Wow! This is a must-see for both visitors and locals. Enjoy free entry to this museum which boasts multiple galleries both permanent and changing. Right now the Texas photography exhibit was so moving. The outdoor sculpture garden is a sensory experience appealing to the eyes, ears and sense of touch. Kids and adults will love the gift shop. Ask for a tour if available the education staff is superb. The museum offers monthly educational activities and summer programming as well.

You know life is tough for everybody in this time of covid, but because of that, fate brought me to know this diamond of west Texas. My wife and I had many a book signing cancelled. You see I am a writer of books and by accidental discovery I was found, and a novel came about after a chance meeting with a publisher from Washington State who decided he liked my way. That encounter lead me down the winding path to another, who by chance maybe felt it too and that meeting just happened to be the Executive Director of the Ellen Noel Art Museum, Sheila Perry. So nice to us both. I will always remember that encounter. She trusted me and my book and I so appreciate that. Now my book, titled The Reckoning of Rance, is being sold at the Ellen Noel Art Museum of Odessa Texas. Can you believe that? I am so proud to be there. A beautiful museum, housing beautiful art. The exibits when we visited were world class. One especially struck to fit my way and that was the Tom Lea. I guess it hit my way of life dead center. I felt it. Ive seen it in real time experience, both the painting and through the dust of hooves of my own time, and just as much in past generations lore, and let me tell you I felt small in comparison to the artists that were presented by the museum our day there. This museum is a must see while visiting Odessa and I want to say thank you Ms. Perry for believing in our story, our future and the book.

I got to see Tom Leas Stampede in person!! I like this museum, it is small, quiet, and cost $0 to get in. Beautiful permanent collection, and I saw Diana Kersey sculptures in the other gallery. I also loved the garden. A peaceful area to listen to birds and admire nature and art.

We loved this museum! Beautiful gardens, lots of information, art house like a play room for children, gift shop section, and we got to vote on our favorite artist in one section of the museum. My personal favorite are the sculptures. No guides you get to explore on your own.
