Nice area for hiking but trails were not well marked. We were lost several times.
Nice secluded woodsy trails but they are not well marked. Was not sure where to park or what trails to take. Some of the trails looked like they hadnt been maintained in awhile.
Great mountain biking, flowy trails and jumps. Also there is a review written about google maps not giving correct directions. If you want to get to the parking area go down to the end of Colburn Drive.
So absolutely beautiful the trees are so tall especially the pines and the trails are so well kept what a beautiful walk! I love this place!
Place is beautiful, clean, and easily accessible. There is bow hunting allowed close to trails Which is worrisome if you are walking your dog but also is nice if you are a hunter. There is a dense population of wildlife and calming.
Its a good little hiking biking spot, some terain for all but the more comfertable you are with the area the better it gets to ride.
Went through the preserve on a run. The bank to the river is very steep. If you continue north it will get a little closer but can drop fairly steeply.
Good single track. Access trail at Coburn or Penobscot Street.
I set up the finishing job at Vinal stream. Now Olt needs 3-4 volunteers to finish the job for a 1 to 1 1/2 job to fill in 1 1/2 yeards 4 minus rocks. Tools provided.
Nice walk this Morning. Wooded trails are icy but passable with caution.
CLOSED if you follow Google maps you will enter a student housing area surrounded by a strong fence. No access to Piney Knoll Conservation Area if it still exists. Typical of Google Maps - based on five to six year old photos and info. Area may be accessibile by hiking along river but I have no idea where to start.
Great biking trails.
Great little nature retreat
A good amount of trails and different cool spots, next to the railroad and river too!
Five stars for nature.
Trails and woods, close to town, great trail running, hiking, mt biking, skiing.
Good place to visit to be outside
Can get lost exploring these trails
Never been there so, no info to give on it.
