I spent the summer in Norwalk and Sound Sailing Center was one of my favorite activities.- Great classes (took the Intro and Basic Keelboat)- Instructors were knowledgeable and friendly and you could tell they really loved sailing- They have great boats (Ensigns) - these things are very forgiving for beginners but as I got better I could really get them to do what I wantedIm heading back to NYC but will really miss this place. The staff is a wonderful family and super helpful with anything I needed!Highly recommend the classes and membership.

I owned a 33 ft Hunter sloop in Norwalk for five years. That was a lifetime ago. I miss that boat! Now its OPBs- other peoples boats...When I found Sound Sailing I was able to use a number of different boats in the membership category I joined. It was great to sail again. Martin is an expert, a true professional and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. My needs were complicated by my schedule and Martin was very accommodating in many respects. Their utmost concern is our safety. Ive been sailing for about 20 years. I sent my wife to the school for some basic classes and she did well (though she worked harder than she does when she goes sailing with me!). An awesome perk of this organization is that there are a couple of boats up in Mystic for the members. We were able to take boats from Mystic and sail in Fischers Island Sound and over to RI which was really cool and then another time we sailed over to Block Island for an awesome weekend. I got a lot of stars from my wife for that weekend! It was great. Thanks to Martin and the staff for your service and expertise! Were looking forward to future good times!

Wow, stayed overnight on 40 in Mystic and was one of the best nights of my life! Mystic earns its name with the beautiful mist at 6:30am, Loved it, the staff is Superb, much appreciated!

Sound Sailing was unwilling to provide a refund after I could not complete my prepaid lessons before the end of the season due to me catching the coronavirus.

If you want to get a bunch of sailing experience quickly, take the advanced cruising course here. Head and shoulders above other classes

One of the few sailing schools in the area, in a great location. However, the boats are poorly maintained. The instructors are frequently not paid for their work. There is a trail of instructors that quit working there because of the long delays in getting paid, the lack or record keeping on the part of the school, and the hap-hazard way things are run. The place is understaffed, and that explains it. Its a small business and has seasonal cash flow problems. Still, it is not acceptable to withhold employee pay. He uses a loop hole that instructors are contractors to get around paying any benefits, and being a slow or no payer. For these reasons, I recommend you not use this facility.

I love sailing, and I get to make new friends with all of the kids that come here. So, more fun for me!
