This is the perfect place for a brisk hike. If you want to hang out and get a small hike in, the areas in the front of the park are beautiful, but if you want to trek all the way from Orange to Irvine, you can do that as well. We’ve seen deer, turtles and various birds here. I guess it’s a chance to see the fun wildlife, not the scary. Then again, I’m sure Bobcat Trail go it’s name for a reason. Maybe go in a weekday if you’re into that?

Great pace for easy hikes. There are a few more difficult ones but nice place overall. Definitely bring water if it is hot out - parts of the hikes have no tree coverage and can get toasty.

If I could, I would give this place more than five stars. I didnt have time to take all of the trails but the one I did hike was breathtaking. The view at the top by the American Flag is unfathomable. Rumor has it on a very clear day you can even see the Catalina Islands from here!!! One of my friends found a little lizard while we were walking and so that definitley added to the experience.

Really nice to get out of the house and just be in nature. Also compared to places Ive hiked in past, these trails are clearly labeled and well maintained. Also if you are on horse back, there is clean water in a few places for the horses to stop and drink which I thought was really nice of the parks system to do.

Its name is misleading. It should have the word trail in the name. It has a play area for little ones, a restroom, a couple public grills but it mainly has all its foot traffic for the trails. The trails are definitely a beginners trail with its wildlife. I spotted a few rabbits, some quail and plenty of birds. There are definitely coyote and racoon droppings along the trail but none of the animals were seen when I went.

Super good place to go hiking, mountain biking and horse back riding. It has plenty variety for being so small. There are easy, medium and hard trails, so if you just want to go for a regular hike(and not kill your lungs) its the place for your. If you like crazy, adrenaline pumping bike rides you will enjoy it too. Just make sure to check the weather before you go and bring water! Bring more water if its hot!

Nice! Fun and easy hiking trails. After you park, head downwards and cross the creek by stepping on the cylinder stones. Head right and you will see a steep little wooden stair path built in the dirt. Follow the path about thirty feet.Thats where the waterfall pics are from. Cross the water path and head up trail to find a nature center. Thats the fun way.I think you can also go down the street where you park. Walk toward the park and follow a little trail by the bar b que pits, horse shoes, and picnic tables. Down to the left is a little trail that also leads to the waterfall.

Santiago Oaks Regional Park includes miles of hiking, bike and equestrian trails, a creek and a Nature Center inside an old Ranch House. There is also a wonderful Wedding & Reception Facilities on site (see photos). There is a 250 year old Oak tree that was burned in a wildfire years ago that continues to live and thrive. Nature is amazing! This is a wonderful park that is peaceful and a place where you can forget that you are just minutes from home and experience nature. Stop by the Ranger Station and say Hi to the OC Parks Ranger, Staff and Volunteers that help to manage this wonderful place.

Havent been to Weir Loop in awhile (post fire). Was pleased to see most everything was back in full growth and bloom. Trail is in good condition, updated trail sign postings were nice to see. Good intermediate trail for most, even though it says difficult. Stop at the top and gaze out to see inner OC, the one without concrete, condos and cars. Amazing.

Now this hiking park was amazing because you can enjoy the trails uphill which are full of flowers which the images will speak better than a thousand words, and then once you finished going up and down the hill trails and when you think everything is pretty much over about your hiking experience, then you discovered you still got much other different trails with different sceneries to go, we did a 2.5 hour hike on this one and pretty much covered 65% of it because about 35% was closed due to fire recovery, but that 65% hike was pretty much satisfactory, oh and the parking fee it was just $5 dollars and there was about 35% parking still available, now let the images speak by themselves everything else I cant cover with so much saying, lol!

Beautiful place. There are many trials you can take. So they have many options for you, you can either take a easy trail or moderate or difficult one depends on how much you wanna work. You can bring your dog here and parking was 5 bucks. Be careful though because there are rattlesnakes and poison ivy. But we didnt see any rattlesnakes but we did see poison ivy so be careful.

Nice quiet trail- probably an intermediate level because there are some hills involved. It has gotten overgrown with brush in one section, but not to the point where it actually covers the trail. There is still a fair number of people who use this trail, but I’ve never seen it crowded. Very peaceful and scenic hike, especially if you get there early. Springtime is ideal season due to all the wildflowers in bloom!

This is a great area for hikers and mountain bikers. A very beautiful sight. Be sure to pack lots of water and check trail apps for difficulty of trails. There are signs marking most trails and though they are not exactly directional, it is usually best to ask a local whats the direction flow (youll know them when you see them, or better yet theyll know you). There are many horse riding trails as well so be on the lookout for them and their droppings.

***Mon-Fri 3$, sat-sun 5$, holiday is 7$.***Please wait 3-5 days after rain for trails to open and recover. The rangers close it so the trails can heal from all the water erosion, people entering while close will seriously hurt the trails for those in the future. Walking, and biking on trails while still wet isnt just dangerous for you, but it creates low spots that trap water that become bigger and bigger creating erosion of the dirt trail till eventually you have a 5 foot wide canal or gutted path. If you get hurt while trails are wet and closed, not only are you trespassing, but they cant send emergency vehicles to you and will be forced to send a helicopter. So not only will you get fined, but ur footing that bill.Go to oc parks website, parks > Santiago oaks to find more info or call office.

Totally worth paying a couple bucks to explore this beautiful area. However, there seems to be a battle between horses and bikes here. The majority of the trails permit bikes and horses. The bikes go so fast they spook the horses, and everybody yells at one another... Maybe designate certain areas for each, and/or even certain days/times!?

We took the kids out for a hike this past weekend, it was our first time and we were tempted by the option of a short kid friendly hike. Its a nice park and for a weekend, we were pleasantly surprised that there werent more people here. We make it to the dam area, kids saw a few turtles and fish. Im hoping its just the time of year (and lack of any recent rainfall) but the water was a little murky looking. The Nature Center hike was quick (great for the kids). We did see a small snake...yikes!

Wonderful park in the heart of Coconut Grove. The park is clean and very amble with walk paths, on the water, and let friendly. The park has a large parking lot and also has a resident which is the fresh lemonade truck. The kids and adults loves the lemonade especially after a long hot day. The park also has sections that offer workout routines. The park looks great even after hurricane Irma got to it back in September. Another perk is that the park has very clean bathrooms for men and woman.

I have to admit that having just gotten into habitual hiking I have no place in suggesting what is good or what is bad for seasoned hikers looking for a serious challenge, thus my review is from said perspective. From my perspective this is a wonderful area to bring people of all ages to enjoy nature, and even a strenuous hike if you so desire. There are so many trails out here that I have returned three times and still have way more to see. My favorite trail so far was Mountain Goat, the view over the lush green valley from up top is to die for.I will be returning here, over and over, until I complete every trail the area has to offer.
