New to town and wanted to get a quick 18 in. Great track for all skill levels. They have kept the course in solid condition considering the heat and wind. Staff was extremely friendly. Will definitely be back. Thanks again everyone.

For a public course it was in decent shape. Greens need a little work. Some of the tee boxes on the par 3s where is bad shape.

Easy enough course but very popular since its centrally located so very crowded and badly beaten up! The golfers dont take of their divots and dimples on the green!!

Closed until May 2, 2020. But some of the best public practice facilities anywhere. Multiple short game pitching areas, two large putting greens, a good Par 3 course with multiple tee boxes. Courses: Newer North layout has a modern layout, with the older south course a more traditional feel, bigger tree lines fairways, etc.

Very new to the game. Went for instruction. Rick Pendleton schooled me. An absolute Phenomenal instructor. Recommend highly for any level of golfer. Thanks Rick, c ya n a couple weeks

None of the holes were numbered at the tee boxes! Are you kidding me? Confusing tee boxes. There was no water on a 90 degree day and no warning about it. A rental club set cost more money than a green fee ($27). The rent set had only hybrid irons which I wasnt comfortable with and asked for just a 3 iron and they said they couldnt give me one. It cost us $118 for two people to play 18 holes with a cart.

The staff was friendly and the course had a nice layout, would recommend for sure.

Course was in poor shape. For the price you pay, the grounds can be kept up better. And the greens can be maintained better. Not a fan.

God, how I love this place. Theres something incredibly wholesome about a low-key Sunday brunch at a public golf course. love to gaze over the fairways at Lake Hefner while dining on eggs Norwegian or Benedict. The menu is extremely tasty and well-priced. Is it fancy? No, its a public golf course. But the combination of flavor, vibe and price makes it an awesome place for Sunday brunch.

$50 for a 12 pack of generic beer. 50$. The green fee to play 18 in a cart is less than a 12 pack. Legend has it they have a 30 rack in the back. It was for Jeff Bezos but after his divorce he couldnt afford it. It just sits there now

Just went there to hit some balls at the range and it was my 1st time at their range. I was quite impressed as it was a very large area about double what most ranges already normal golf course. They also had 3 separate chipping greens and a large putting green. I went today which was a warm Sunny Sunday after the masters and the place was absolutely packed.

Great facility for all levels of golfers. I took several private lessons from John Folsom, a PGA class A pro. He really helped my swing, focusing on a few basic changes. Plus, hes just a great guy to take lessons from. I highly recommend him. You cant go wrong playing here.

We played the south course. The greens are well maintained. The staff was attentive and nice.

Five dollars for a beer at a Muni? Whether its a muni or not this course needs help. Played Firelake two days before and it puts this place to shame. The layout on the North, nothing to talk about. We like to travel and play different courses and this place was bone dry yet the greens were water so much they were a 10 on the stimp. I usually give most places a break but a local I played with told me its the Norm. If your standards are low you wont mind.

Great greens but they can be terrible about keeping a good pace up.

The clubhouse has the largest selection of merchandise and the right prices of any clubhouse public or private in the city. The restaurant is a hidden gem and is always great. The two courses are challenging and offer something for all skill levels. Their junior/beginner golf clinics are put together very well. Hefner is Still the Best!

We had an absolutely wonderful day the course was perfect we werent so much. Add a great time on a great course, then have a great lunch in their clubhouse. All for under $75. Two great 18 hole golf courses.

Cold but good.

Played last week. For January, the course was in excellent shape, and the greens still, well, green. Very well kept course. It is a very challenging course for someone of my skill level (novice). Best public course in OKC. I just wish I was able to play in spring/ summer to experience the full beauty this course has to offer.

Course is good. Kind of expensive for a public course. Some staff are really nice but some are really rude and moody. You get treated like a public course but almost costs like private.

Great atmosphere and food. The staff are a bit on the unprofessional side though. Ive nearly lost my temper with them on a couple of occasions. Change the staff and this place would be perfect.

Delayed by lightning but once clear we had a great day. In spite of heavy rains the night before, the course was in very good condition. Only drawback was cart path only which was the proper call on their part. Unfortunately we observed a few players who rode the fairways anyway. Someone should teach them golf etiquette.

First time for brunch....beautiful day, great atmosphere, wonderful meal with good friends! !

Played south course, first time in 2017. Greens keeper is doing the job right! Course is in excellent shape. Employees are all friendly. Glad I played here. Btw, womens tees ( ALL tee boxes) are the nicest Ive seen on any course Ive played in OK this year. Keep it up Hefner!

The course was in good condition. South course is a great place for anyone who has a hard time finding fairways. Club house not very friendly or inviting for that matter. Walked around for 15 mins without so much as a welcome or if I needed help, not usually so picky but 5 people behind the counter and I was the only customer in the shop. Overall good experience and would play again. Large driving range all grass as an added bonus.

A very good course in really great shape. A little slow to play, but still fun.

I like this course, especially the north. Shooting a 41 37 / 78 doesnt hurt. Friendly professional workers inside and on the course. It was packed and took 4 1/2 hours but it was no ones fault it was just slow.

Would be a 5 star review if I was just reviewing the golf experience. The clubhouse experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I had booked a tee time 5 days in advance to golf the Saturday of Memorial Weekend. I booked it for 3 golfers on the phone and it was repeated back to me for 3 golfers. But when we went in on Saturday it was discovered they had only put 2 golfers on the system. The gentleman behind the counter handled the misunderstanding in a very unprofessional manner, and rather than apologizing for the mix up, tried to inform me of how stupid it was for me to try to plug another golfer in on that busy of a weekend without calling ahead (even though we booked for 3 in the first place). It was settled and taken care of in the end, but theres at least one staff member at Lake Hefner Golf Club who has some learning to do in the customer service area.

While the course is in pretty good shape, the pace is soooo slow. They have started checking people in on both courses but that’s the extent of their involvement during the round. The last two times we’ve played out there we haven’t even been able to finish our rounds due to pace of play, 4+ hours and only made it to hole 13, no Marshall’s anywhere onsite to make the 5 SOMES allow the twosomes to play through.

Really great course as far as the grounds work is concerned. Not very challenging on the north course but nevertheless a really nice municipal golf course. The pace of play was poor because we were a couple playing behind (4) walking golfers who refused to let us play through but I gave it 5 stars because of the ground work (ie: Fairways, bunkers and greens were in great condition)

Ed Reinke was amazing. He took over an hour to work with me and finds the right clubs. I plan on taking lessons from him. He taught me so much already, and you can tell he loves teaching others.

Lake Hefner offers two 18 hole courses, a well stocked Pro-Shop and a decent 19th hole. The golf courses are relatively open but do provide enough difficulty to challend most mid-handicap players. The grounds are well maintained and the greens are normally in decent conditiin. Green fees are reasonable for a public course. Make an early Tee Time in the summer months to avoid the heat

One of the great things about OKC is the local public golf courses are all nice tracks. Could it be better, sure but an affordable round at a decent course is what you will find here.
