer a phone call. I will not be visiting this place.
For me, this museum isn’t the best, but my 6 year old son loves it. I do not feel it offers good exhibits. I found one exhibit not working and had a date from 1997. They do have a couple of updated exhibits, like the Beam by EyeClick in the Hands On exhibit and the reptile area. The outside area is run down, not really sure what the butterfly garden is. I wish it had more working exhibits. I am used to the Orlando Science Center and the museums in Chicago.I can see a lot of potential though.
Good for small kids. Im saying like 8 and younger. My 6&7 year old had a good time . It does need to be a little updated. Used the Groupon discount and it was worth the money.
My 4 year old loved it! He enjoyed the dinosaur dig, but most of all the reptiles! The staff were wonderful. The lady in charge of the reptiles was so patient with my son. She took out multiple animals for him to touch. He fed the bearded dragon and held a snake. It was worth the drive from the beach just for that!
My little Grandson loves this place. The ultimate setting for play and pretend. There is science, history, education and wonder encapsuled within the walls and grounds of this Center. There is even a nature walk and a nice little archeological dig site for the little ones. Such a wonderful get away!
I enrolled my child there during summer program 2018. First week paid close to $200 a week, very expensive. Child not happy with their program, said every day they were doing same things. It is a strictly program and kids are not allow to run. You have to sign you child when you walk in then you have to walk outside to the next building and sign him in again. Tell me that is not wasting every parent time time...no need for something like this.If you are late for picking up your child you have to pay late fees. Pay$ 1 per minute. The staff will remind you you cant come back until you pay late arrival fee. So, I mail my late fee 25.00 and never took my child back. That was my first time they make no exceptions. After 1 week we stopped going. Place looks nice from the outside and maybe inside but the kids need to be entertained and have activities to do to keep them busy, not boring. Money, was not the issues is how they operate that we didnt like. We will never go back.
This science center is little atypical but very functional! They have both indoor and outdoor activities. Our toddler (2.5yo) wasnt into the toddler program - she doesnt like to sit still. We used the reciprocal benefit of our membership in KY. We only paid $6 to get in but the prices are very reasonable without a membership.
Great variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The staff was very curteous. Our kids loved seeing the bunny they could pet!
I had to make my grandkids go because I mentioned the word museum. Then over 4 hours later I had to drag them out. A great time was had by all ️
The Science and Discovery Center has had a facelift! The new reptile exhibit adds an opportunity to get up close with some interesting animals. New paint plus new technology equals a great place to take my grands!
This is my first time here. This is def for children up to the ages of 12, maybe 13. There is all kinds of things that kids can learn and be hands on. I love that they can be hands on with everything as well. The nature trail was a lot of fun, the swing, and the dino dig. All the exhibits inside was a blast too. They were also to use their imaginations and be kids! But I will have to see that my kids LOVE the animals the MOST. The reptiles were by far the best part of the entire stay. We went on Thursday, where from 3:30 to 4:00PM they get to interact with different reptiles. The teacher was so awesome with the kids and the kids just LOVED being able to pet and feed them! This was a lot of fun even for the adults! I even learned new things. We will def be back just to see the animals! Thanks!
Twinsters loved it! My two 3-year old girls had a blast trying everything. At first glance I thought maybe an hour and wed be done. Nearly 3 hours later I had to drag them out. Happy and tired.
We loved toddler time! Super affordable, great exhibits, my boys had a blast.
For me, this place was not very impressive as museums go; however, my children (3 and 6) loved it and it was relatively cheap. Overall, it is a great thing to do if you are in the area and have kids to entertain. Highlights: They have a couple of big wooden vehicles out front for kids to play on; Bun Bun the bunny waiting for pets; a tree swing and hideouts; wooden horse, donkey, and ship to play on; sand pit for digging for dinosaur fossils; picnic tables; STEAM fun inside with AC and bathrooms; and a lovely narrow trail. The sand pit actually had a buried dino to uncover, so that was cool. There are a couple of historic buildings to look at. Drawbacks: mosquitoes, ants that bite, and being outside in the hot Florida sun and humidity. Did i mention it was hot and humid? And mosquitoes? The girls wanted to visit again.
I havent been to the Science and Discovery Center since it was the Junior Museum. My sisters and I took my nephews; their ages range between 8-1 year old. Many of the exhibits were the same from when I was a child. They had an animal encounter where they brought out a tortoise and snake for the kids to pet; the boys absolutely loved it. We came late and were only there for an hour and a half before they closed but we could have probably stayed for at least another hour. It is definitely geared toward younger children but the price was great and the kids liked it as much as Wonderworks (excluding the laser tag portion.)
Though most of the things in this place are broken we enjoy coming back every Tuesday for spots for tots. My daughter enjoys doing this so much we look forward to it every week.
The museum has been improving every time we visit. Keep up the good work
It was ok alot of outdated things play room was dirty the trail was broken and dirty smelled like an old school the best part was the reptiles but could only look at them and only had maybe 10. I could see charging kids like 3 dollars seeing as its for them but definitely not worth 20 for 3 people adults should be free only to accompany the child wont be returning you can go swimming or skating for cheaper
Its an okay place to visit for a couple of hours but overall pretty disappointing as far museums /science centers go. Most of the exhibits are old and outdated, many did not work, the place was dirty and in serious need of cleaning /updating. A fresh coat of paint and someone occasionally going over the displays /exhibits with clorox wipes would improve the place 100%. The reptile exhibit was a pretty big hit with my son as he loves snakes. There is also a boardwalk that travels through a wooded area on the grounds which is nice. Appears that the place doubles as a daycare center too and I was somewhat surprised that kids were allowed to play in an area outside which is also open to public visitors. Never know what type of people are visiting and I personally dont believe this is a good idea but I guess if the kids are closely supervised maybe they will be okay. Overall, I would have been really disappointed if we had paid full price for admission but we purchased tickets at a seriously discounted rate through Groupon. I guess it was worth the money spent but I dont see us going back unless there are serious improvements made. I must add that the staff were very courteous and friendly. I know many museums /science centers operate solely off donations and admission prices and I hate to be critical of these places as we are big fans of science but I feel this place could be so much more with just a little more effort. Its no Fernbank or Tellus, and will probably never get to that level but it can be great for the area if cleaned up and updated. Hope to see it improve.
Love every visit
A wonderful discovery center for children! It was not busy when we were there an my three boys (6, 5, 4) had a great time.
Killed a couple of hours. My 6 year old LOVED it however, a lot of the exhibits need maintenance and were not in working ordee
It was pretty cool.. I just wish the pioneer houses were open to look inside
Exhibits are good and educational, and there is a nice nature trail, too. Some exhibits and the back building are old and dated.
Excellent place to bring your children. Best part is, it is not across the Hathaway bridge
Great for the kids, not much to do for adults. My kids really enjoyed it tho, and that was the point of the trip!
Fun place! This would be a great place to take kids when its too hot or nasty out.
So much to learn & fun stuff to look at.... My son & I didnt want to leave!
This place is awesome, I never get bored! Its so cool that I decided to do a report on for school.
A really good place to visit. Lots of hands on exhibits. Great variety, so something for everyone. Friendly staff.
Went during the grand opening. Lots of animals and fun staff
I took my children here and now take my grandchildren they have always enjoyed...Great learning experience
Dated still looks the same from when I was a child on a field trip 25 years ago. Very boring
Cute place... definitely not for 10+!
Could be so much more interactive if they tried
Very fun educational place to take the kids!
We have so few things to do here that its nice to have this. It really really really needs updating though.
Place great
Its a fun place for kids but a lot of the stuff is broken.
