Nice boat launch. Easy to dock and launch. The retaining wall has seen better days. The park has plenty of space for multiple gatherings and is usually not a busy place. Lots of trash cans available so no reason not to use them.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Seriously. They took just about everything out but the little playground set. It shouldnt even be listed as somewhere to take your kids. Picnic? Sure. Fish for nasty un-edible fish? You betcha. Play? Thats a big negative.

Great to fish, play volleyball play soccer . They also have grills posted . Starved Rock is 5 miles near by . The stores are near by and also fast food places and gas stations . This park is dog friendly has benches posted all along the park and yes there is shade . Come out here for some fun .

I ended up going to this park due to Starved rock and Mathieson being closed. It was okay, flooded the day I went. But it was nice for a small stroll.

Ottawa, Illinois is a great little town. I like Allen Park...along the Illinois River. First off, one of Peter Toth’s Whispering Giants stands along the river. There are other unique art pieces as well, including two pieces designed using parts from an old bridge. Fun place!

Allen Park is always a cool place, regardless of the seasons. Today, with snow on the ground and 8 degree temps, the toboggan slides were open and kids were having fun. The Illinois River is frozen over, but the barges still cut thru the ice.

Having a great 4th of July picnic with the family. Doesnt get any better than this.

Great place to fish or just hang out and sit along the river and enjoy the view.

Great place to go for families or just to be by yourself. Its calm quiet, and a great place to collect your thoughts and relax people fish and have birthday parties, theres a couple of bout launching spots to take your boat out on the river as well. Speed limit through the park is 15 mph so you dont hurt anyone if they walk onto the road. Be causious and watch for children and anyone else. Theres also a playground for the kids. My kids love going here. They can watch the barges and people on their boats as well as play on the play equipment.

Impossible to find but if you are persistant, you will get there. Try to ignore the hideous yellow industrial iron beam abomoninations. You call this a sculpture? Please tear this ugly thing down! It destroys any natural ambience the rover park projects.

Great place to watch Ottawa fireworks! Great fishing all along. Has lots of holes in the grass & sidewalks along the river. Bathrooms are clean for it being a public park.

A good area for the family to visit including playground, sledding hills and toboggan run, a theater. The totem pole there is done by an artist that placed one per state, and oddly enough Ive run into one more elsewhere.

Allen park used to be a great place to visit due to its location and scenery with its vicinity to the rivers, but lately it has fallen to pieces with recent flooding taking its toll on the river walk (which should be condemned in its current state; it is not safe for pedestrians of any age which leaves only the street for walking, save one small section of sidewalk near the red sculpture where the tennis courts used to be. The street leaves a lot to be desired also, not only are they damaged from flooding, there are pedestrians and cars parked along the side making it narrow; some traffic may become blocked by boaters launching and Pokemon Go players pulling off and onto the road . LOL I think its nice that there is ample parking for vehicles with trailers; however, it can get congested especially on summer holiday weekends, especially 4th of July because the fireworks are launched near here on the river. The park has a benches, grills, picnic tables and shelters, a public restroom structure and portable units available, somewhat handicap accessible (but seems to me that it would come with challenges for those in need, but not impossible). The park has jungle gyms for kids (the structures are nice enough, but the ground around the play area needs tending to), and this park is THE PLACE to be for sledding in the winter; however, I believe the restrooms are closed during the winter season, so plan ahead. I feel as if Allen Park is in a transition state; the city hasnt done the small repairs right now because there is something bigger in store for this location including a new river walk (hopefully). Once the overhaul takes place (that I assume is going to happen), I feel as though it will be quite a site! (I just hope it is SOON!)

Its always quiet, well spaced out, and hosts a beautiful view of the river, downtown district, and one of the local high schools.

Its alright, but the equipment was worn out and old, and it was like squishy mud and the bathrooms are nasty. But it does have a beautiful veiw of the river if you dont mind sharing it with 100 geese :) lol
