Great customer service but a little ru n down

They really try to make everyone happy. They have lots and lots of options. They have spin classes, water aerobics, some good cardio equipment, racket ball, tennis, pickle ball, pickup basketball game times, child care, fun bouncy house time for young kids, some food (mostly unhealthy) and league teams for basketball, volleyball, etc. They try to do a little of everything and try to make everyone happy. Sometimes the result is they cant emphasize doing one thing great. For example, their weight room is not very great. Their two cardio rooms are ok, but leave something to be desired. The pool is really the only public option during the winter. The other thing I dont like about this place is that it is right across from the middle School and it is absolutely packed full of wild kids once school gets out. So, if you are somebody who is looking for a family place or you want all around fitness, including some sports, this is the best place for you in town. But if you just want a really nice weight room with the best equipment there are better places in town.

Have been going here since I was little. Some staff have been there for 10, 15, or more years. Always friendly, great swimming area indoors with water slide, toddler pool, diving boards, roped lap area, hot tub, sauna, two basketball courts, big locker rooms, weight lifting room, 2 cardio rooms (one upstairs in court area, one looking into pool area), yoga area with equipment, game room, and 2 racket ball courts. Good prices and the only negatives are the size of weight room (has one of mostly everything one would need but can get crowded), not open too late, and right across from a middle school so when kids are out they flock to it (just crowded). Recommend

Super fun with just a ton of kids playing. Kinda wish more parents came to the Rec to supervise their kiddos; it can be a little Lord of the Flies in the gymnasium.

The pools are nice but are decent in size, more rectangular shaped. Nice water slide and diving boards along with an exercise room and game room with pool and tennis. They have a large b-ball room with concessions by the door. Great place for families in the summer!

Great service. The staff are welcoming and the lifeguards have to be the best in the state. The facilities are well cared for and easy to use. And the concessions stand is delicious and cheap. All in all a great environment for all ages.

It has a good basketball court

Nice to have in a smaller community. But could really use a major renovation and expansion to share with a growing demand of swimming sports and events/ training.

Can not get a membership. Guy said they are closed until further notice

I dont use this place I was there for the Senior Games for nebraskaland days.

The best place for practicing in North Platte. Cheap and have everything you need. Gym, cardio, basketball and volleyball courts, sauna, swimming pools.

I LOVE this rec center, I love the people who work there. Every time I go they are always friendly! I recommend it to anyone who is traveling through, or anyone who lives here! Great place!

Great experience, very friendly people will to help. I have been enjoying the water aerobics and just using the pool to walk in. Helps the joints. Thanks for having a place to go to while we are in town.

Great staff and a facility that really ties the community together; this place is always busy. It is in bad need of an upgrade though, especially with all the use it gets.

I had a membership here for 6 months and I was not impressed. The entire place is extrememly dated. I have been a YMCA member in the past, and the differences between a private organization and a city run facility are evident as soon as you enter. There is very little cardio equipment and during the winter there are issues with stuff shorting out. The weight room is a converted racketball court. The group exercise classes all cost extra and are very limited. I am sure there are numerous reasons for the equipment, facilities, and activities too all suck, but after meeting a board member I know why. The only thing this facility has going for it is the price. I plan on finding a different facility this winter and am looking forward to a better experience this year! I would only recommend membership if you are in need of a pool or basketball court.
