Had an amazing experience when coming here to see Polo & Pan! I was blown away by how big it was once getting inside!! If I was ever back in the Bay Area again, I would 100% check out if there were any bands / artists I’d be interested in seeing here!

Great historic theatre. Went here for a show, staff were very efficient getting guests in and were very helpful which is uncommon with events staff

Clean and fabulous venue! Easy to find, this is a wonderful place to go and see something you love. Being a pianist, I’m extremely sensitive to overall sound quality but this venue does a great job keeping the sound clean and to the point. Just out the line out because they bring in some kick butt acts

Always love going to the fox!! it is super close to the BART station, so you can take public transportation and completely avoid driving, which is awesome. I have never had any trouble in the neighborhood, day or night. The inside of the theater reminds me a lot of The Warfield in San Francisco. its old timey and classy. the Acoustics are awesome, theres no bad seat in the house and the Ada section and the people who work there are Beyond friendly & helpful. cant wait to go to more shows there!!

The best venue in the world. Everyone that works there is great it is in a good location with lots of food and of course it is absolutely beautiful. I would say about 75% of the bands/artists I have seen there have claimed that this is their favorite or one of their favorite venues to play at. I am always on the floor so I dont know how seats are but the floor is amazing. Pretty sizable with good views from everywhere. They also have air vents on the floor that keep the pit as cool as possible which is genius.

One of my favorite venues to see bands ! Great atmosphere, close by parking garages ($20 average) and great sound systems. Usually attract mostly hipsters from the area which I like.

This theater is gorgeous. The lighting and sound are excellent. The seats are situated such that even the taller people wont block you very much.

A good sized venue that was once an old theatre. It has nice ornate design inside and leveled terraces on the floor so youre not trying to see over peoples heads.

Really beautiful Art Deco theater with extremely comfortable seats and plenty of legroom so even if people have to walk by you its not a nuisance. But every scene seems to have a great view no matter what level or area you are in. I saw Van Morrison here recently and it was just a wonderful evening. Our seats were up in the mezzanine just right of Center. The Acoustics are great too and they do have a bar and restaurant on the first floor as well. They also have an additional bar on the main level of the theater. I would absolutely see more events here

Great venue with interesting designs along the walls. I was on the second floor so I had a good view of the stage. The sculptures have glowing eyes so its kind of creepy during a show lol

Beautiful theater inside and out, but it can be hard to find parking. BART is close by, but I havent tried it. I typically sit in the balcony which is pretty high and far from the stage. Most of the concerts Ive attended have general admission near the stage.

Its a great venue for concerts and movies, it has a unique nostalgic decoration that transport you back to the days it was open many decades ago, despite time this theater its beautiful and well preserved, l have been there mostly for concerts and the acustics of the Teather are really good! I highly recommend this place!

Saw Of Monsters and Men last night at the Fox theater and had an incredible time! This was the first time Ive been to Fox theatre but I was very impressed by the venue. The staff were all organized and well trained to move the crowd quickly and efficiently. The theatre had many restrooms that were easily accessible even during the show. Best of all, the venue itself was beautiful and the sound system is one of the best Ive heard. Definitely will come back here more often!

Just saw Sleater-Kinney at the Fox and the show was fantastic - great sound, not a bad seat in the house, no lines to get drinks, and a beautiful historic venue. I’ll definitely be seeing more shows here.

Today was the first time we visited and it was a very nice place to visit. This Christmas event was awesome. Everything from there was just amazing. My son used the restroom and he said everything was very nice and neet. One of kind. 100% beautiful....

A wonderful venue. Convenient to get to from BART and very open.

The size provides an intimate feel to concerts. Seating is very comfortable. Staff went out of their way to help us a year ago when my wife was using oxygen. They reseated us in fabulous seats!!! They checked on our comfort several times. Unbelievable!!!! Fan of venue for life!

The bar is good, the seats are big, and the sound is good. The only drawback is the parking. The city lot across the street closes at 730pm and there is never any street parking. Its downtown so its busy every night. There is a restaurant attached so after the show you can get a bite.

The team that works here is A+. Everyone was so helpful, friendly, and truly wanted you to have a great time. Excited to spend NYE with the Fox tnite!

Probably my favourite venue in the bay area. great acoustics, lights, and a unique layout. The Den makes an excellent place to start and end a show. take advantage of the reasonably priced VIP area for service during the show.

Its a beautiful venue with good sound. The staff is very friendly and professional. My only beef is that the drink prices are astronomical compared to every other single music venue in the Bay Area. $11 for a beer? That is just ridiculous

Machine Head put on a brilliant show. The venue is one of the best either side of the bay. I had a fantastic evening.

Now this place...Yess. Every seat is a great seat. Although I was 9 rows from the stage, any seat is good. Seen Jill Scoty. Its a nice intimate venue. The have full bars and balcony. This is where I will see shows in Oakland.

This was such a great venue inside. Full of character and great sound for a small venue. We saw Twenty one Pilots here 4 years ago and it was perfect. Walking from parking to the venue can be kind of confusing but really cool place

Went for a private screening. Bldg is an older historical landmark in Oakland. Beautiful vintage decor. Ok coarse parking is terrible. Theres a lot a block away but its better to ride share. Easy to find right off Broadway. Great venue to see a play or concert.

Its so gorgeous, not classic Art Deco like the Paramount a block away, incredibly ornate. The restoration is amazing, its a beautiful place to see any kind of show. No leg room in the balcony seats though.

Great acoustics for an intimate feel venue. Definitely lacking on the VIP experience. Plain pasta and super plain turkey as appetizers was dismal. Great personality from entrance employees but actual lounge staff was very off in the happiness department smh.

A little pricey on the drinks and parking ticket I was scammed on by a civilian but all in all it was great time and the fox security was very hospitable and understanding.

Love this Venue! Absolutely gorgeous architecture! Feels pretty spacious inside. Parking is pretty difficult in that area, so plan to take a ride share or walk a few blocks

BEAU-tiful venue in Uptown Oakland. I came here to see pod save America. There were long lines even for ticket holders but they moved really quickly. The guards were also really good at watching for line cutters and putting them in their place! You can get a drink at the bar on the first floor and bring it into the theater with you. The ceiling is gorgeous.

The best indoor music venue in Norcal hands down. Perfectly restored venue with flawless acoustics. And the air vents on the floor are a huge bonus while being packed in front of the stage!!

I appreciated the recreation parks all together. Through Stephen Curry and family with friends blessed our families for Christmas. Thank each and all now and over the years with support!

The Fox theatre in Oakland is a classic venue. One of the greats in the east bay. Great place for great music. Definitely check it out if you get a chance.

My first time here I saw Oliver Tree, it was great! The theater was beautiful, balcony seating is actually some of the best in the house. This venue isnt too huge which is also nice and makes for a more intimate show.

This is a great concert venue; Duran Duran and the Go-Gos were terrific, as was the back of this guys head. Much fun to have in the area both before and after. Viva Oakland and the Fox!

I dont even know how to explain how much I love this venue! It is so pretty. You can stand anywhere on the floor or in the seat have a great View. The staff is always pretty friendly and even wanted the super crowded the line seem to flow pretty quickly. And the sound is fantastic too.

One if the best places for a concert! The sound was amazing!! There was enough room even with a packed concert.

The fox theater is a nice venue. The bar is toward the back of the venue while there are seats in the balcony as well as below the balcony and then the floor near the stage. Its a nicely kept place.

What an amazing venue for a show. Beautiful, vintage and eclectic feel. Great sound!I wasnt able to buy their pre-sale tickets but its a good thing to keep in mind for future events.We watched the Yeah Yeah Yeahs from the first balcony and had a blast! Super comfortable seats including cup holders and tray. Plenty of leg room and perfect view to the stage. They also have a bar that serves food (pub grub)! I highly recommend it!Parking was easy a block away 20us fixed price, be there early to get a spot!

Such a great place for a show, if youre disabled. We were about 50 feet from the stage, with no one around us, and the bar literally right behind us. The staff was wonderful, and left us right up to the front of the line.

Thursday is their Friday here! Our daughter went to a concert while we hung out. She had a great time. Its clean and has plenty of security. We recommend this place for concerts. Just remember to read the signs. No in and outs. Once you leave, after being inside, you cant go back in. This makes it more secure. The staff was kind and helpful. They allowed parents to wait inside the lobby.

Really enjoy going here and just can’t fault it. The venue is just about the coolest in Oakland and add to whatever act you might be seeing here. I regularly check their schedule to make an excuse to visit again. The bar next door is really cool too

One of my favorite places in my favorite city in the world. I’ve seen some concerts here like slightly stoopid & rebelution & also many plays such as roger and Hammersteins version of Cinderella, Aladdin and Lion King to name a few! So beautiful in its architecture and it’s very nostalgic to me. Love it and always will.

CRAZY VENUE WOW! Place is really clean, sounds great, and staff is generally friendly. Just FYI, at the show I was at, they didnt allow people who purchased tickets in the balcony onto the ground level, which seemed a little strange. There was definitely room on the ground level, seems like if people paid more for balcony seats they should be able to check out ground level too. BUT besides that, dope place!

This place is a gorgeous venue to see live music. I recently saw Dream Theater here and it was my first visit to the Fox. Parking was easy, I found the Rotunda Garage which closes at midnight, and was a two block walk to the Fox. Once inside, and seated at the Lodge, the views were spectacular. Sound also was amazing. I will be back for sure.

Amazing interior! Didn’t expect it going in. It would actually be a reason to go back there for another show, just to look at that crazy ceiling. Even if you are bored from the show, just take a look around.Quite easy to get to from San Francisco being so close to the BART station - just a quick walk though of course as sketchy as the civic center station in SF at night.

Ive seen so many great performances here. The acoustics mare great, the theater is sooo beautiful. The drinks are a little pricey.

My experience was Lioness, Dem Atlas, and Atmospehere as the headliner March 9th 2019.We were able to find free parking, easily, about a block away.Slug was out front shaking hands with people in line, he took selfies with us, before he had to go. So grateful for that experience.Inside the venue, the facilities were great. The sound was amazing. Plenty of bars, with little to no waiting. Their servers were knockin em out fast.The assist staff was VERY courteous. During the show there were a number of incidents, from puke to several subjects passing out for various reasons.All were handeled very professionally and discreetly too.Overall, what a great experience.

Pit of Drunkenness and Bad SoundPros:Very close to BART.Lovely structure inside and out.Admission lines moved smoothly.Pretty comfortable seats with ample legroom.Cons:Terrible sound: distorted on top, boomy on bottom, muddy in the middle.Drunken, rude, loud, singalong patrons who arrived drunk, got drunker and louder as show wore on.The longest bathroom lines of any venue ever.Lots of adult beverages for sale but no food I could see.Bottom line: Not recommend. Not going back.

GREAT ... place to see a show !If you can sit in love the view is perfect and so is the sound, plus the whole inside is beautiful.

The sound technician needs to take into account the size of the venue and how to mix the sound properly. Most of the music is completely drowned out by the bass and even earplugs don’t help. Also avoid parking outdoors, our car was broken into while we were gone.

The theater is beautiful! Great sound and very spacious! I loved it.

The recording says open fridays from 12-7pm. I drove there to get tickets from a distance and got there they were closed. A few other people came and left. Im still waiting until a nice gentleman looked on their website and it showed it was closed that Friday. Im saying why couldnt you put it on the recording?? Everyone dont check the website!!!

This venue is impressive! The organization of staff allows for such smooth entry, event and exit. The tiered floor is perfect for multi layered viewing. We will definitely be back to see our favorite bands in this incredible venue!

Attended Oliver Tree at the Fox. WOW, what an impressive theater. I live in Sacramento and this reminds me of our own Crest Theater, but clearly larger and nicer but with that amazing Art Deco appeal. Great services, awesome sound system and decent views of stage from anywhere in the house.

This might be the best place in Oakland to see a concert! Great views from the floor to the balcony, plus the acoustics are top notch. Ive seen classic rock, hip-hop, and edm shows here and all were memorable in their own way.

We went to Winter Wonderland hosted by the Eat, Learn, and Play Foundation. We had a wonderful time. The theater is beautiful.

I love this venue for seeing shows. Ive sat upstairs and stood for general admission and both are a great experience. Weve also hung out in the lounge before and after shows and its just nice to have that option.Great street parking if you can get it but reasonably priced lots nearby as well. Lots of food options nearby as well and even more now than there used to be.

No bad seats in the house. The main floor only has a slight slope to it so its not the best venue for short people when its standing room. Otherwise the decore is very fun with its art deco Egyptian vibe.

It was my very first concert at this venue, which is a refurbished theater in the middle of downtown Oakland. It has some attractive African and Islamic motifs and features. In any case, I was there to see King Crimson, who was celebrating their 50 years of existence with a tour which made 2 performances here. It was a great show, as I expected.

Excellent theater with impressive architecture and solid acoustics. A go-to spot for world-class acts.
