First time at this trail. I must say it was well worth the drive. Before you even get to the site, the scenery is very soothing. Once you arrive you find a small parking lot with restrooms and picnic tables. Walk a few steps and you will see two different paths. I took the Fairy path. Saw some really cool tiny frogs. Fast little guys. Some were red and some black. The trail is very clean. I recommend you take a first aid kit, water, bug spray, snacks, a, camera and good sneakers. Also, Id you are not good remembering the path maybe something so that you can mark your path back. Saw a few fishes as well. Definitely is on my to go again list.

Amazing trail did it yesterday with 6 kids on 10/18/2020, bring water shoes and or flip flops as well as shoes or boots. lots of flooding. we had to turn around with less than 3/4 of a mile to the ruins parking lot because of pigmy rattlers everywhere along the edge of the creek. the kids were tired and not paying attention and the abundance of rattle snakes had us worried the kids would step on one. also lots of ticks but this trail is so beautiful and almost completely shaded then entire hike makes it worth coming back to.

Thanks to a very helpful source, I discovered Bulow Creek State Park recently. This place was a short drive from Orlando and it was well worth the drive. There was no cost to get in or park here. I took Oakland, my dog, since pets are allowed. We spent over 4 hours here walking through the woods on the various trails. We also walked over 12 miles here. I did not see the famous tree out here since I was tired from walking a lot and it was late in the evening at that point. We took the trail on the left that leads to other trails that leads to the ruins in the other park nearby. The trail is about 6 miles to get to the other park. The walk was beautiful through the woods, bridges, narrow paths, and amazing sites of nature. If you love Pokemon Go, then youre in luck for all the Pokestops and gyms along the way. Some parts felt a little scary being alone since I did not know who or what was lurking in the woods. Some parts felt like a maze, so be attentive to signs on the paths. I would highly recommend this park for photography opportunities, adventurous hiking, nature lovers, and wonderful exercise in the wonders of Florida. Well worth a visit. I would suggest to bring bug spray, lots of water, and a light snack if you plan on walking about 12 miles.

Reading the reviews ... We almost cancelled our reservation. Im Glad that we decided to come anyways. We had a hard time finding our site since we came after dark and the post with the number of the site was hand written on the electrical outlet. Decent spot, paved roads, beautiful landscape. The pool is a nice size and appears clean. The restrooms must have been remodeled because theyre beautiful. No complaints yet.

I love to explore old Florida history. This is a very nicely preserved old sugar Mill and cotton Plantation from the 1800s. You have to drive down a fairly long narrow roadway to get into the Park area. There are several trails, the ruins which are very interesting, an area you can have a picnic lunch, and also you can rent a kayak.

This a fun historical venue for the whole family. Short dirt road drive to actual entrance, $4 per vehicle, bring the correct amount, its an envelope placed in a box slot. Canoes, dock for bird watching and fishing, picnic area, small boat launch site, hiking, sugar mill ruins with signage/audio and interactive building. Public restrooms available. Great fun on a nice day.

It was a lovely park! Definitely not for small kids unless well supervised as the trails are highly uneven at portions and it does pose a small risk. However, its perfect for working out on the trail as the shortest trail is 2 miles and takes you through some beautiful terrain! Definitely worth a visit :)

We visited Bulow Creek and Bulow Plantation. Both are State Parks in the same area, but we drove from one to the other. The first was an ok area with a shirt uneventful hiking trail. There was a very neat Live Oak estimated at 3 - 5 hundred years old. The Plantation was really neat and worth the visit. The old sugar mill ruins were amazing and very educational.

Part of Florida Bird trails this walk takes you on level pathways to various habitats. Old growth hammocks with trees towering 100. Follow to old boat landing (on map it says crab spot). Saw people fishing, kayaking from Putin. Saw Barred Owl, Redtail, many shore birds, eagle, storks etc. Best to find a comfy spot and just sit and let nature come to you.

Overgrown now. SAD. Not being taken care of. It USED to be wonderful trails and beautiful walks. We found it horribly in need of cleaning up. Trees have overgrown a lot of the trail and there is evidence of wild pigs...I would not feel safe walking here alone anymore as seems like a creeper place to hang out and Id be nervous of my safety. So overgrown that it isnt used much in the area we went.

Ive been to this camping location many times over the past 10 years with various friends. It seems to be going downhill! Theres no elective for camping with electricity (a fan in my tent is very helpful if theres no air flow). When looking for a location for my travel trailer, we were told there was only one that had sewage available, however there are several not even listed on the map. And, whats premium / elite / standard is quite hard to understand. As a veteran, I asked about discount, was told that it was 20%. Then when I made reservation and paid, I was told there was already a discount given. How am I stopped to be sure Im not being lied to? No change in price means theres not a discount!I went to wash clothes and the lock was broke on the laundry room, plus machines took my money and the office said its operated by a different business! The lady in the office ended up talking about me (the person who had issues with frogs making to much noise), while she was talking to another guest. Rude woman!Im looking for other places to rent / vacation at now!!!!

Lovely spot for a walk - there are two trails, one is a fairly short (1/4 mile or so) nature loop the other is a 6 mile straight hike to the Bulow Plantation Ruins State park - both trails are well maintained and offer fairly peaceful walks through the woods and across the salt marsh on the way to the Plantation ruins. There is an enormous live oak estimated to be between 300 and 500 years old that appears to be straight from a fairy story at the parking lot of this park. Please note that there are two sections to this park with separate entrances and parking spots - you can hike from one to the other on the 6 mile hiking trail. The ruins are located a few miles north of Old Dixie Highway off of Kings Rd.

This is what old Florida use to look like. Absolutely incredible. There are ancient, giant live-oak trees some say 2,000 years old. Beautiful 3-6 mile walking trails, clean restrooms, 2 picnic tables under a shelter with a single pedistool barbecue and benches throughout the park. A must see if you would like to see what all of Florida use to look like.

Beautiful park, if coming from the beach, please slow down, and try not to hit all the little white butterflies, they are...everywhere...during spring/March, flying all over the place, across the road. Careless, stupid people were just speeding down the street, and smacking into them, I saw them landing in the middle of the road, it was so sad. :( The speed limit is too high, when all the butterflies are out, you have to curb your OCD for a few minutes, slow down to about 20mph at least, and avoid hitting them.
