Came here with my girls. Its small, but really nice. Showed the past 100 years of history of the city. And also the native tribes that were from this area. Really enjoyed it. Also, they had tables set up. One with games and blocks. One with coloring and wood shapes to paint and one with books about art and history. The gift shop had hand crafted items from local artists. Super friendly staff.
We arrived there 10 min before they opened so we decided to walk all around the muesum. It was actually a good idea that we did because they had description of the plants they had and history on the water fountain. I didnt get a chance to see everything inside because i had my kids with me and frankly they were bored lol but it was nice from what i saw. Its free amd pretty small. Not many people go there. My only complaint would be the times. Its 12-4 and friday-sunday only.
Interesting local old artifacts and modern art. Little gem tucked away that only some locals know about.
I love this museum. Not only does it have a fantastic museum full of Ontario and Inland Empire history, including Route 66 memorabilia. Youll also find regularly rotating special exhibits. Ive seen a few of them and so far Ive enjoyed each of these exhibits. Some that stand out are the clown/circus exhibit and the industrial art exhibit of Millard and Tony Sheets. The museum is located on the grounds of the original city hall and the first park in the city of Ontario, Nugents Park. The grounds have been completely redone to be water saving, but the lovely rose gardens are still intact and worth visiting for you rose lovers. The grounds remodel look awesome and have really updated the exterior of the property.
Hidden gem to find out about Ontarios history, and also enjoy new exhibits ; for free and welcoming staff
This place is a really cool little piece of history. Living in this city for my whole life, I never really knew much about it. After coming here and eventually volunteering here, I have come to know my city and its surrounding city very well. There is free admission here, so if you are looking for a cool spot for a cool day of history, this is it.
