Amazing views and an awesome place to hike. Some trails allow you to see the 3 bridges across bay. Parking is limited over weekends and fills up over weekend by 8. Roadside parking is available . A definite visit and such a calm getaway from the city

Beautiful spot with a significant view of the Bay area. The drive up through Tilden can be rather steep. Inspiration Point has a fairly large and very accessible parking lot and a number of trails that lead off from it.

This is one of the best hiking spots in the east bay area, it has a great view of the San Pablo reservour and with a small hike you can get a beautiful view of the bay. If you enjoy hiking you will have a great time, I also recomend point pinole.

Parking is always a mess but this is a great “escape” from the city. Take the paved trail on the left side of the lot for a pleasant out and back exercise.

I hate to share this wonderful place but here goes! It is my favorite place to go trail running and photograph friends! You do need a permit to go here though! That said let me describe the trail a little bit:Its about 3.5 miles round-trip.Really really wet and muddy at the start! Be prepared for that.Instead of annoying switch backs you get nice big bends and turns. Lots of hills, but a great place to work on down hill running. The last hill of the trail will be the most challenging as on your way back up it youll be running up 150 ft--wait, maybe better to say that its a half a mile uphill. This place is Serene and I love going solo for a peaceful run and stretch. Also just makes for a great hike. The views are just wonderful.I extend my run by crossing the street and heading down to the reservoir. When you get to the second street youll go downhill, not uphill.Happy running/shooting.

Inspiration Point and the Nimitz Trail offer some of the best views of the Bay Area. From Inspiration Point you can access the paved Nimitz Trail and easily hike the short, but steep trail to the Peace Grove to get an amazing 360° view of the Bay, Mt. Diablo and much more.

This place is the shiznit, especially on weekdays when not too many people are here. Weekends is a different story--way too many people and dogs. Dont even try riding your bike here on weekends like you own the place. On your left! On your left! fuggedaboutit! Most people are wearing masks, too. Thats how we do it in the pandemic.

One of the nicest a low exertion walks/hikes in the East Bay. Theres a peak along this path from which you can see both Mount Diablo on Mount Tam at the same time. There are also little angry elves, in pointy Little Boots, who run around with sharp little knives poking poking poking, and causing all kinds of mischief, so be careful

Nice and clean point that you can have a break after trails hiking. Two unisex Restrooms can be found on the beginning of Nimitz way trail. Great views of from both sides. This is the trail that you can walk even after rain - paved long trail from this point. Little shade, so avoid be here during hot sunny days. May be not able to find a parking lot sometimes. But I saw a lot cars parked along the side of the road. Do NOT go on that trail that need permit if you dont have it.

This place is a hidden gem of Berkeley merely 10 mins away. It has great views, a lot of trails. Visit early morning and you will witness the best sunrise views ever. Bring a jacket and a water bottle and try a two mile long Nimitz Trail, you will see a lot of wild life if you are early and maintain silence.

A 220 degree panaroma of gentle mountains, and the trail head for walks, either up to a vantage point, or down to the waters edge of the meandering reservoir. Great for either sunrise or sunset walks. Avoid the heat of the day because there is little shade.

Its my favorite walk in the Bay Area from here to the Peace Grove and its overlook (which has a 360 degree view). Anyone can do it. Long winding drive to get there and tough parking on weekends, but its worth it! No services so bring whatever you need. Especially your camera!! And look for the red tailed hawks.

Kinda pretty. The interpretive info shows an artists rendering of what it looked like before the Mediterranean grasses took over - rolling hills covered in flowers. The view now is very plain. Sad, actually.
