A beautiful lakeside park. Great for walking, biking, sitting, picnicking, rowing, paddling, fishing... There is literally something for everyone.

This is one of my favorite places here in Oak Ridge. I come here all the time to walk, ride bikes, picnic, and for birthday parties. Its beautiful and well-kept with plenty of open space.

Melton Lake Park is a wonderful place to walk, bicycle, canoe, kayak or just hangout. It is on the lake and has gorgeous views. There are benches along the lake to sit on. There are walking/cycling trails, bathrooms and kayak rentals.

We love walking at this park. One of the few places you can walk after dark and still feel somewhat safe. The section of the trail that runs between Calhouns and CarFix is well lit with a decent amount of traffic going by even at night, so it isnt too isolated to walk there at night.

Most of the docks are tied off and the boat ramp was covered in lake-snot. Too slick to stand on when exciting my kayak. Otherwise, nice facilities and plenty of parking.

We went for the great bike path. The view of the river is wonderful. The bathrooms were large and clean!

Had a good time with son and grandkids. Rented peddle boat, had a good time.

Found this place quite by accident.... Beautiful! Has several amenities or you can just find a peaceful bench along the lake. Definitely want to go back.

Lots of great views as you walk by the river and a nice smaller playground for little kids. We were there right at dusk as the fog started to roll in from the water. It was a really nice place to have a peaceful evening with the family. The only real downside is that area gets very busy during rowing events.

Love this park it is so peaceful, great for exercising, relaxing and spending time with your family.

Nice trail for walking, running and riding bikes. Lots of space for picnics. There is a water recreation building to do rowing.

This is one of my favorite places to stop by and slow down. The beautiful atmosphere never disappoints.

Wonderful place to recreate! The greenway is really nice for biking, walking, and running. Ill be coming back!

We fish here frequently. They have rentals to use for fishing etc. Play ground, public bathroom, office, the lake is easily accessible. They have sidewalks paved for jogging and walking etc. They have many docs for boating etc. Its very safe. Very clean. Very beautiful.

I Was at the Lake for a regatta. The park as always is a wonderful place to host it.

Enjoy walking along the water in this park as it has a tranquil setting. Nice to watch rowing teams practice here. Great for jogging.

The scenery is beautiful! We spent most of our time in the lake on our small boat. We saw 4 snakes though ! Im not a fan of snakes so it freaked me out a bit. It made for a memorable experience.

Beautiful place to go and have a lunch and enjoy with a special someone and good place to go fishing!

Great park! There are generally no a lot of people there and there are plenty of things to do including a playground, volleyball, and bike and running trails. My only complaint would be that the water is always cold even in the summer. But overall, it is a great park with beautiful views of the lake.

This place is beautiful. I didnt like the fact that the park is roped off Im assuming for covid. That why we came was do our children could play.

Its A Good Park To Visit

Melton Lake Park is a nice place to walk, run, bike or sit on a bench and watch the moon rise or the sun rise. On one end if the walking trail is Calhouns restaurant. At the other end is Haw Ridge, which has lots of hiking trails.

Great small park with plenty of parking. Has a small playground, a pavilion with picnic tables, and more picnic tables down the paved trail (not sure if there’s more parking next to those tables). Great place to walk along the river. There were a couple of portable bathrooms.

Love this place its so pretty They have duck food for .25 cents so dont forget some change when you head there cause its so much fun feeding the ducks!!!

Not a lot of shade on a hot summer day, and the kayaks let water in, so you get a wet butt. Fun to paddle though. I saw a hawk, some cormorants, fish, and some turtles.

I go there every week to take my dog for a walk. It has plenty of parking areas, it also have a playground and some benches to take a break or to eat at.

Its a very well maintained area, and its a beautiful place to walk.

Would have been 5 but there was a bit of trash on the banks of the lake. Its honestly pretty sad to see, but its still beautiful there.

This is the highlight of Oak Ridge. A beautiful lake with picnic areas, a beautiful trail, water sports like canoeing and paddling, festivals, etc. Oak Ridge is a rural area with a lot of run down areas. Although it is improving, I find it to be mostly depressing. But you easily spend a whole day here.

We had my daughters very first birthday there, and it has so much room for people to do so many things yet not crowded . My daughter is 11 now and we walk and ride bikes all the time gorgeous place!

Great place to take a walk or bike along the trail that follows the lake or have a picnic or just let the kids play in the playground area. Melton Lake Park has something for everyone !!

Feeding the ducks food was the only mid day fun we could have as the sun made the entire playground too hot for play as theres no shaded or covered toy equipment. The duck feeding was a fun new experience for our 2 1/2 yr old daughter Trinity.

Decent sized park with a lengthy greenway perfect for biking, running, or walking! The greenway connects into two other parks on each end, as well as connecting to the Emory Road greenway.

I love coming here to walk. Its a great place to get some peace of mind. The staff that works here is friendly and knowledgeable.

The view is amazing

I love this park I really do. And for what it is it isnt terrible. But the big gazebo that you pay to rent doesnt have all the outlets working. The volleyball court is half weeds and grass. The kids pay ground seems pretty decent though.

So Peaceful!

It is a serene place. There is a kids play area. And also a picnic area. There is also a place to rent out bicycles and boats. There is a duck feeding area and you can buy the duck feed for a quarter.

Such a beautiful environment

This park is beyond amazing from the great views the park has to show and the wild life that you see. You wont ever be disappointed when coming here.

Ive always loved this park, and Oak Ridge City has done a lot to make it a beautiful place to take your loved ones!

Its beautiful at times some times not so much based on rain patterns

This is such a wonderful running, walking, biking area just minutes from most areas of Oak Ridge, TN. We like to eat at one of the restaurants then stroll along the river watching ducks, geese, and song birds. There is a public boat launch ramp and plenty of free parking. The riverside trail is paved so can be used by wheelchairs, scooters and walkers. A large play area and picnic pavilion are also part of the complex. Kids love to feed the ducks and fish that hang out at the boat ramp and docks. Plan on spending a while enjoying nature and people watching.

Great greenway and views

In my humble opinion this is one of the most beautiful places on Earth! Theres a peace and serenity that flows with the water and out from the trees and herbiage. A great place for all types of exercises, picnic, fun and just watching.

Melton Lake Pavilion is a great place for a party. There is a playground for kids. Volleyball and the pooches even love the outdoors. Plenty of trash cans around and lots of picnic tables.

Beautiful place

My favorite favorite place in Oak Ridge TN. It is a great place for outdoor activities such as Running, bike ride, swimming and kayaking.Also a great area for a fall photoshoot, the colors in fall are incredible and the lake looks just beautiful.It is a wonderful place to go for a relaxing walk as well. And dont forget to have your camera ready in case the sunsetnis stunning.

Nice biking and walking trails along the river and through the woods. Very nice.

Beautiful park with just as beautiful scenery, maybe with the exception of the actual dam itself. TVA has a very helpful and informative display about what they are doing to provide energy from Green sources and utilizing power saving solutions such as LED. This park is very convenient to Interstate 40.

It is just great to have a area like Melton Lakenearby. Today the rising teams were racing.We enjoyed the races and the people of all ages that came out to enjoy the water, racedand beautiful weather here in East Tennessee.GO VOLS!!!!!

Cute little park with a fantastic walking trail. A very nice covered pavilion that can be reserved. Excellent views! Sometimes they have rowing competitions here which is neat or it has been a leg in the Oak Ridge marathon.

Had a great time kayaking with my daughter today and even picked up a little trash out if the water to do our part. No matter how hot it is, the water is always cold, brrr... :)
