Killer spot for a light but filling meal. Everything is perfect. High quality fish, perfect sticky rice thats nice and warm wrapped in a crisp nori wrap. 100% amazing! Love the high top bar too. We managed to eat there even with a stroller. Best to do on off hours-- like 3pm on a weekday.

Yoshis is an Oakland fixture. Sushi is good and the jazz is world class. I was especially impressed with the Veggie Lovers entree which was definitely big enough to share. They roll their maki BIG and have some really imaginative and tasty options, but its a fairly small menu compared to many other sushi joints. Their more western entrees help even out the offerings.

Yoshi the restaurant is nice; its intimate, a little dark and a little sexy. Its a nice e place for date night if you like that kind of food. We ordered 3 appetizers and the bill came to $53. One appetizer was 5 shrimp. The shrimp were only ok. If it was not for the nice ambience and live music, I would never return. Its nice to experience once or for a concert. Now the seating inside for the concert was HORRIBLE unless youre small and short. I have included a picture of my knees hitting the chair in front of me. The tables was so small, there is no way 4 people can eat at one time. Probably wont be back, just uncomfortable.Angie Stone put on a nice ONE hour show for $59... per person. 3 stars because the restaurant and the show were both nice.

Always a great time At Yoshi’s. Get there early for the best seats. I would love to be able to pay a little more for the up front seats. We are not local and travel to this venue. You must go there and order dinner for the better seats. If you hit traffic or work you won’t get good seats!

Enjoyed my visit. We went for dinner and to hear Eric Benet sing. The staff was friendly. Just a word of advice about the concert venue, try not to get a booth. We were to the left of the singer. Where I sat in the booth, I had to turn my neck to watch the singer. It was my birthday. They gave me Creme Brulee. It was yummy.

The fact that tickets still can’t be refunded considering there is a pandemic, and so many lost their jobs says a lot about this business and how little it cares about the people who support them. I bought 4 tickets for a concert in March of this year. You would think since the show was postponed all the way until June, they would give the option to refund. But no. I then get another email in the month of June saying it is postponed until Feb of NEXT YEAR. I understand the postponing of dates for safety. What I don’t understand is the fact that there’s still no option to refund when so many are out there struggling due to this pandemic and loss of jobs. The pandemic was out of my control and I bought the tickets before lockdown/quarantine. So for Yoshis to REFUSE to give me my money back to have the option to buy later is NOT what other businesses are doing, and is careless. This is a completely different situation from me not showing up to a show because of personal reasons which would make sense not to get a refund. That’s not the case here. I am sure there are great performances there but I refuse to support a business again with a team that operates this.

My girlfriend, friends, and I came here for dinner only. The food was very good and the service was fast. It’s pricey but no better or worse than any other Japanese or sushi spot. I hear the Jazz music is really good, too; if you eat dinner there, you get preferred seating for the music (or so I’ve been told). If you like Japanese food and sushi, definitely check Yoshi’s out.

This is a good spot for a nice meal. Nothing blew my mind, and service took a little long (without check ins from our server). Got the wrong food delivered and then the wrong drinks delivered to us, but was corrected when I notified the server. When we got the correct food it was tasty and enjoyed it. The live jazz was a nice touch as well but we did not stay for the entire show.

Bus waiters snatch your plate without asking before dish is empty and stack dirty plates in your face, ask you to hand them stuff across other guests, and dont keep water refilled. Beet salad tasty $11. Classic Sashimi fresh $20. Vegetable tempura $13. Shrimp $ scallops fritter (mostly onion) $16. Beef skewers appetizer delicious 5 for $16.

Share reviewEmbed reviewWrite an updateEdit review6/11/2020I tried contacting Yoshis to request a refund prior to them posting a new Corona Virus policy on their website. I left messages on the Box Office recorder but no one returned my call. I called and left messages for Yoshis Management to contact me - again, no one gave me the courtesy of returning my calls. I emailed Yoshis management and once again they would not give me the courtesy of a response. I left messages on Yoshis management cell phone - and once again I did not receive a call back.Though I know that all businesses are struggling during this pandemic, I do not think that Yoshis is doing the right thing for the community and the welfare of vulnerable senior citizens by not allowing them to opt-out and receiving a refund if they feel uncomfortable (given the current circumstances) or those not willing to put heir lives at risk by attending concerts especially when the tickets were purchased many months prior to the concert date. Please note that other venues (such as the Heritage Theater in Campbell) are offering refunds to patrons who do not feel comfortable attending concerts under these circumstances.

I went there for Valentines day. I understand that you get ripped on V-Day and I was prepared. This was a bit extreme though. I spent roughly $400 for dinner and a show for 2. The show was worth it $100. The dinner was another story. They brought me the wrong app twice. Then we were literally the last people to get each course. The waiter had to say he needed to check with the kitchen each course afterwards. I’ll probably see shows there again. Never going to the restaurant. The food was decent. Dessert was really good.

Yoshis is the best place in the San Francisco Bay Area to take in a concert. Yoshis concert room provides an intimate setting to really enjoy a musical experience. There isnt a bad seat there. The Restaurant:Fairly pricey but you are here for dinner before the show. The food is not bad, the fish can be fresher but overall decent. The service was really good. Friendly, efficient. The best part about having dinner here is you get priority assigned seats. With that said, you must come to dinner earlier since you will get better seatings. The Music Venue:Very cool stage, great intimate atmosphere. Contrary to what others say there are bad seats in the house if you are way off to one side. You would want to be in the middle even if you are further back. The seats are comfortable but quite packed.

What a pleasure it was dining here for my friends birthday. The space is expertly designed with an open, modern visual aesthetic while managing to be warm and comfortable. Although packed with people getting dinner before the show it was not too noisy and our party of 6 didnt have to yell to be heard across the table. The entire place cleared out once the show started and we had the place to ourselves. The sushi was some of the best Ive ever had as was the service. The salmon!! Ill never forget it. I went for a show and dessert with a friend. I couldnt tell if they gave us bad seats because we didnt eat dinner beforehand or what. The layout of the seating is awful. We were cheek to cheek with strangers, and if the guy in front of me put his arm on his table, I couldnt see the stage. Dont come here if youre claustrophobic! That said, the show was great, the acoustics were good, and the food was phenomenal. I just wish I didnt feel packed in like a sardine.

This is an upscale Japanese food restaurant located close to Jack London Square in Oakland. The food is high quality, the service is very good and the staff perform in an exemplary manner. This restaurant is clean, nicely appointed and I enjoyed the atmosphere. There is also live music in one area of this restaurant, for which tickets are sold as you enter the building. On this occasion of my visit, the tickets were $30 per person. I came solely for the food and didnt hear the music, so I cant render an opinion on its quality. Parking is easy, as there is a large city-operated parking structure within one minutes walk to the front door of Yoshis. I ordered a lot of food and one drink for my guest that resulted in a bill for about $179, tip included. I feel that the amount I spent was worth it. Ill go back there again in the relatively near future.

I would be willing to wait for a refund if they stated such but instead they told me I would be refunded and complete did not provide a credit. Very unprofessional service and when this pandemic is over you will have many less customers.Update: 5/23/2020 - I was refunded by PayPal. This company tried to dispute me saying that didnt owe me.
