I absolutely love this place. I have only been inside to use the restroom, bc of the pandemic but the drive in parking lot movies have made my weekends!!! the prices are great and the concessions are still open through an outdoor window.
Great Venue love the building, so much history in it,. I was honoured to be at the Movie Premier of Rose England Produced and directed by GINA CAREY, Brilliant event, loads of celebrities and press and the after party was off the hook, great staff, friendly and welcoming,. I am definitely going back for a future Premier. Please look at some of the amazing images of the Premier event,. Miss Gina Carey did an amazing job, along with everyone behind the scenes who made it such a brilliant success..
Small independent theater with three small theaters. Comfortable seating. Great selection of different showings. Small snack counter (cash is better here than card). Nice location!
One of the best little theaters left in the world. Three auditoriums showing excellent movies. Plus documentaries and live entertainment as well. And it even has an exceptional attached cafe!
Seats are comfortable and rock. Cupholder, too. Drinks available for purchase at front. Would definitely go to more shows. Went to Legends of Rock and roll. Had a great time!
Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the GREATEST! Tuesdays $6.00 for the movie and Wednesdays $7.00 gets you free popcorn and a movie. You cant beat that!PLUS luxury seating...plush & cozy seating with reclining seats. However, the theater is literally freezing, so dont forget to bring along a cozy jacket (NOT a thin summer jacket) I am NOT kidding.
Beautiful theater and beautifully maintained! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. 4 and older theater, we found that the seats were very comfortable.
Acoustics are not good for a one-on-one interview. Unless its the microphones? Why werent they passing mics for audience to ask questions? Theater sound and movie was great. Will not stay for Q&A
Nice art theater. creative selection of movies. Great friendly staff
Love this place! Great history and comfortable seats for your movie going experience.
This used to be a Good location and theater. But since they changed the seats in large theater you sit to low and seat in front of you is higher then you and they are NOT ANGELED RIGHT so no matter where you sit unless front row. Some ones head or top of seat BLICKING YOUR VIEW ehhhhhh.
Very nice theater that shows foreign and independent movies in Palm Springs. Downstairs there is a cafe that serves sandwiches, salads, pastas and other simpler fare. Several types of beer and wine are available. On the weekends there is a restaurant upstairs with a full service bar. Also, good to know that the Palm Springs farmers market is located on the North Side of the Camelot building on Saturday mornings during the fall through spring.
Beautiful 3-theater movie house. Reasonable ticket prices for independent films, including senior pricing. The place was clean with comfy seats, nice choice of movie snacks, tidy ladies room, and lots of parking.
Welcoming all film and performing arts patrons, Camelot owners Ric and Rozene Supple have a long and proud history of presenting the best of the best in film and live performance art, as well as welcoming and supporting the LGBTQ communities; sometimes inevitably in the face of opposition by those who are less enlightened.Camelot Theatres is located on the south side of the Palm Springs Mall parking lot at 2300 Baristo Road, Palm Springs. Camelot Theatres is a three-screen movie house and entertainment complex specializing in first-run art film, foreign film, independent film features and special events.Newly renovated in 1999, it is one of a handful of theatres in the country with its level of technical sophistication. As the wizards of sound and projection have continued to innovate, Camelot Theatres has kept pace. The large house (548 seats) also contains a performance platform for live performances and the small house (152 seats) contains a lecture stage. The theatre is programmed 52 weeks a year and is also available for group sales and rental. The facility also houses Ric’s Cafe, featuring a large canopied outdoor patio and offering a complete menu of fresh salads, sandwiches, bakery goods, beer, wine and gourmet coffees. Camelot Theatres also has a full liquor license and offers complete catering services for groups and special events.
Attend Palm Springs festival Orientation every year. I have watched many a movie here. Seats are very comfy, very clean.
Easy to get to even from Palm Desert. Ample parking
The coziest theatre with award winning foreign and independent films. Excellent snack bar menu. So much nicer than the multiplexes.
It is nice and has good facilities, concessions, and people. But, the seats are too upright and take too much force to lean back, which makes them rather uncomfortable for me.
Great film options. Love the unique, independent selections. Friendly staff. Good cafe. Great restaurant.
Very cozy and comfortable, entertaining and inviting. What great little gem in the desert! Cant wait to visit again.
Always enjoy the films that are playing here.Nice clean theater.
One of my favorite theaters. Nice senior discount 55+
Always deserving of support as they try to keep this location showing movies.Drinks, food, great staff.Great fun crowd July 4th.
What used to be a nice theater to go see the non-blockbuster movies has seemed to have gone downhill since it changed names to the Cultural Center. Not sure if its management or what but you never can be assured the place is open anymore. Closed for this and closed for that you just dont know. Its sad because it was a great place to see the art-house movies.
Historic movie theater that features art films & LGBT themed movies. Theres a cafe attached to it. Part of the Palm Springs Cultural Center. Theres also a farmers market in the parking lot on Saturday mornings. A very nice place to see a movie.
Old Times Theater. Best Popcorn
This is The Palm Springs Cultural Center. They have comfortable seats & a bar to enjoy your movie or special performance.
Great old style theater.
Had a wonderful time, its a special place!
I like the size of the individual theaters theyre comfortable. Even better when the film is what you want to see.
Great Theatre ~ is Haven for unique experiences!
An older theater with modern updates including a bar! I wouldnt necessarily recommend younger kids for this theater, just for the simple fact is the backs of the chairs are pretty high and unless your little ones have a booster seat, theyre going to struggle to see over the seat in front of them, not to mention if theres a person in it. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the theater was immaculate.
Nice clean facility, fun program
Enjoyed the movie for the Palm Springs film festival.
The Camelot theaters is now called the Palm Springs Cultural Center. I attended the American documentary film festival which was excellent and the theater did a great job of hosting the event.
Wonderfully funny time tonight at Mommy Dearest interactive. Among Friends events are always a winner. Great theatre staff
Always a great visit and movies there. Staff is really helpful
I love this place! My favorite theater of all time. They also serve full dinner and have a great bar and bartender as well. I suggest you try the summer retro film series where they present older films and then serve a dinner themed to match the film.
Great film festivals. Small vintage theater, lots of Indy films
A great old school theater. A very good cafe. Only suggestion is to update their seats.
Its very small! But we have enjoyed having been able to watch the short films there.
My favorite movie theater(s) in Palm Springs due to the selection of films, the lack of annoying pre-movie ads and the reasonable ticket prices.
Very nice theater that shows unique films. Been there a few times, both in the small theater and the large one. I prefer the large one, as it has that classic theater look too me. Going again this Wednesday. See you there!
Lovely little independent theater
I went to see a play here by Coyote Theater Players or something like that. It was an interesting play and well-acted. Nice old theater. They show movies here too and have a well-stocked concession stand!
This is the best movie theatre in the Coachella Valley. It is like an old fashioned theatre where it is very easy to park and they has a small but very adequate concessions stand. There is also a restaurant upstairs if you want a complete meal. All the employees are kind and helpful. They do not try to nickel and dime you. They show more serious art house movies and documentaries. I think you can tell how much I appreciate this movie house !
Reat theatre, yummy popcorn, good seats for movies
The best movie theatre in the desert. The owners are so generous to the community. All year this theatre is ready to offer a place for culture events. Good food and drinks as well as great entertainment.
Really small theatre, I think they have only 3 screens. But the main one is really big and beautiful. It is in a good location and the staff is very friendly
I like not having to get an assigned seat. Very comfortable.
A great place to see movies you normally wouldnt see at the mainstream movie theaters
Great new movie by Almodovar
Excellent Chicken Tortilla Soup, which warmed me up on a cold afternoon. Staff was friendly & attentive. Cleanest movie house restroom, Ive ever seen.
What a fun theatre! It reminded me of what Palm Springs was like when I was a little girl. It is like being taken back to the early 50s. Wasnt wild about the movie, but the staff and ambiance was great
Theyre working on improving it as the Palm Springs Cultural Center.
Very quaint, best place to see Indy and foreign films. They have interesting film series. I heard the cafe was good but I havent been yet
Now called the Palm Springs Cultural Center. Movie house, hosts the PSIFF yearly and other great events.
Very comfortable seating. Cool without being frigid. Ample available parking. Free electeic car charger.
Great place that recently got a facelift. Hosts many film festivals. Support local businesses!
Beautiful theater very well kept, clean and comfortable.
Great Palm Springs community asset.
It is always wonderful to attend an event at the Camelot Theater/Palm Springs Cultural Center!!!!
Had a nice time
This place its an old school cinema. There are three theaters one very large and two small. The Camelot Theater host several film festival thru the year. The is a full service restaurant on the second floor. The food its good and reasonable price.
Small, but cute... its our only indie movie theatre in Palm Springs, + I can buy beer or wine there, so by default it gets 5 stars.
Good movie theater
Awesome staff and great environment!
Great facility!
Great art house cinema! Has many cultural events and film festivals.
Great experience. Wonderful place with great staff.
PS Cultural center and a home for farmers markets, PSIFF, .....needs to figure out where their CUISINE scene is heading. Expensive movie eats, with a liquor licence.
Attended Live Performance by miss Richfield.Comfortable seating and a great theater for entertainment
Beautiful theater and friendly staff!
Everything you would expect from a quality theater
Overpriced and the seats were a little uncomfortable but other than that it was great
Love the movies and love the food. Feel very lucky to have an art house theater in town. The food prepared by Chef Hector is tasty as well as goodlooking. You receive a top quality meal for an affordable price. A feat accomplished without a rival in the valley!
Great movies shown here including International films. Hosts various film festivals. Has a restaurant upstairs. Feels like a movie house from days gone by.
Excellent theater. The chairs seem to be new, and are very comfortable. They serve alcohol too! They can show 70mm films as well.
Great time tonight for VALLEY OF THE DOLLS! Only complaint was A/C flow was low. Other than that, it was an awesome night out at the movies!!!
Love this theater its clean the lines are small the screen is huge and the staff A plus
A wonderful experience...very independent!
We travel from Redlands to re-experience the Camelot every chance we get!....
Awesome venue for independent filmmakers and festivals
They have great seats clean theater and 3 billboards is a great movie. Do a good deed by supporting Camelot and see one of the best movies of the year
Great place to see art films and wonderful foreign features. Rest room problems seem to be finally taken care of. A treasure for Palm Springs
A very nice theater. Old school classic.
Wonderful staff, service and theatre
I love this historical venue. Seats are comfortable & there is ample parking.
Fun time saw Valley of the Dolls
The Camelot is your favorite theater for everything it is not. It is not big, it is intimate. It wont show you the film that made most stars so super, but it hosts superstars favorite films. It wont let you sleep, it will wake you to new realities we face together.
We had a 6:30 dinner reservation at the cafe upstairs before the 8pm show. We got there and none of the 3 servers knew what to do. We were finally seated period. At 6:45 someone brought us water then walked away. At 6:50 we begged to have our order taken. Our food arrived at 7:45. We had 15 minutes to eat. This was no problem since the food was enedible. We again had to beg to be cashed out. What an absolute let down. Ill always go back for the movies, never again for the cafe.
What a Delight !!!Great evening, so HAPPY to know about this fun venue !
Its been a while but really enjoyed every visit. Nice theater with versatility.
Take your best girl to a picture show.Small, & friendly theatre
Usual movie theater but they specialize in Indy productions.
