A lot of shade from the tall trees which makes it ideal place for birding and nature walking. There’s a paved sidewalk all the way to the beautiful gazebo, wheelchair accesible. The other paths are dirt trails and could be a bit uneven or slippery so use proper shoes might be needed if planning to go for a run/jog. This is a pretty secure and calm area. I just wish they had a water fountain and restrooms.
What a peaceful place to stroll, jog, run, or read or meditate. No bikes though; but hey, lots of tortoises.
Very beautiful place to walk and hike! The dirt trails are a little soft so be careful very easily can you twist an ankle!! Wear hiking shoes or boots! I own The Millimeter To My Lens and this is a #1 spot to take beautiful family photos, graduation photos, maternity photos and wedding photos!! Google search me today to book a shoot at this beautiful location!
Im not sure about this place. It was too secluded and empty for me. My friend and I started the trail and we turned back after a minute into walking. We started to get scared. I did saw a cute little turtle though. From some of the reviews I saw online, there is a little sitting area at the end overlooking the water but I didnt make it that far on the trail.
This is a beautiful place and its ranked ~20 for top birding locations in Palm Beach County. My son and I frequent here for birding and we have a great time. Never fail, we easily spend a couple hours here and hike different trails every time. Even at its busiest I havent seen many people there, at least I havent ran into them while hiking, so its pretty relaxing if youre looking to enjoy some alone time.
Paved and unpaved trails, tons of birds and fish. Beautiful flora
Beautiful place for a nice hike. Well maintained. The only thing they need improvement on is more parking and need a bathroom facility
I would give this place a 5 star if it had a bathroom, other than that it is worth the drive out there and to see all the wildlife. Bring water and your camera.
Really nice trails. The brush REALLY needs to be cleared, especially for a preserve that educates you on gopher tortoises when you walk in. There were no brochure available, which really would have been helpful for navigation on the trails. I would rate it better if it was better cared for, because the plants and layout are very nice for a nature walk.
Wonderful place to walk through the woods
Beautiful oak hammock paved trail with palm trees that leads to a large pond overlook. Keep going off trail to find pine flats and a cypress swamp with a variety of birds, tortoises and one tight little trail that makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, not the middle of Palm Beach Gardens, great place.
Park is OK. Nothing special. Whatever you do, dont go on the blue path. Ive never encountered mosquitoes that bad. They were swarming us. That path should be closed or at least a warning sign.
Beautiful, big, clean are the perfect words to describe this place.
Get out and enjoy the natural forest ️ It’s always a great experience ️️️
Very nice place to spend 1+ hours hiking, walking and just enjoying nature.
Went here for a quiet shaded stroll. Place to find impromptu picnic.a gazebo looking out at the lake. Mezimorized by the jumping white ringed lip fish.that kept us entertained.
Peaceful and Hidden. Good place to unwind
Nice place for a walk. Use restroom before coming here. NO PUBLIC BATHROOMS..
Loved the truck! The only issue is beyond some distance we lost the trail and ended up towards the side of the main road. Again took a u turn to come to same place to return. It is very nice track of an hour.... will visit again.
Very nice and relaxing trail, map was a little confusing.
Very peaceful. Love the pier and fish jumping out of the water
Great little park! Beautiful old growth trees
Great place to walk and enjoy nature in peace. Beautiful scenery and nice long trails.
Map is poor. The paths are unnamed once entering area.Never found birding path. Blue path had been tilled making it very difficult to walk on. Saw about 5 species of birds.Positive was seeing small approximately 3 Gopher tortoise eating grass on the path.
Always fun and relaxing. Enjoying the wonderful Florida landscape.
A nice park with a variety of trails to walk on. I usually take the paved path during my lunch break just to get a little exercise and fresh air. There’s lots of birds and native plants to see. At the covered dock I saw a River Otter chasing fish.
This place is truly a treasure amidst the madness of life as we know it. A great place to find stillness and peace. I love it. Especially how RAW and unfiltered the nature is. So natural without being manipulated to be perfectly clean and orderly. Just as Nature should be. Thank you for this place
Not really a kid place
This place is amazing the park has different trails, so I have to go back because I couldn’t finish it all in one day. In the beginning trail is paved but to get to boardwalk a good half mile in grass and dirt which was really fun. The boardwalk isn’t long but bring water because there so many trails.
Nice little forest preserve for a walk. Paved trail good for strollers. Little lookout area over the water as well.
We love taking our kids here!
Good mix of shady and non shady areas. Decent trails, but perhaps a little too short. All trails combined would get you about 3 miles.
Small but charming, definitely worth a look! .5 mile paved path for strollers or elderly folks who might not have sure footing on rough terrain. Longer 1.3 mile loop of packed dirt trail for runners or walkers too.
Very lovely, small park. The shade from the mature oaks and pine trees make this a pleasant walk even on a very hot day. There is also a cool breeze coming off the water. A hidden jewel in a developed area. I saw an atala butterfly!
Nice park overall. Great for biking and hiking except some person in the 40s with a blue bicycle walks around the parking lot saying the F words at you for no reason.Spooky looking dude.
Its a nice calm place for a little hike. Perfect for a small group hike.
Great nature trails right in our backyard, many trails, bring water, hat walking shoes and an adventurous spirit. No dogs allowed.
Awesome nature center. Very busy. Interesting conservation exhibits. Lots of manatees and fish to see.
This was a lovely walk most of the area is under canopy making it less prone to sun. Lots of cute wildlife. Nice sitting area on a cute lake. BRING BUG SPRAY!
So beautiful and peaceful! Love the tortoises!
Something unique
A bit basic, but a great local place to have a quiet walk
I love coming here, its usually not crowded and its very peaceful. Ive been wandering through here for years!
Took the opportunity to go in the middle of the day on one of our Florida winter days! Our 69° Winter weather also allowed me to avoid most of the animals that could have surprised me along the way! This lovely trail for a walker but not a birdwatcher was great and was well marked no not necessarily comprehensive and how to not get a little turned upside down the first time. Im pretty sure I did a double loop of a figure 8 at some point getting messed up at the bridge that was yellow and one side read on the other side! I found the trail to be nice and wide which probably accommodated their trucks and work vehicles that kept the grounds clean, but it also allowed for multiple people to be on the trail without bunching up. It was perfectly shady and sunny as a mix Kelly between one and 3 PM. They were only six or seven parking spaces, so I can see how that would possibly become a problem at the more popular times of day.
Nice for a walk in Florida nature.
The wet, low-lying areas of this 172-acre natural area were once part of the headwaters of Lake Worth Creek, a meandering blackwater creek that flowed north to the Loxahatachee River. Over 500 animal and 200 plant species call this site home including great horned owl, red-bellied woodpecker, gopher tortoise, red-shouldered hawk, fish, wading bird, and manatee.FeaturesBlazing Star Trail (paved) 0.4 milesSaw Palmetto Trail (sandy) 1.3 milesStaggerbush Trail (sandy) 0.6 milesArchies Creek Trail (sandy) 0.6 milesBoardwalk through cypress swampObservation platform overlooking tidal swampPart of the Great Florida Bird and Wildlife TrailPart of the Northeast Everglades Natural Area, or NENA.
Good place for nice walks in The natural environment
Love this place, no facilities or paved paths but a great natural area.
Its a really great place for walking! They have one nice observatory on the water. Small parking, kinda Wish they had maps around the park though. Over all it was a decent park from what I saw.
I loved it and I didnt even go far but I will be going deeper next time. I had to leave because we stumbled upon it. But Ill be returning there for an update.Heavy foliage and ton of squirrels n birds. So far from the few minutes I was in there it looked better than most natural areas. I got to the pond/lake and turned around. Very nice.
Beautiful trails, scenery, vegetation, wildlife, boardwalks. Could spend a whole day here easily!
Located behind the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens is the 158 acre Frenchmans Forest Natural Area. The Blazing Star is an almost half a mile paved path. From that path branches out three other paths of varying lengths that are sandy and not wheelchair accessible. The sandy paths are marked by posts with colored paint on them. As long as you follow the paths you cant get lost. The main yellow sandy path that takes you to the boardwalk is Saw Palmetto Hiking Trail. From there I followed the red Staggerbush path as far as it went back. The only thing I saw alive was a couple of lizards. At certain points the Staggerbush path connects to the blue Archies Creek hiking trail. If you walk all the paths expect to cover almost three miles. The walk is a little more difficult in places because your foot is sinking into the sand.In addition to the paths there is an observation platform overlooking a lake. I saw some big fish under the platform. Apparently over 500 species of animals and 200 species of plants call this preserve home. As much as I searched for the gopher tortoises I never found one but thats okay. Going out in nature is not like going to the zoo. You are never guaranteed that you will see wildlife and I like animals to live free. Another important thing to note is there are no restrooms here.
Local gem. Saw gator, tadpole, fish and flora.
Frenchmans Forest Natural Area is a favorite place I visit several times a week. It is quiet, well maintained and a beautiful spot to walk serenely while enjoying nature. Plus you never know what you will see: lots of turtles, squirrels and birds. An occasional raccoon, armadillo or river otter and today, 2/1/2014, three Florida bobcats!
Beautiful park with many different ecosystems. Large park in the middle of a city so it gives you the feel of being away from everything. Nice overlook and large boardwalk.
Nice but way to over grown.
This is not a handicapped friendly park and its not maintained lots of dead pines.
Nice woodsy walk. Spotted yellow sulfur butterflies.
Advertised online as having dog friendly nature walks... It does not.
Natural beauty and a relaxing place to relax the mind! Gods paradise in nature!
Nice walking trails they have concrete and dirt paths. Enough hiking to make u sweat and many different routes to take
Love this place for a nice nature walk!
Beautiful and amazing! Great exercise too
Quiet and not too busy when Ive gone. Great place for a walk or hike
Great memories
Totally loved it, nice little peaceful, quiet trail in Florida with lots of shade. I definitely love it except pets are not allowed

Beautiful area, perfect place to chill and light up
Beautiful
Great spot!Beautiful nature!
Great place close to home for my wife and I to take a nice walk in the woods . It truly feels like you are out in the middle of a remote section of woods. Many birds, gopher tortoises, and even a bunny rabbit.
Great place for a quiet walk. Bring water
If youre a nature buff as I am then youve got to check out this spot! Peace and quiet.
Great little park right in the heart of the city, but you feel like youre in a deep forest.
I got lost out here once and witnessed a random bush lady grab a turtle and run into the woods.Hope the turtle was ok...
Reminded me of my childhood trails as a boy scout!
Great park for easy walking and birding.
Gorgeous and peaceful.
Is beautiful
Lovely sight to see.
