Laurel Picnic Area

We enjoy hiking up the South Park drive in the winter when it is closed to autos because it isn’t muddy and it’s a good long climb if you go all the way up to skyline. We don’t always go the whole way before we turn around and it is still great exercise. Just keep your ears open and alert to bikers coming down the hill so you don’t help cause any accidents! It works both ways! They can be coming awfully fast, but they aren’t supposed to. Both parties are used to having the road to themselves I guess. I loved to bring my dog up there when he was still with us!
