During this pandemic, when a lot of the attractions at this park are unavailable, they still are charging TWENTY TWO DOLLARS for a SINGLE PERSON to enter and fish. Add to that the credit card machine was down and I had to leave and go get cash, just to be told that despite the fact that the sign says $10, the cost is actually $22. I took my cash and drove away from there so fast. So if you want to overpay for a chance to catch a fish in a dinky little lake, this is definitely your spot. Especially considering Puddingstone is not very far at all and charges $10 for access to everything they have to offer. Even Castaic Lake only charges $10, give me a break!!

If your fishing then it is a very inviting and accommodating spot. As far as everything else it is semi-urban and disappointing. So weigh your options and plan according to your planned activities.

A nice place to relax and go fishing for trout and catfish. It will cost you $20 total for parking and fishing. Also, make sure that you have a California Fishing Permit you can get at Big 5 or Walmart. I asked the guard lady on my first visit if I have all that I needed after paying the $20 and she did not mention the License or Permit. I felt it was a setup because a few hours the Wildlife police arrived and gave me a ticket. The officer said to buy the License so that I can get a reduced fine which I did to not pay the full ticket that can cost almost $500. Surprisingly, the next day I came the man at the entry asked if I have the License to fish. So I think yesterday was a set-up and then they ppinted out on the yellow receipt covered by the white parking paper Valid Only with Fishing License. I wont argue that money goes to for good like maintenance and fish restocking but it is just an easy set-up to issue a ticket to reach quota.

Been years since I been there. Used to love this place for trout. Had some of the best fishing back in the day. They used to put big ones in there. I remember the line to get in after they stocked was down the street. Good Ole days!

Jo
Review №22

We went on a Saturday. It cost twelve bucks for kids an adult. The people working there tell you that they stock the lake with trout. Yeah they forget to tell you what day. They stocked it on a Thursday with trout and in two days they fished it out. So when Saturday comes around theres no trout in there. I spent $72 on five of us expecting to catch some trout not even a bite. I wont waste my time at this park again. Workers so that means a service was very bad dont waste your time.

Jo

Way too expensive to drive into the park if fishing in a vehicle and paying for each person to catch no fish $12 per vehicle $12 for each person to fish and for a daily fishing license required completely astronomicala

They always say they stock the lake every Thursday? But i think they put one trout in?? Nobody gets a bite here? Also they close @ 5PM and they make it known i mean everyone knows the park closes @ 5PM you dont have to keep driving around and around and around??? You should consider fixing the pool area? Last year it was closed?

Only reason this got a 5 star is because I took my grandson fishing for the first time. Kids at 4 years old shouldnt be charged the same as an adult. We were there 6 hours did not catch a fish and only seen one person catch a fish and they just stocked it the 23rd with 600lbs of fish. Will try elsewhere next time.

I Love this Lake! Ive been going to this lake since I was a baby boy. Cool festivals, sweet water park and splash Pad for the kids and great fishing all season!Drinking alcohol IS PERMITTED, this is a Regional State Park so bring your beer and wine and have a safe and healthy day. Always have a designated driver when drinking.Theres plenty of covered tables with benches for picnicking and stationary Bbqs available at each covered site. Im not sure on their policy of bringing your own BBQ but you can always call ahead and ask. The covered picnic areas are first come first served....Always make sure your Coals and Ashes are distinguished properly as to not burn down our beautiful state parkYou have to pay a fishing fee and park entrance fee but well worth the visit. Can get packed on the weekends due to birthday parties and fish stocking events but all around blast. Always plenty of parking!Respect our local Parks and Lakes and put your trash where it belongs! Tons of wild life and fun. Enjoy your visit and be safe!

Union Local 398 always have our Barbecue and summer meeting there in July and in the fifteen years Ive been in the trade and going weve never had any problems with anyone !!! Yeah theres Bigger and better parks in the state yet Guasti is very relaxed and comfortable place to hang out for the day or weekend

This park is very nice for kids. The are two jungle gyms, swings and a big splash pad for them to enjoy. Theres 2 lakes for fishing and you can even pedal boat for a fee but I wouldnt feel too comfortable taking advantage of that when theres people fishing on the big lake, as they can be pretty vocal about the boaters... the food concession stand is always closed for some reason and the pool is also closed for maintenance... its been a few years now so who knows how thats going. Overall, I always enjoy my time there but I do wish there was some shade in the jungle gym to prevent kids from getting severe burns in the heart of summer. As for the fishing, my husband always goes after theyve stocked and even he struggles to catch any fish most times... they only stock trout and catfish when in season but for whatever reason the fish dont really bite. At least everyone we talk to seems to agree.

The picnic area is very small few tables have shade theres no grass on most of the picnic tables. it is a small Park. The water play area is small as well as the playground area. it is on the quietside. lots of people go fishing and the water is green not very well kept Lake. You have to arrive early if you want to have a grill since theyre only a few. It is very clean since theres always people cleaning picking up the trash. for a picnic day is okay but, this Regional Park does not compare to Prado Regional, Jurupa Regional or Bonelli Park.

Guasti is a great park and it is a great really great place to be. A friend of mine would often fish there. And the family and I would spend time there. Its a very cozy and very community neighborhood type of park, for a regional park. And the only downside to this park I could say What be having to pay for parking, as well as when they have events big events, in the summertime, it gets pretty pretty bad. Other than that there is great wildlife, great landscaping and it is a wonderful beautiful park. I should take advantage, and recommend running running around the primitive or of the park, as there is a trail that goes around it. I recommend this park.
