So understand COVID downside but audio tour no longer provided. A bad Flagler Museum app (which, unless you carry earbuds around has another set of issues) that does not work more than it does or a boilerplate brochure is offered instead. If hearing impaired, no services. Tour is pretty much just walking around. Update your website and tell people what to expect before rather than after they have paid.

This is a splendid mansion and museum. I particularly liked the Room in which there were paintings above the doors and windows that depicted pastoral scenes of enjoyment. These encouraged themes of discussion that were casual and pleasant .This Room was meant for light hearted subjects . I believe Henry understood the need for mental hygiene given his experiences. Superlatives can only attempt to describe this heavenly place. You it must see it. Our docent showed command and warmth for her subject.

What a breathtaking place to visit. This is the very first museum I have ever visited and I was very happy that I got this opportunity. My first time coming to this museum was with my chorus at John I. Leonard Highschool. We performed at this museum during Christmas time as part of one of our performing/singing gigs. We sang “Hot Chocolate” Polar Express and we did outstanding. I always used to say this Musem resembled the White House. Truly beautiful.

The Henry Flagler museum is a fun location to visit while in West Palm Beach. They have the house well air conditioned and it is very nice to cooly enjoy history. The entrance is around $18 but sometimes they will have specials that let you come back for free or they have free days every now and then. They also host events at the hall and you can contact the business section for more information. Their gift shop has some nice Florida history pieces and books. The rooms and history has been well preserved and is a good 45 minute to 75 minute self toured location.

Don’t waste your vacation dollars here!! The employees are very unfriendly and this is highly overrated. I Have a service dog and the man at the front entrance stated “no dogs allowed “ We explained the circumstance with my disability and this highly uneducated and rude individual actually told me they only allow service dogs if you’re in a wheelchair!!!! Moments later the manager tried to argue that the museum is ADA compliant and nothing could be further from the truth. They are cruel, arrogant and hateful people. After a frustrating ordeal and no apology from the manager I got a refund and left. The manager had no conflict resolution skills and did not attempt to resolve the issue whatsoever. They really are not interested in sharing the legacy of Mr. Flagler and his family but rather a wedding venue—-however I certainly wouldn’t waste my money as there are so many more beautiful places in southern Florida for a memorable wedding. You and your guests don’t need to be treated like second-class citizens.Ironically we were the only visitors at the museum and it was no surprise after finding out how rude employees are at the Flagler museum.Don’t waste the $18 per person to deal with these hateful people—maybe they’ll have a disability someday and understand what it’s like to be treated like this . It was absolutely horrible And cruel

We visited the museum while on vacation to West Palm at Christmastime. We spent much longer at the museum than anticipated because it was such a great visit. We took a guided tour with a docent which made the experience even better. They were also offering seasonal Gilded Age high tea in the pavilion. The food and drinks were worth the money. The only suggestion is to allow patrons to pay after the meal to include a tip if paying by card. Tipping could only be done with cash (which we rarely carry on us). The mansion and railcar are beautifully restored. Definitely worth the time and money.

The guide takes you to the first room and then spoke for 45 minutes straight. Your standing the whole time. My older relatives had a hard time standing for 45 minutes. We left the tour. They should spend maybe 5 to 10 minutes per room. Keep the people moving. Also they had about 40 people in one group. They should have maybe 15 people tops

My friend and I went to the Flagler Museum yesterday for a tour and High Tea. We had our High Tea first, it was a joke!!!!!! The tray consisted of little pieces of nothing, scones so sugary, they tasted like they were microwaved, no cream or butter to go with them. The waitress said the scones were so buttery we would not need them!! Hello!! This was hysterical. We were starving, THEN, to top it off no selection of Tea, except black tea, (tasted like Lipton Tea to us)!! Please, I cannot overstate the disappointment we had expierenced! Never again for eating anything there!! Tourist trap!! The tour was great, that I must say, then after, we ended up eating out, we were starving!! $40.00!!! What a joke!! I have been to many High Teas through the years, never have I endured such a pathetic imitation of High Tea!!! Skip it if all possible!!

This museum was built as the private home of Henry Flagler as a gift for his third wife and was intended from the start to someday be a museum. Built in the gilded age, this home compares to the Vanderbilts Biltmore Home in Asheville, albeit on a much smaller scale. You can go room to room and get a sense not only of how the Flaglers lives but of notions and customs of the day. When we visited, there was an art exhibit on the second floor -- this one devoted to harem culture in turn-of-the-century middle east, a subject of some of the artwork in Flaglers collection. I think admission was $18. There is no food but a nice gift shop. A worthwhile activity leading to a greater sense of the history of our area.

Whitehall is a 75-room Gilded Age mansion open to the public in Palm Beach, Florida in the United States. Completed in 1902, it is a major example of neoclassical Beaux Arts architecture designed by Carrère and Hastings for Henry Flagler, a leading captain of industry in the late 19th century, and a leading developer of Florida as a tourist destination. The building is listed a National Historic Landmark. It now houses the Flagler Museum, named after its builder. Henry Flagler, one of the founders of Standard Oil, built Whitehall for his third wife, Mary Lily Kenan. The site of the home was purchased for $50,000 in 1893 (as of 2010 that would be $1,197,562.39) by Flagler; later surveyed for construction in July 1900 and the home completed in time for Flagler and his wife to move in on February 6, 1902. The architects were Carrère and Hastings, who had earlier designed the Ponce de Leon Hotel and several other buildings in St. Augustine for Flagler. Whitehall was to be a winter residence, and Henry gave it to Mary Lily as a wedding present. They would travel to Palm Beach each year in one of their own private railcars, one of which was No. 91.Flagler died of injuries sustained in falling down a flight of marble stairs at Whitehall in 1913, at the age of 83. Mary Lily died four years later, and the home was devised to her niece Louise Clisby Wise Lewis, who sold the property to investors. They constructed a 300-room, ten-story addition to the west side of the building, obliterating Mr. Flaglers offices, the housekeepers apartment, and altering the original kitchen and pantry area. Carrere and Hastings were the architects of the 1925 reconstruction. In 1939 it was described as a $4,000,000 building and Palm Beachs second-largest hotel. In 1959, the site was saved from demolition by one of Henry Flaglers granddaughters Jean Flagler Matthews. She established the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum non-profit corporation, which purchased the building in 1959, opening it as a museum in 1960. The upper ten stories of the hotel addition were demolished in 1963 in preparing the museum for the public.Today, Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public as the Flagler Museum, featuring guided tours, changing exhibits, and special programs. It also hosts a variety of local galas and balls throughout the year. The Museum is located at Cocoanut Row and Whitehall Way, Palm Beach.

Worth a visit, inside and outside.During lunch time, there is an option for a so-called afternoon tea as it is unfortunately served, without the indispensable clotted cream, but which on the other hand, comes with a bad sound system composed of a single speaker, screaming distorted opera music in the background. That being said, beautiful room and views.MISSING: benches outside fences, while we are waiting for our ride. Absolutely no place to seat whatsoever. Unacceptable.

They’ve let the grass grow wild which makes for some nice photography but it’s starting to look unkept. It’s a shame they gated off the iconic Kapok tree. Seems everything in palm beach county needs some sort of fee to access it. Smh.The trail is still nice to walk and the view by the museum and water is still picturesque.
