I took the intro to handguns course with Instructors Derek and Red. They were both phenomenal and I loved learning from them. I have a very basic understanding of firearms as I’ve shot a few times before this class. I can tell those who never have fired handguns were appreciative of how the class was tailored to beginners. I HIGHLY recommend either of these trainers as they were both great. Thanks again guys. Cant wait for my CCW class in two weeks!!!

I took there Intro to hand gun class. I walked into the class feel unsure and not confident about my hand gun. D and red answered all my questions make sure that everyone felt safe and confident. They did and excellent job when demonstrating everything. They made sure that i knew how to hold and use my gun to my best ability. Most of all they made me feel confident that if i never need to use my gun in a situation that i could protect me or someone else safely. I will be taking my conceal to carry class with them. I will defiantly be recommending them and the facility!!!!

This place was great. They are great! Always very kind and helpful and just overall want to teach you to protect yourself. Anything else that has been said is just ridiculous.

My review will comment on two aspects of my experiences at 88 Tactical: instruction and customer service.Instruction: I have had basic-level handgun classes from three of the instructors. John and Lynn are fantastic. They each have their own training style and I learn a lot from them. John gets an extra shout-out for incorporating humor and encouragement during his courses. I always leave John’s class feeling like I made great progress. Bottom line is that you will receive excellent training from all of the instructors.Customer Service: Honestly, this is hit or miss. As some of the other reviews have mentioned, I have seen a lot of employees standing around the check-in desk. You never quite know what to do or who is helping you. It can be rather hectic. However, once you finally get someone’s full attention, the employees are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I did have a less-than-favorable firearm purchase experience, but when I voiced my concerns I truly felt my comments were listened to and I was happy with the outcome.Overall, 88 Tactical is a wonderful place to shoot and hang out.

88 has been one of my favorite places to go to in my area ever since they opened. The facilities are top notch, the training is next level with all the combined experience of the instructors, their gear selection has good variety, and not to mention the best food you’ll probably ever find at a gun range. Austin B specifically has been a huge help whenever I’ve had questions with retail stuff. I can’t say enough good things about this company!

I took part in two courses on 7/2/2020, Firearm Essentials Basic Safety course and Intro to Handgun. Both were led by Josh, aka Red. Not only was the class massively informative, but he kept it serious while also entertaining. He helped some nervous beginners very professionally and I cannot recommend these courses enough. Fast forward to today 8/3/2020. We stopped in for lunch, which is also amazing. Josh is in the lobby and I ask him for help on proper cleaning. He says he is free and this afternoon and can make the time to answer any questions. Even though this is just one guy at 88 tactical, I cannot express how much this is indicative of the entire staff at the Omaha location. Go check them out for excellent knowledge and an amazing indoor range. And try Matts BLT.

One of my favorite places to learn life skills. Weapons aside, knowing how to handle stressful scenarios in life helps us all respond in a way that could save many lives and mainly through avoiding conflict or handling conflict in a constructive way. I am really glad I decided to take some classes here including intron to handguns and the CHP class. The instructors for the classes were great. I had Chris, Red, Soap. All the instructors were very knowledgeable and patient with each class member. The whole class has different ranges of gun knowledge and the staff was attentive and patient with all of us. They make class fun and keep every one involved. Would recommend this facility to everyone I know.Also because of the gun safety class they offer for kids certain ages. I can now bring my child to the range to learn how to shoot as well.Overall glad that we are part of the 88 tactical founders club, it is worth it.

Just finished a two day class this past Monday & Tuesday at their Facility in Omaha - top notch instruction and top notch facility. Instructors (Soap & Lynn) were both quite detailed and passionate - definitely will sigh up for additional classes.

I took my CCW class there, well put together. Great prices even compared to mass producers like Scheels for firearms as wel! The best thing though, I brought in my custom AR15 I was having issues with. Red took a good look at it and helped me with some tips and didnt charge me. They really take care of their customers

As a novice shooter, I completed their free intro class and was so intrigued, I immediately signed up for their gun essentials course. I secured a firearm of my own to use during our course and learned how to handle my firearm safely and effectively. Our instructors, Thea and nickname Soap, were incredibly knowledgeable. They were able to project enough confidence in their skill to make the rest of us in class feel comfortable enough to ask questions and ensure a safe environment to practice both dry and live fire. The professionalism is off the charts. I started taking classes here from their beginning. When I brought my fiance Raluca into the country I wanted her to have top notch self defense training. She was so impressed and learned so much from her trainers. We have taken many classes since then and love it. I enjoyed my time there. The instructors were knowledgeable and funny. They helped me realize my grip is way too soft for firearms. After teaching 25 years using a soft hand, learning to tighten my grip seemed unattainable. I am growing as a gun owner and will continue having a growth mindset concerning my gun rights and safety.I recommend the intro to handgun class to everyone. Mr. Pozehl and his 2nd in command were truly gentleman who said 2 things in the beginning that mattered most to me...we are not trying to make you feel bad with our criticism and holding a tight grip while firing is paramount.

I dont have anything but good things to say about this place. The staff is personable & knowledgeable, the courses are informative and realistic, the facilities are top notch, and to top it all off, they have the best food youll probably ever find at a gun range. I attended the CCW class at 88 tactical yesterday with Soap as an instructor. I have taken CCW classes before down in Florida and this class by far exceeded any class I have ever taken. Soap makes the class informative and fun at the same time. This class ensured me I made the right decision becoming a founders club member earlier this year and I look forward to taking more classes at this facility.

In my experience the instruction at 88 Tactical is outstanding. Soap (yes, there is in fact a *serious* resemblance to MWs Soap) was awesome. He was, without a doubt, a seasoned professional with the right kind of background and credentials to lead you in both the classroom and on the range. He knew the material and delivered it in a entertaining and approachable way. Safety was clearly a top priority. He also dropped some tips and wisdom that left me wanting more. This is exactly the kind of person you want to train with. Not only in weapon arts either. Hes got a lifetime of self-defense under his belt. Soap knows whats up. He also talked about some of the the other instructors on staff, and I have zero doubts they are all equally qualified.88 Tactical makes a very wide variety of classes available from beginner to professional, handgun to carbine to rifle, and everywhere in between. Just take a look through their course offerings and you will see that it is a clear choice for instruction. I cant wait to get back into the facility as soon as possible. We are talking about a huge amount of knowledge available at a premier facility that were very lucky to have in Omaha. If you have any interest whatsoever you need to get in there right now. It is really quite a place, and they are improving it by adding longer ranges and a gym too. 10 of 10, 100 of 100, whatever you want to call it - 88 Tactical is the real deal.

Some staff is fine, some are rude and sometimes make obnoxious comments. Usually helpful but unless you a part of their club don’t expect the best.

Amazing group. I had an great instructor Lynn who was very informative for my CCW class. I am new to shooting and am confident in knowing that I am in good hands for my future training. Im a member and ready to stop being one. Worst off the cook kid I seen scarfing down food touching his mouth from behind the counter and then serving up food for others. Theres a pandemic. Come on man.Gross. Lies about expansion. Not worth my 200 a month if I cant eat here and theres never any ammunition to buy. Plus u need to start labeling your guns used that are used.

Tactical 88 does an amazing job from start to finish! The conceal carry class is very educational and so worth it. Our instructor Dan Stocker does such a great job especially with people who are beginners when it comes to the subject of handguns. The food was great and I recommend the 4 meat flat bread. Our city is extremely fortunate to have a facility of this caliber staffed with highly trained, safe and knowledgeable individuals. Ranges are clean, well maintained and time is very reasonably priced.I took my first class with them just last night. Very impressive, full of useful techniques and coaching from a professional, period. The Intro to Handgun course FAR EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS. Im an Army Vet that just wanted a little formal handgun training for myself and 14 year old son and this course did that and then some. I watched a young lady (maybe 15) go from jumping out of her skin upon hearing the first gunshot to confidently hitting her target repeatedly within a matter of 20 minutes... AWESOME! Thanks Lynn!

Ive taken 2 classes here so far and cant say enough about the knowledge, skills and experience of the instructors. Both Bryan and Red were great instructors, making everyone in their class feel at ease, no matter what the individuals experience level was. No worries about over- the-top tacticool soldier of fortune guys here. These guys are squared away professionals there to train you how to stay alive, not impress you with war stories. My wife and I will definitely be continuing our training with them.

Be mindful when you checkout at the range to ask for your ID back. 2 times now my ID was not returned to me after shooting at the range.Today I was set to purchase a handgun at another location, but had to drive all the way back to 88 Tactical to get my ID. I am lucky that I wasnt pulled over before I noticed that it was no longer in my possession. If I didnt have my mind set on buying that handgun, there is no telling how long I would have went without my ID.Yes it is my ID and my responsibility, but I expected a higher level of service to return items that I had surrendered to utilize their facility.Now instead of having enough time to register my newly purchased handgun so that its not just sitting at the store, I have to schedule more time to go do that.

Arranged a private CHP class through Tactical 88. The training was exceptional, thorough and professional. Kudos to instructor, Lynn Pozehl for providing educational insight with meaningful, real-world scenario correlates, not to mention his semi-entertaining delivery. Serious class, but not rigid or intimidating. Lynns experience-laden background was instrumental to course instruction and we all very much enjoyed the class.

Highly recommend every woman takes the primal defense class they offer. Super informative and helpful for real life situations. The instructors made it really fun as well. I will be returning to take the next class!

This is a great range. It’s clean and the staff is always very helpful. If you’re a new shooter or a little more seasoned, you’ll be right at home here. Once my kids are a bit older and more self sufficient, I can’t wait to get a membership and come once a week.

Some of my work colleagues attended a CCW class this past weekend. The majority of our group, had never even held a gun before. The instructors were so amazing and patient! A few of us even purchased a membership! I cannot wait to go back!

When checking in their entry form wants your gender and requires your physical address. Um, what? Seems like a lot of data collection going on. Went to Inner 10 instead on 90th and Military. 88 really let us down today. I have a NE-issued CCW. Why in the world would you collect my gender and address? If the state says I can conceal, then that should be good enough for you. Inner 10 has my vote.

Completed the CCW course. Trey was an excellent and entertaining instructor! I liked that he took time to give individual instruction during the firing range portion. He really helped my wife with her shooting dynamics. Also loved that the course included topics such as the mental and emotional mindset, legal issues and more.Then we toured the facility and became members. What an incredible place - even great for business networking! Weve already been back and look forward to years of family fun, learning and enjoyment!

First time visitor with my girlfriend. We had both recently purchased some handguns and were wanting to shoot. Our usual range was closed due to caronapocalypse and I had been interested in this place since they opened. Very friendly staff, nice range, I only gave 4 stars because we couldn’t really get the full experience of the place because of said caronapocalypse. However we were very impressed and are considering getting memberships.

I attended a CCW class over the weekend and loved it! All the staff was great especially our instructors. They spent the time necessary with all of us.

I wanted to post this while it was still fresh on my mind. I recently took a CCW class at 88 Tactical. My trainer was known affectionately as “Soap”. He was knowledgeable, engaging, informative and patient with the student in the a class of individual ranging from first time shooters to avid shooters with an age range of (I’m guessing) 30-75 years of age. I did an evening split class meaning 6-10pm Monday and Tuesday.... AFTER a full day of work, but I never felt like I was going to nod of because Soaps teaching style was educational but also highly engaging. I learned a lot and I became a better shooter.... but most importantly I became a SAFER shooter. A few pro tips though....1. Get there a little early. There is a cafe area to eat down stairs that has some pretty good food. The tacos are great too. And for a little sugar filled pick-me-up, try the triple chocolate brownies or the cookies. And for a little protein powered energy try their peanut butter and chocolate and banana protein shake. (YES, they actually make protein shakes here).2. If you don’t own a gun, talk to ANY of the staff there, you won’t find a bad choice. Everyone there is super friendly and knowledgeable in their own right. If they don’t know something, they will ask a friend or coworker that does.3. If you need a tour of the facilities to know all they can offer, talk to David at the front desk.4. Of you haven’t shot your gun in a while or it seems a bit off, they have a gun Smith on-site that will get you up and going.5. If you have children in your home, schedule them for a separate gun safety course. This is super important if you will have a gun in the house or regularly traveling with one.6. Have fun, learn, grow and gain a little more confidence to be out and about in this crazy world.-Perry

The best in Omaha, enough said. The facilities are amazing, the staff is great, and the food is delicious. Its always clean, the staff knows what they are talking about, and Ive never had a greater experience shooting. Theres always cool new firearms for sale to look at, plenty of ammo, and good conversation with the staff. I only have three complaints. First off, they arent very close to my house which makes it difficult sometimes to motivate myself to travel that far. Second, the membership is worth it, but it is pretty expensive. Third, they can get pretty bogged down with firearm cleaning and gunsmithing, all of the firearms I have dropped off there have taken no longer than three weeks to be completed.

I reserved a lane for 12pm online. I arrive early, and the staff tell me that I will have to wait because they had a CCW class. It would seem there is no communication between whomever is in charge of managing the website and whomever is in charge of determining the CCW class schedule. 40 minutes pass, it is now 12:40, and the staff tell me that the lane is open. I inform the staff that I will need to rent a handgun. That is when the staff decide to tell me that they have no ammunition to sell. Which means I spent over $30 to reserve a lane for a time when it was not open, for the opportunity to rent a handgun for which they have no ammunition to sell.The staff provided a Free Range Pass as compensation, but the experience was very frustrating. I have no intention of returning.It doesnt take a lot of work to update their website to say that they have no lanes open until 1pm. It doesnt take a lot of work to update their website, for lane reservations, and say that they have no ammunition to sell.

I took the intro to handgun class with Lynn. This class was great. I highly recommend the class whether you are looking at a refresher class, uncertain about using the shooting range, or would like a better knowledge of handguns. I felt welcomed and treated wonderfully by the staff and members. All of my questions were answered and I never felt dumb for asking. I am looking forward to using their facility more in the future. I’d encourage anyone to use Tactical 88 for their training needs.

Just took the Conceal and Carry Class with 88 Tactical and it was a fantastic experience! Brian Soap is an excellent instructor with real world experience, can not say enough great things about how much value he added. Fantastic business model, they will soft sell you on membership during lunch but I never felt pressured at all, and clearly they have a lot to offer! I believe they are missing on a key service they can offer with all of the experience on their staff, but I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone!

Well structured CCW class done in a single session with productive range time. However, the lengthy day is divided up with essentially ads you sit thru, with 88 Tactical using partners to sell their wares (which is what probably keeps the class price down). There was a sales pitch for some lawyer service, then some more pitches to get a 88 tactical membership and one more.The instructor liked to throw in really subtle nods to complete racial biases, conspiracy theories and other ways to bring up anti-left inclinations. Calling Black Lives Matters a terrorist group, implying Anti-Fa was akin to Mussolini brown shirts and anything that was a problem a result of Democrats.2 stars - Good class but I didnt pay for your political opinions and commercials.

I had a wonderful experience taking an Intro to Handgun class at 88 Tactical. I was very nervous but was made to feel very comfortable. I ended up having a great time and I plan to take additional classes in the future. The instructor was knowledgeable and friendly. I appreciated the small class size. Cant say enough good things!

Recently took Solo CQB with T. Thrasher; Solid, Well Supported Content with Excellent Instruction...highly suggested for anyone that carries a firearm. Whether you are LE, MIL, or Civilian...On or Off Duty, the class will give you plenty to think and about and work on!Additionally, the 88 Tactical HQ facilities are very nice and the chow is very good!

Had my first class last night my experience was excellent, our instructor was very professional but not stiff, he was able to be serious and light hearted which made me feel more comfortable. Recently I had a catastrophic malfunction on my Glock 17. I took it in to get serviced and Josh (Red) was super helpful. He was able to get it to working condition in a couple days. 5 stars. Come check these guys out.

Just did the concealed weapon class and both my husband and I had the best experience. We became members because it’s a great place to shoot. They are professional and safe. Not only that, the lounge upstairs is very nice, the food is great and it’s relaxing atmosphere makes you feel very special. Best decision we made, becoming members. At 88 tactical they try really hard to make it a great place for the family and give discounts so it’s easier to be a member and purchase what you need (want). The owner and his wife are always coming up with new ideas for classes for both women and men as well as expanding, adding a gym etc.

Took my 12 yo son and his friend to School Safe. It was amazing. Our Instructors Kurt & Bryan did a great job with the kids. I feel everyone should take this course, its too bad it is not offered in School. We will be taking our 8 yr old daughter next. I do feel guilty as this Course is free & what the class took away from it was definitely worth paying for. Thank-you 88 Tactical

I cannot rave about the staff of 88 Tactical enough! If you are looking to learn how to effectively defend yourself with your firearm, I HIGHLY recommend 88 Tactical. I took my CCW class there several years ago and was not disappointed. The level of experience that their instructors posses is second to none. I really appreciated the way the instructor adapted to each student’s skill level. Some of us were more experienced than others and he took the time to ensure we understood what the exercise was, what the purpose of the exercise was, and that we were all able to perform it successfully. I’ve already booked range time to practice what I learned tonight!

I just attended the Basic Precision Rifle course. It was fantastic. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are patient as they give you advice and instruction. I took the concealed carry course here today and have been here a few times to shoot at the range. It is a top quality facility with a great staff. Trevor is a great instructor.

Just got home from their CCW class. As a retired sheriff deputy who has many different certifications in law enforcement, I admit that I can still learn even more. Carrying concealed as a civilian is a whole different can of worms and I recommend this for all retiring officers.

Absolutely amazing experience. I took the Intro to Handgun class, with my parents, as we are new gun owners. It was very informative. Our instructor Bryan Soap was a great instructor. He was patient, answered all questions. There is so much more to learn than I ever thought, and Bryan got us off onto a good start. I suggest this course to any novice gun owner. 88 Tactical is a great place! They offer great customer service, a huge variety of classes and learning opportunities, and an awesome range. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The restaurant has excellent quality food and the Founders Club lounge is a great place to relax and hang out. My family and I are very happy to be members!

The Concealed Carry Interactive Scenarios class is awesome.If you already have or are considering getting your CHP and you havent done realistic scenario training, you should try this class. Youll get to pressure test how youll react if youre caught up in the middle of things like a c-store or ATM robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, and mall shooting, as either the intended victim or a bystander.Its been eyeopening for me. The coaching has been very helpful.

Just completed my Firearm Essentials Basic Safety Course AR-15 Carbine course. I must say it was quite the experience, in a good way. Very informative. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! I joined a couple weeks ago as a Founders Member, best decision I made.I was blown away by the amount of knowledge our instructor John had. He did a wonderful job with walking us through the course. John you remember this review if you pull me over in the future. Thanks again for everything. It was a wonderful experience.

I took the intro to handgun class with Lynn Pozehl about 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it! Im very new to firearms in general so the amount I was able to learn was just amazing. I was able to ask questions without feeling dumb and Lynn made the entire class enjoyable. Ive taken a few classes since then, like the Handgun Skill Builder and just Sunday took the Tac Med class! The instructor Dave Roller did an awesome job of teaching and I highly recommend everybody to take the class, great knowledge for all. I have become a member and cant wait to continue to learn from each of these classes and on another note... the food is great also! loving this place.

Awesome place! They have a great discount on memberships for l.e plus a lot of cool courses I cant wait to dive into. Plus the food is pretty darn good. All of the staff treats you like family! Just wish I had access to the 450 yard range when ever.

Earlier in the week I attended the Intro to Handguns course and returned today to test out several of the available rentals prior to purchasing my own. This was my first time at a range solo but thanks to the staff at 88 Tactical, I did not feel alone nor did the staff make me feel like an inconvenience for being such a novice. In fact, one particular employee, Will, went above and beyond to calm my nerves and I actually ended up enjoying the process. Fantastic experience that Ill forever be grateful for! THANK YOU!

They wont work with you and want their money months ahead of time before you even get to the classes I dont recommend.
