The coaches there really have the kids excited for sports. I appreciate the way they keep in touch. Informing parents on info as needed.

This is one of my daughter and my favorite parks in Oakland. Pretty clean, but the staff here is amazing. About 4-5 years we have been coming here, and they honor the Oakland motto of no child going hungry. Despite my child not being a part of their after school program, they still make sure she eats when the other kids do and they make sure all the children are playing within the rules of the park and structure of the Afterschool program. An Oakland program that actually works. Good job Allendale.

Clean fun and it bought back tons of childhood memories that I sister with my kids as they made their own. Staff very friendly.

Not a bad field. In the Laurel neighborhood of Oakland. They have a play area, basketball courts, softball field, a cookout area with one grill I think. There is also a meeting/rec hall space. Bathrooms are nicely kept. I think it is Allendale Elementary behind the softball field. From Fruitvale Bart Station you can take A.C. Transit Bus #14 or #54 to 35th Avenue and Suter. Allendale is a 1/2 block away at 3711 Suter.

Oakland Rec could do better to maintain their baseball fields.

I grew up here and it was and still is amazing.

I am glad this rec center is here to give kids a place to have fun without getting into trouble. It could probably use a little more funding for upkeep.

My elementary school / childhood red center....amazing memories from coach rob in 92-94 teaching us how to stack cups and play ping pong to coach dwayne & coach point perfecting my spiral and 3 pointer...even today with coach corona keeping things fresh by updating playtime from 4 square to 8. Ms. Mykah does a great job directing the center. Now all that added with the sincere OAKLANDISH stylethat Allen dale allumni COACH SKY brings,

The grass is not cut enough, otherwise I love playing softball at the park. Fun times to be had!
