Went there yesterday, Friday at 3:30 and they were closed. Hours are not correct online. Tried to call and I just get answering machine..looked like a nice place though
A wonderful icon of Florences history, the Florence Mills construction includes timbers cut in 1846 by the Mormon pioneers. Since then, the mill has been operated in its original capacity, and currently as an art space, farmers market and more. Its a jewel in Omahas history, and a wonderful place to visit!
Sunday mornings during summer the Florence Mill is a bright spot for a Farmers Market and crafts. Homemade pies, local veggies, needlework, toys. Nice outdoor event in a smaller, limited area. Not much walking involved but no shortage of fun and bargains. You can also take time to step inside of the Florence Mill and experience local history up close. Fun for the whole family.
So glad this piece of history was saved by someone willing to put in some work! Very interesting history, well cleaned and preserved by the current owner. We stopped by and got to look around and hear some history while on a tour hosted by the Durham Museum. Lots of neat artifacts and a photography gallery upstairs. Florence farmers market is hosted here during the summer from 10am-3pm. Nice little gem right off the interstate.
It was pretty. But closed due to all of this virus scare. Cant give a real opinion.
This is a great place to bring your out-of-town visitors and for locals who have either forgotten or just want a refresher on some of our local history. Not a great visit for physically challenged folks.
Just a great time at the market great to see people keeping all walks of history intact. Would love to see more advertising and booths!
