Well it’s closed due to COVID right now, but we did some exploring on foot around the exterior and it’s quite lovely and unique for its windows, obviously, but also the gardens and surrounding area.

This historic site is really neat. They host a variety of events including concerts and food festivals. The home itself can be toured and everything has been restored from John D. Rockefeller. Its right on the river and the view is amazing. If your visiting the area I would recommend a stop here and then a visit to the gardens across the street.

Went with a friend from the University of Idaho. This was very interesting to learn about how philanthropic John D. Rockefeller was. The people who worked there were very informative and friendly! It was a free tour that you could either have a guide or do self-guided. Pretty location by the river too.

Excellent tour guide of a historic vacation home of John D. Rockefeller. Interesting info on an interesting life of a billionaire. From humble beginnings to a generous philanthropist, you see the softer side of Rockefeller as Neighbor John in Ormond Beach, Florida. Also, the tour and entrance to the home is free.

Beautiful building and grounds.. However, as a student of architecture, I was disappointed in the fact that they didnt stay true to the original building when it was refurbished... The living quarters were great, but the meeting rooms and the meeting hall were so white and modern and soooooo out of place..(really you hang fairy lights from the ceiling???)The grounds were immaculate and peaceful.. Aside from the guy who decided to light up a cig next to the pond..(please consider posting no smoking signs on the grounds.. Trying to enjoy the beauty of nature while someone blows nasty smoke around, then grinds the butts out and leaves it takes away from the ambiance)

A beautiful place to hold a smaller event. The location is picturesque and there are a lot of great photo ops. We were there for a wedding of about 50 people. The staff was super friendly, the bathrooms were spotless and the flow of the rooms worked well for the event. The photo was taken from the second floor of the dance floor.

Very educational. Not exactly what I expected but I understand. I was expecting to see original or replicas of exactly how the house was when he lived there. Seeing pictures and trying to visualize how the rooms looked back then was a bit challenging with little ones. Understanding that the house is used for art class, meetings and events is the reason some rooms have been modified.

Had a lot of fun and learned some interesting history of the place. It was more than Rockefellers mansion it a girls school. The diary entry and letter from the girl who was there when US soldiers were starting in Florida was really great to see. She talked about how she went on dates with the soldiers and that looking back it upsets her to think some of them didnt come home

Christmas at the Casements, the one-time winter home of John D. Rockefeller, is always a treat. We try not to miss the annual House and tree lighting ceremony. This year, the 40th anniversary event, was free and seemed to attract a larger than usual crowd. Volunteers are the key to the Casements, and to the Christmas event, which doubles as a fundraiser. The crafts are always a bargain. The baked goods are outstanding. If you have not made the annual event a tradition, you should.

A historical house of J.D. Rockefeller now used by the city of Ormand Beach for community activities. About a one hour tour that covers a great deal of the houses history. Our guide was bit wordy at times, but this gives you a chance to look at the photos. Hard to imagine how they all lived back in the day. Spend an hour or so here to see how Rockefeller lived as compared to his friend, Flagler, in St. Augustine. The gardens behind the house are nice to walk especially if the weather cooperates. Also going during the week is the best way to avoid the crowd, Check out their web site for more info.

The Casements is a great way to learn some of the history of early 20th century Florida. There is an interesting intersection of great minds and the movers and shakers of the Industrial Age right here in what was once the little Beach community of Ormond.
