This place is fantastic and offers a variety of family friendly activities for all ages. There’s a cafe, nicely paved wide jogging / cycling path that’s great for walking dogs as well and extends across the entire east side of the lake. Kayaking, a bicycle repair station, a ropes course, a rock wall, SUP (stand up paddle boarding), picnic area, canoeing are just a few of the adventure packed activities offered. The boathouse and lake is really well kept and a true hidden gem in Oklahoma City. Highly recommend!!

This is a great spot for couples, families, or by yourself. Excellent out door activities. Rentals are cheap the water is clean and lots of friendly people along the way. For sure recommend this for anyone living here in Oklahoma or anyone just passing through. Enjoy the outdoors in a friendly and controlled environment. Perfect place for beginners just learning to paddle board, or kayak.

Cool activities for kids and a fun chance to try kayaking. There is little to now current in the channel so plan on getting in your exercise. Kids enjoy the dam as well which is just a short ride bike ride from the boathouse cool way to spend the day.

Grab a quick snack or smoothie, then hop right back on your bike and keep riding. They also have outdoor seating and boat rentals. Also a zipline? All and all a fun place to go for a couple hours on a nice day. Staff is friendly and helpful. A bike repair station is also located in the back so you can fix a flat or make other adjustments as needed.

Fantastic crew and great activities! Safety first and a guaranteed great time with the family. Did the zip line, tower jump, rock wall, and kyaks...not one bad experience. The staff are well trained, professional and focused on making sure you have a great time. I know my family sue did.

Ive been going to this lake for years, so many spots to walk, play with your dogs, and playgrounds for kids. This lake is popular spot for photography as well. I enjoy the history of it as there is a lot of rubble left from old overpass bridges, that give it am eerie beautiful look, depending on what walking path your on.

The website says the Overholser Boathouse is open 8-6 Tuesday - Sunday.Our out of town guests left at 10:30 and still no one was there to work.They never seem to keep consistent hours.It really was a downer for our plans for the day.Overholser is the best place to kayake and SUP. I was really looking forward to showing it off.

The lake is a very good spot to watch sunset.We did rent kayak and the canal is very nice.Make sure to go fast through the first part of the canal along the highway.The staff was nice, fun and very helpful.We paid around 40$ for both of us.

Very nice to be able to rent a kayak and enjoy the outdoors. The boathouse itself is very basic but all the people we interacted with were kind.

Just went to eat our lunch and look at the water. Didnt realize there where so many ducks! We plan to go back another day with a loaf of bread.

I went for kayaking through riversport okc. It was not crowded. There was no wait for the kayaks. There were beautiful herons, birds, and jumping fish! Loved this location.

First time at this location, had a blast and it wasnt very crowded. Its pretty pricey ($85 for two all day passes), but well worth it. My only complaint is that some of the staff werent very informative. It felt like we were expected to already know where to go and what to do. But other than that, it was a good experience. Will go back.

Love this place..

A great time, a great deal.We had a group of 11. We were able to kayak, paddleboard, zipline, rock climb, and jump as often as we wanted with almost no waiting.All this for $29. 10/10 we will be back.

If youve not been to this lake lately, its time to visit. All access has been improved.We love renting kayaks here and heading to the nature preserve. Ive taken my 8 and 5 year olds several times!

This is such a waste of space. The coffee is bad and I never know when they will be open. It could be fantastic. They really need to evolve into a bar or restaurant.

I love to bicycle at Overholser. The Boathouse Smash Burger was delicious and the staff their excellent.

Beautiful lake and not crowded. It offers a path for walking and riding bikes plus a couple of parks for the families to take the kids to and have a picnic. You can walk across the damn or fish.

Great Pokemon Go gym with an excellent view. One day, I will check it out for its legit purposes.

I like this smaller lake and friendly staff. If you take the smaller channel along the lake it has several more runs offs you can explore.

The porta pottys need to be cleaned up. Too many are so nasty Id rather not spend time at Overholser lake and I sure dont want my children using those disgusting things!

I didnt go to the boathouse! I drove past it......I really would like to stop getting these types of notifications from Lake Overholser boathouse, park or any other location on Lake holser.

Staffed by Millenials and run by a non-profit... And unfortunately it shows.Safety in ziplines and water sports requires attention to detail. And when you cant get basic communication down on your own website or even the phone, how safe can you really be? Ive used other rafting and zipline services in other states and thats where the bar is set.We were coming up to Oklahoma City for a conference and we had heard about the rental services and the white water rafting. We actually tried to call just to confirm but their voice mail system was an endless loop and eventually we got dumped into a voice mailbox for scheduling etc. We left messages TWICE and no one ever called us back. So we checked the website for hours, times, and dates and everything was going to be open for our trip.We actually booked the hotel room a couple of days earlier just to enjoy these water sports. Boy did we waste our money.So the first day we show up at Lake Overholser to rent a canoe or kayak and no one is there. The place is dark. We check website for hours and it says it should be open. A guy in his forties sees us looking in the windows trying to figure out what’s going on. He says it’s closed and has been closed all week and he was just there doing some operations work. We show him that the website says they should be open and right away you can see the “They did it again” look on his face. He apologizes and said that management told everyone to go home at the beginning of the week. He feels so bad that he lets us in to the place while he can call the other locations to find out who is renting boats.So he goes above and beyond to help us. This was a great way to deal with the situation. But that’s when the rest of the system lets him down again.He calls the location in the Boathouse District. He tells them what has happened and confirms that they are indeed renting Kayaks at their location. He asks them twice and tells them that he’s going to send some people over. We thank him very much and immediately leave for the next location. Ugh.Upon arriving at the Boathouse District we are immediately told that they are NOT renting any boats. Whaaaat? We tell them that the website says they are and that the staff member at Overholser called to confirm. In typical Millenial fashion the two counter staffers just say “Sorry” and then literally turn back to playing on their phones.So we decided to tell them that the whole story about no one answering the phone system and the website being wrong - everything that was just poor communication. They had no empathy! They still don’t even see anything wrong and just say the website is out of date a lot because only one person can make changes as far as they know.So in our experience, so much of this organization is mismanaged and doesn’t communicate well. So you have to ask yourself. Do I want to hang from a zipline or ride in the rapids that this place manages?I guess this is what you can expect when you take a nonprofit organization where people dont really have to worry about performance and then staff it with Millenials. Its too bad because I really want a program like this to succeed.

Part of the Riversports OKC venues this one includes bike rental, paddle board, zip line and it has a cafe as well. The bike station outside is an awesome thing to have on the trail.
