Oh what fun youll have,, Im not saying its quite a fairy tail but,,,,The Hi-lo is the greatest place on earth. The drinks are great, delicious and served by some very fine staff. The Hi-Lo is a great destination, youll be glad you trudged through what ever it took to make to that promised land. The pink glow and reserved sense of humor are a nice setting to bop or rock or shake it to what ever gets poured through the speakers. Enjoy, and say I told you so.

Hilo, Dear HiloThe last truly kind of underground place where you can meet a mix of creative people, normal people and maybe hobo maybe artist kind of people. You can listen to alternative and cool music, have intimate punk concerts, watch a NBA game or have a free breakfast. These guys are generous.The club is pretty small, do you remember all these pocket size nightclubs that popped up a decade ago when everybody was sick of massive rave party (I know, EDM), well it just feels like you are in le Baron or the Beatrice Inn once again.If this place was located in an international hub, it would be so popular it would need several bouncers. There would be articles about how to get in Hilo Club and very boring portrait of people who hang out there.Well these cities are a few thousands miles away and a burger joint tried to buy it out to open a new location.Seriously, it is one the true historical place of OKc, I think they should bank on it and revamp every building of this lot and provide once and for all the ultimate experience everybody is so craving to get : authenticity. All the new places in the city are tired versions of stuff that have been around for a long time in places like where I’m from, Paris, France.Just so you know, if you are not a smoker it will be hard to stand the heavy cigarette ambiance, you need to remember that.

Hilo is a dice bar close to my little dirt bag heart. Theres always a friendly vibe, and a PHENOMENAL bar staff.I spent a lot of money in this place during my younger years, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart; a home-away-from-home for such an eclectic crowd.

I used to like this kitschy little time capsule way better before straight folks took it over.I love the history.I love the ambience.I know and think the world of some of the staff.But straight folks out there:You have a zillion bars of your own.While you should always feel welcome in gay bars, well, do you really have to come in and take over the few bars we gay folks can all our own?

Will the bartender was nice he gave me two Cherry Cokes for free because I dont drink alcohol but he told me that they didnt serve food and from what I just read they do also the club only features country and western music and do they advertise for karaoke they do not actually do karaoke I was kind of disappointed really I wont be going back.

The one and only. Always open. Only slightly infamous. Its fun, in lots of different ways, on lots of different nights. Weekends, all the full time freaks show up, you never know what you might see or who you might meet! very friendly welcoming clientele overall. The shows/spectacles range from loud to loud and bizarre. Weekdays are lower key and a decent place for good, cheap, strong drinks with your friends who dont mind the heavy Marlboro haze.

If youve ever wished that they made cologne that smelled like cigarette smoke, then this is your place! You will smell like smoke for days after partying here. Fun place. Dive bar swanky inside. Must see. Order a pearl diver, or 6.

A pretty cool club. Kinda small, but cheap. Dont go if you dont like a smokey bar. Seems to be LGBT friendly too, but its hip enough that all are welcome compared to other similar bars which are cliqueish and dont feel as welcoming to everyone. Drink prices arent bad either.

Former gay bar ... great crowd. Can always find someone to talk to. I would say its maybe a bisexual bar now. Make nice strong mixed drinks. Place to go if you are trying yo get drunk!!

Really awesome if you love smoking

Fun and freaky environment. Definitely a different than the mainstream crowd but instantly you feel apart of the party. A flash of 1980s glam rock with a dab of British punk pub. Good fun, damn good drinks and I thoroughly expect to see Joan Jett wandering around in VIP someday.

Had a great time at the bar watching a OU game and a few brews. Houston was bartending and he played a few golden oldies for us.

I went to the hi lo bar to kill some time, and that is exactly what I achieved, for twenty bucks I got a pretty good buzz on, the mixed drinks were strong, and the staff friendly. The patrons ranged from some very open minded individuals who I got along with just fine to a business man who enjoyed pissing off the idiots and a stuck up bar rat, so overall I give them four out of five. Good drinks, good people. With exceptions

If you drink here for over 15 years, you are qualified to work here. Awesome, filthy, cheap, and dark. They have patients more than customers. Super local. The best, my only complaint is that its gotten a little too straight.

Great place! Great place to emigrate with the locals and truly get to know the area. Kind souls. Im just a traveler traveling through. But hopefully Ill be back.

Love this place. Our favorite place to go in Okc. We usually try to go every Thursday afternoon. Begona is the best bartender in the Okc Metro. Cheapest drinks in town, awesome juke box. Everyone here is so friendly & we always have the BEST time here.

Tha HiLo is always a good place to get a nice strong drink for a good price. The jukebox always has good music, and the room is almost always filled with great interesting folks. It is a super little spot with a whole lot of memories. I sure hope it will be around for many more years to come.

This is the token dive bar of OKC. So many demographics ...so little space. I love the stiff drinks here. And, the story behind the HiLo club is quite interesting. But I wont post it on here, you will have to go in and ask yourself!

As a long time Customer I was extremely upset at how a manager with a name beginning with T would make certain people not feel welcome and uncomfortable. Sure he is kind to their faces but would tell others including myself certain people were things that is simply untrue. And it did not stop. I hope he learns and others learn that spreading nasty rumors and bullying can cause people severe hurt and trauma. The people they bully has never harmed anyone or been in trouble and This is not fair. Many people commit suicide due to just someone spreading lies and rumors. It is not okay and now my friends and I who were regulars no longer return. I felt it was terribly cruel what goes on and the lies that are said about good people who do not harm anyone and deserve that. I hope people learn to have a heart and stop the bullying at this establishment.

I have a long and storied history with the Hi-Lo Club. My moms friend used to manage the place in the 1970s and I started going there in the late 1990s. Just remember that you will smell like smoke, you can get drunk for cheaper than anyplace in town and keep an eye on your belongings.It is worth going to see for yourself.

Authentic historical watering hole with awesome people, fantastic drinks, live music, with a Hole-in-the-wall vibe and unbeatable prices. This is the first place I take out of towners who are visiting.

I am leaving a bad review because of the bartender and his wife. First of all, the wife had played darts for most of the night. Her and her friends were clearly drunk and werent able to throw the darts anymore. I asked nicely if they were still playing because they were sitting at the table not even focusing on the game/machine. Sure enough as I ask the wife, she makes a condescending remark about oh you look cute with your jean jacket and converse. I ignored that and her friend proceeded to throw darts missing the board completely as she was really drunk. The wife says well clearly yeah we are done as you can tell we cant even make the darts. Both turn around and ignore the fact that we asked about wanting to play. Common courtesy if other bar goers are wanting to play step away if you arent really into the game. She decided to throw a big fit after I threw some practice darts at the board since she was no longer even playing. Gets her bartender husband to come and yell at us to pay her for the game she wasnt even playing and proceeds to kick us out! Very petty and ridiculous but I guess thats what happens when you are dealing with a drunk snob and her bartender husband. I failed to mention it was my birthday. Dumb, drunk, idiot just added amusement to the night with her petty, senseless act. This could have been a 5 star review as I thought it was a great place until the bartender and his wife decided to turn away customers because she wanted to run the place and wanted no one to play darts.
