Valentines day, we had the pleasure of experiencing opening night of the performance, Lend Me a Tenor. What a fantastic show! This was my first time seeing a play with my husband and we had the greatest time. I cant wait to see the next show, we are hooked!

My family went to see Annie tonight... The talent blew my mind! It was so well done! We all loved it so much! The reason for 4 stars is the theater itself needs a lot of work. The price was very low compared to the quality of the production. Bravo! We will for sure be coming back!

The theatre itself could definitely use a facelift. But its the people inside that make this a great place to get out for an evening (or matinee). The shows are awesome! The entertainment is really fun and enjoying!Check them out, you will not regret it!

Came here to see Emily St. John Mandel speak about her award winning novel “Station Eleven” & had a blast. All around 5 star rating (although parts of the panel was interrupted by car alarms outside) other than that the experience was great. Nothing against the theater, I’m simply rating the experience in its entirety.

We went and saw The Lion King 2. They do live productions. All of the children did AWESOME jobs!!! Aaron Valdez did a great job as Mufasa!

The show was amazing. Lots of wonderful people made it a great night!

Weve been to 2 different plays here now. They were both absolutely wonderful! You can tell these are rehearsed to perfection before hitting the stage and the talent is top level. I will definitely attend another play here!

Old school theater since 1954 we saw The Lion King Junior which was a pretty good production put on by students 18 all the way down to eight pretty good job

Performed Santa Fe Christians Newsies here and it was the best experience ever. The Star is the most homely theatre you could go to. Dressing rooms were awesome and green room was open and clean. Loved it.

Cool play. Nice and cozy. Everyone is nice. U will want to Mic the actors if u get a bigger crowd. Cld barely hear them. But good entertainment.

Went to see the Santa Fe Christian production of Newsies. Wonderful performance. I have been coming to their plays at the Star Theatre for 15 years. Fantastic theatre. Classic feel. Incredible. If you can. Go. You will love it

Since moving to O’Side three years ago, we have seen several different live productions at the Star; all have been very good. Yesterday, we saw the matinee for “Streetcar Named Desire” and the acting was by far the very best. It rivals any Broadway touring production we’ve seen in San Diego. Kudos to the principal three actors, as well as the rest of the cast, crew and director!

Gonna be honest, from the outside, it looks like a rundown, old movie theater. The inside mimics that same feeling, but has charm that is difficult to describe. I enjoyed watching a show here. The seats were comfy, the views are good no matter where you are, and its clean. Cant ask for much more.

Excellent, comfortable seats. Nice size, good feel. The only negative was one of the actors mikes kept producing lots bursts of static.

Lobby area okay not great it didnt feel like it was kept up well it felt run down a little bit in there the seating is very steep inside and not well lit so be careful when youre walking you have to use your phone when youre in the theater area and its dark already to get to your seat you got to be really really careful I think this is a great location they just need to stay on the upkeep a little bit better and Im not sure about the parking situation here it seemed that we had to park down the street overall probably for the price of rental its a good deal

The productions are always so well put together at Star. The show was amazing! The theatre itself is in need of repairs, but they definitely put quality in the sound, lighting, and shows.

Today I attending a performance of The Lion King Jr with my sons elementary school. Ive always wanted to see a show at this theatre as I studied theatre and film at university so I have a place in my heart for small theatre companies. The theatre itself is small and could do with a revamp on the inside but those are small details. The seats were comfortable and it was clean so the decor wasnt that big of a deal (youre sat in the dark anyways!) Well I just wanted to say how awesome the performance was. The kids were all excellent and kept the audience engaged throughout the whole show. I will definitely be bringing my kids back. In the group I was chaperoning I had four boys that had never been to live theatre performance before and I know that the experience they had today will stay with them forever. They were all laughing and clapping and just loving the whole thing!! Thanks Star Theatre Company for making our trip memorable!

Came here a couple of years ago to watch a play but the theater is so small and cramped the people back in front of you and hit the knees and if too many people are there it gets hot theres no air conditioning cool old classic style but very warm not enough air conditioning

Older theater, comfortable seating and clean restrooms. Good facility for 300 or less.

Top-notch (Broadway)acting, singing, dancing from 15-18 teens in awesome staging of Little Shop of Horrows! Dont miss Decembers Annie and 2019. It gets better and better!!!!

A wonderful, unique gem of a theater! A truly positive experience for the cast involved in Star Theatre productions and a treat for audiences as well. David, Sandra, and the other Star Theatre staff are extremely professional - and very talented, too. As residents of North County, were truly grateful to have such a wonderful theatre for the community.

This theater housed the most offensive, racist performance that I have ever seen. I cannot believe that this could have been reviewed or approved by any sane person. I highly recommend not visiting this establishment.

I bought tickets to a show at the Star Theatre in the hopes of seeing one of the many smaller local theaters in the North County area. I love theater and plays or any live performance, however this changed my opinion altogether. The Star Theatres performance of Children of Eden was extremely racist. They had an impressive cast of between 45 to 60 people, all of which were white except for one african american girl. They spoke of Abe and Kane and the guilt and shame that Kane carried, but what was incredibly troubling and offensive was that when they would speak/sing of Kanes children and the mark of shame they carried, they had the only african american girl play the role of the shamed, guilty and tainted child of Kane. They even shamed her on stage! An all white cast shaming a young girl for her color and shame on stage! I will never attend another showing at this theater and urge others who are aware or racial remarks and actions to never become patrons to this establishment.This is a disgrace to Oceanside and the name of theater.
