We had a great time at Phipps Ocean Park. We arrived early and took advantage of the free parking before 1pm on the weekdays. The beach is well maintained and there’s a lot of space for people to have distance between them. We also really enjoyed the drive out to the beach as well. Seeing the amazing architecture of the homes that we passed by was an awesome experience. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy this beach on a weekday when it’s not too crowded.
This is a great Beach if you want something a little out of the way, quiet and very family-friendly. The beach has a lot of rocks on it which is a little unusual for South Florida but this is an area where you can take a few minute walk and be all by yourself with the whole Beach to yourself. Lots of little reefs to snorkel and the grilling and picnic area is on the top of the Dune so the view is great and most of them have a tiki hut to shade you from the Sun. One of my favorite beaches to take the family for a Sunday afternoon picnic. It also has two hour free parking which is hard to find in Palm Beach.
Beautiful beach and park! The heavy set female life guard is always surfing in the swimming areas and almost hit three people swimming. The rules say no surfing at this beach, see the rules, yet this heavy set female life guard uses the town surf board for an hour today surfing and bothering visitors here. She also swims, jogs, and socializes a lot when working, almost never works, having fun on the dime of the tax payer it seems. The problem with this beach is the life guards do not enforce or abide by the rules here, they do not enforce and allow dogs on the beach, surfing, and fishing, no one police or the life guards do anything. Most of the life guards do not seem to take their jobs seriously, they are surfing, jogging, swimming, and socializing with people instead of being in the tower watching and protecting swimmers. This heavy set life guard she wears a THONG and has a lot of obesity and her butt sticks out and it does not look appropriate for the Town of Palm Beach life guard attire, using a thong, she looks like she belongs in a nudist beach instead, she looks very unprofessional, dont they have a uniform in Palm Beach? and then today for her to surf where people are swimming and almost hit them with her and her big rescue surfboard, she showed little education or consideration, not any smarts, to be surfing so close to swimmers and their were some waves today. Wonder if there was an emergency and they needed that surf board to rescue someone and she is out goofing around for hours on end. Crazy. A lot of waste by employees here, the life guards are always jogging, swimming, surfing, and socializing while working, you have to wonder if there is anyone watching out for us in the tower. Surprising the town would allow this.Parking is expensive here! $5 an hour, it is a lot!To go down to the beach, there is a huge drop off down, it is dangerous, they should dig it down to make it easier for people, especially seniors. This beach is nice, all nature is, it is the people that ruin it by not following rules or enforcing them. The bathrooms here, are the stinkiest and dirtiest of any in the county. A lot of people drink and abuse alcohol here too, bottles all over, yet it says no alcohol, no one enforces anything or respects any rules here. Lots of dogs and fishing on beach, but sign says none is allowed, no one obeys rules here. The beach is beautiful, all nature is, it is the people that ruin it all.
I am giving this place a 5 stars rating because even though it feels abandoned by the Palm Beach County Park and Recreation department (and/or the Palm Beach County government) it is my favorite beach spot in the Palm Beaches. Its a very beautiful place and calm. If you sit on top of the boardwalk, the views your get to your surroundings is breathtaking and there is vegetation good enough to sooth your body from the heat of the day. I wish they could use some money to repair this facility.
Very pleased that it was possible to still social distance and enjoy the water!! Best hour and a half in public with my kids in 3 months!! But theres a lot of hidden and sharp rocks in water to stub toes on so you have to be careful. And its really steep after set of stairs to get down to beach, quite a drop and even going around wasnt the easiest.
Great place to relax and chill for the day, bring a beach umbrella as there arent any trees to shade under.
5$/hr is outrageous. Not sure why they took the two hour free parking at any time away. After a long day I would love to go fish the beach or take a walk but paying 5$ or over everyday adds up.(the put the 2 hour parking back up)
Very private. No restaurants, so a lot less people. Still nice scenery, a bit much seaweed. But better than walking on hard and sharp rocks. Great waves too.
This is a nice little beach/park area to go to and chill. It’s 5$ an hour for parking and sometimes there are rocks on the floor in the water so be careful, but there is a lifeguard and generally it’s a nice beach. The park area just before the beach is also really nice. Picnic areas, restrooms, and showers. If you’re looking for a more peaceful location than downtown lake worth beach, this is a great place to go.
Very nice, clean, not crowded at least today. Parking available.
Clean quiet and tucked away a great beach that we just found out about, has a few tiki huts and grills for BBQ
I little gem of a beach park. Parking is a little over $5 per hour however free parking spots available from 8 am to 1 pm. Picnic tables under many shady areas before beach entrance.
Beautiful park. Good amenities and parking aerea.
Beautiful beach. Great place to cookout
Nice public beach, parking is free for 2 hours, from 8 to 13.
Peaceful clean and beautiful. I drive all the way from Hollywood to have great beach time. There’s a lifeguard area, and an area without.
It was much less crowded than the pier area. However, there was so much trash all over the beach it was pretty disgusting. The erosion of the sand was also very bad, I have a bad ankle and couldnt navigate the steep drops and climbs to get on/off the beach. There was lots of washed up concrete and sea kelp that was dangerous. We had to be very careful where you stepped in the water, more than usual.
Very nice park. Beach was soft.... Windy and lots of jellyfish on the beach, but none seen in the water and no one was stung. Cant fault the location over weather and fauna. Will definitely be back!
Lovely section of beach just south of Mar aLago.Careful! Wear flip flops because the unique limestone rock formations, while beautiful forma distance, can be sharp to walk on.Parking is not free. This is still Palm Beach, after all.
We like coming to this beach because it is more secluded and its very nice. Parking is a bit expensive but just like any other beach in Palm beach
Beautiful beach. Went at dusk and theres FREE two hour parking!
Great access and plenty of parking.
This beach is quiet, fairly well maintained, and we always find a place to park quickly. During our last visit, the water was crystal clear!
If moderate seclusion is what your after, this is a good beach to go to in the evening. It can draw crowds on holidays, but what beach in south florida doesnt? It is clean and the water is beautiful aside from the occasional seaweed. What I am particularly fond is the newly established 2 hour free parking. With downtown Lake Worth a mile away, this is a great place to spend the day.
Awesome spot to access the beach parking is $5 a hour but worth it.
I love Phipps Park laid back quiet and has free parking available
Watching the sunrise is always my favorite start of Sunday
Nice quiet section of beach, great fishing!
Awesome beach park and not many people
I love this beach 100% my favorite parking is $5.35 per hour
Awesome beach! Not busy at all
Beautiful ocean front park .
Great spot and views.
The free 2 hour parking is only for a certain time of day. You have to pay attention. The place is beautiful and convenient. The beach people are friendly. The water is a nice temp even in early NOV. We didnt get to get in too far because of the depth and drop off. No life guards. The sand is course.
Easy parking with tiki huts ang grills by the beach.
Great quiet beach for fishing or just hanging out.
Well kept. Restrooms and parking. Was close to my hotel. Pleasant relaxing walk. Quite.
A beautiful beach day.
Great privately beach, a hidden gem for relaxation
Nice beachfront park. You can find a less crowded spot on the beach than at the LW beach.
One of my favorite places, bring money for parking
Ocean was calm and beautiful. Virtually no sea weed . Very few people on beach or in water so it made social distancing very ready !
I love that you get two hours free parking from 8am-1pm. I do wish the time limit was from open to close. Its always kept clean, the restrooms are kept clean. And I just love the beach... I like it better then going to lake worth pier, because its almost like having your own private beach.
It could be a wonderful public beach access spot as there is onsite parking, washrooms, lifeguard and BBQ areas.Unfortunately, once you go over the berm it is very steep to try to get down to the actual beach.
Tidal pools. Shells. The climb down and up was much easier than a person would anticipate due to the low population of the beach.
We visited early one morning before any crowds. It was a lovely beach close to where we were staying in West Palm Beach.
Ive loved this park side i was a child. Lots of great memories here. Its a beautiful park with lots of shade trees and picnic areas. Parking cost is a little steep at $5hr, but its worth it.
Pretty good place to relax. Parking is a bit expensive unless you can park on the free spots but you can only be on those for 2 hr. They have a pretty strict parking enforcement team so dont play with the parking time.
Beach is a beach. Quiet, tranquil.
Convenient access to the beach ...
It is fairly low key, has a two hour free parking option if spaces are available and restrooms.
Free 2 hour parking. Quiet beach to enjoy the ocean. Relaxing!
The best relax beach.
Its always a pleasure going to this beach, you pay for parking with an app or with the machine with a credit card or like I said through the app which is cool because if you need more time u can do it on your phone w/out having to go all the way back to the parking lot . The beach is kept clean & all the times that I have gone, its been very quiet & peaceful
Free parking is available. OK Beach. Usually steep banks to descend to reach the water. Some
Nice place to take your family
It is so peaceful first thing in the morning. But, be aware of people walking their dogs of leash. Its kinda startling have a dog rush at you even if you have your own dog on a leash. For that reason I wont go there again
Beautiful view. Clean beach.
Today was the first day and I loved it, but not sure if Im going to be here too often as the parking is $5 per hour.
This park is quiet and you get a great view of the beach and the sea. Cannot come here very often but I really enjoy it when I can come.
Pretty high dollar rent district
This is an awesome local beach. Its never been too crowded whenever Ive come and it seems to be well kept. They also have a nice sitting area by the parking lot. Its a bit of a further drive than the beach by my house but the drive is worth it in my opinion.
Not a lot of sunbathers!Ocean was very clear.
OMG!!! Where can you find an almost empty beach these days? This place is perfect! $5 per hour parking but who cares for a pristine, empty beach?
Normally a nice beach, just alot of erosion from last storm.
Great place to relax and unwind
Beautiful beach but its $5per hour that you park there
Quiet place. Great beach. All staff for barbeques and the best, west palm beach police officers r great. Thank you
Parking was a bit confusing but beach clean.
Any time you can be by the water is beautiful. The ocean is really where you can be in salt bit it wont raise your blood pressure.
Weve been coming here with the family for years get place to beach and grill!
Great Beach that most tourists do not know about. And they have free 2-hour parking! Paid parking is expensive however.
Very nice park to the beach. Good clear water. Great sand.
Great park but way too many parking spots will be available soon with the refurbishing... Eeek! Too many people. Wish visitors would pick up after themselves. Especially on holidays when garbage bins are overflowing. Try harder, people - we live here. Thanks to those who try to keep it nice. Appreciate it. Beautiful beach to walk.
One of my favorites spots. Especially the north side.
Always a clean and comfortable place to be. Off the beaten track from the Lake Worth beach so its usually more secluded and quiet. Nice place to just relax.
I love Phipps ocean Park
This is a great Beach that hardly anyone knows about or at least never visits lol. They have free two hour parking spots and the beach is almost always desolate. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy yourself while youre there without feeling like your space is being encroached by other people nearby. Bring your lawn chairs, Beach towels and umbrella for a great time!
It nade
Free 2 hour parking. Beautiful day. The beach wasnt crowded. There are a few steps up then a few steps down... (so if you have difficulty walking you may want to find a different access point)
Sand sun and wave, life is always better by the sea
Great place to be
Nice and beautiful place
Nice good Beach, but sadly lost of plastic.
Awesome beach & picnic area. Has restrooms.
Absolutely beautiful, relaxing, just an amazing place to barbecue and hang out for the day.
This is a nice little ocean park. Not far from Palm Beach but it has a parking lot and restrooms which Palm Beach does not have. It still has $5 an hour parking though which is a bummer. You have to head to a north county beach if you want free parking.
Nice beach, not too crowded and awesome scenery!
Water was perfect parking is free till 1pm, perfect spot!
Great place to get re centered.
