I had an appointment out this way and wanted to go for a walk in nature. this was a wonderful location. I did some yoga on the beach and it started raining it was beautiful.
Beautiful Beach, great tides, and few people. Theres a nice museum and gift shop, and the boardwalk to the beach has an amazing view. Ive witnessed several flying fish. If youre lucky a golf cart might pass through to drive you across. When passing through the nature trail, there will occasionally be signs to pinpoint what kind of trees or animals reside in this area.
We rented Kayaks for a half day and we had the best time! The kayaks are in good shape. If youre renting its first come first serve so you should arrive at the gift shop promptly at 9am or shortly thereafter. If you rent for 4 hours youll get a discount. You must grab a vest first before you go into the gift shop to get your rental. They use the number on the vest to hold your rental, as well as your credit card. They also provide a map of the best route to take. Very professional staff and quick in and out.Be sure to check the weather and tides before attempting to go out. They will not rent out the kayaks if the weather isnt so great. Enjoy!!
What a beautiful Park! It is truly amazing hair! There is a boardwalk that brings you over to an island where theres a beach that you can go and hang out on. I had fun just walking around by myself. The next time I go Im definitely going to rent a kayak and go kayaking around the sound. It looks like so much fun!
This place is pristine. Always clean and well-kept. Beautiful area to feel at one with nature.
Awesome place. Lots to do..and see...on land and off! ( Walk, bike, hike, paddle, canoe, fish, swim, snorkel, dive....)About $5 to park all day. Has gift shop, showers, rest rooms, security. Cool scenery!Opens early and closing after sunset.
Water was great, only a few other people and they have kayaks plus a nature trail.
Great peaceful oasis...walk or ride across the boardwalk to the really beautiful beach. Interesting trails. Great for kids, kayakers, bathers, everyone can enjoy this spot. Spend the whole day! One of the the best $5 ( per car) you will spend.
Beautiful Park, truck filled with activities. There is kayak rentals, Wildlife walks, a beautiful beach and a lot more. I come here all the time with my own kayak and my dog and I will be coming here a lot more often now that the cold is gone.
Beautiful! The beach had very few people on it. The water was crystal clear and the sand bars were awesome. You can walk a few hundred yards into the water.
This place is preserved so well and so wild! I was walking across their amazing boardwalk and was able to observe flying fish and their predators eating them after a drawn out chase. This was very National Geographic! Need to rent some canoes next time.
Great place to go for a day trip and after you visit the beach to get a little souvenir. They have a little nature center with an outdoor theatre (Im assuming they do wildlife shows and demos but Im not 100% certain). Ive been here quite a few times and enjoy myself every time I go! I might rent one of their kyaks next time I go and paddle around for a bit!
Simple, but informative place. Has a reseption desk, as well as small museum with history, nature trail description, and a mini zoo with a few snakes. Two large aquariums, one with fishes, and one with turtles. In a separate building you visit gift shop/kayak rental center. Beware of the weather forecast, if they see rain on their forecast, you wont be able to rent.
It was a pleasure to be at this bridge. There’s not much nature walks here in FL that isn’t ocean. So this kinda gives you a little bit of a hike feel on the coast. Don’t forget to pay for parking and shop at the gift shop, it helps contributes to sea turtles and environmental conservation!
Awesome hikes and the guide is hilarious. I went with my kids and their school it was great! Going back in the near future for Kayaking
Fantastic! Bit of a hike in, there is a tramfor most of the way. Plus, handicap access. Secluded and relaxing. Parking is $5 per car but definitely worth it.
Love the park and the beach. Was disappointed that the center was still closed due to Covid restrictions.
Beautiful scenery, board walk to beach is super long .
Very nice and quiet, natural beach. The nature trail that parallels the beach is a nice walk bu watch out for orb spiderwebs and spiders as they span the trail. Theyre harmless spiders but no one likes spider webs in their face or hair.
Florida has many wonderful hidden gems, and this is DEFINITELY one of them!
Only $4 entrance fee to this amazing state park. Great education center with interactive exhibits. Really reasonable rates for membership & kayak rentals. Terrific gift shop selection. Love it every time.
A very nice Park Longmont Mangrove trails kayak rental Long walking bridge to the beach nice park
Nice little outing, picknick area. Just watch out for them banana spiders!
Love it no tram missed that
Hidden part of paradise. Must stop and take in the nature on your walk to the beautiful beach. Take your kayak or paddle board. If you dont have kayak they may have rentals available for you.
Place was well maintained. Really peaceful with lots of activities for everyone. Shuttle service came in handy after a short trek. Great for families who love the outdoors.
It is a perfect spot to learn about Florida native coadtal flora, the maritime hammock, estuaries and Dunes.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice display of local fauna especially for a small Nature Center. Clean facility too.
MacArthur provides a nature-forward beach experience that is worth working for. A very long walk (1/2 mile?) over a wooden walkway gets you from the parking lot to the dune. But you get a lot of beach for the trouble of packing and lugging your own stuff.Tip: If you are swimming, beware the hard coral in the surf.
Loved it! Enjoyed kayaking around the estuary.
Nice place for a sand dune hike. Nature trail with marked vegetation. Really liked the needle fish on the causeway. But the snook werent taking the bait according to a fisherman we met.
Great nature experience me and my family loved it highly recommend
Wonderfully informative hiking tour of local plants and animals. Gorgeous park! Highly recommend!
I didnt get to see much of this park but I did get to see manatees feeding within seconds of getting on the boardwalk. Im looking to getting there much earlier than closing time.
Beautiful Old Florida atmosphere. Trails, Nature center, gift shop. Kayaking, hiking, Ocean side Beach and a tram to take you to and from the beach. Awesome experience
They were having a nature event which was some food carts and some educational.
This is THE best place to kayak. Ive been coming here for years and theres still something new to discover each time!
This park is beautiful the beaches are aqua blue and warm. Great day,
A beautiful beautiful place for the entire family. A must see
Very nice scenery. A small beach. You can rent a kayak.
Lots to see and do for the family. Very scenic. Peaceful area, quiet, and educational.
Beautiful park with plenty shaded areas and access to a nice beach
Love it here! My husband discovered this place years ago on his route passing by. We checked it out and enjoyed. Theres a board walk to enjoy the nature view, private beach, and you can kayak.
This is a great park! Get there early and rent a kayak. Be sure to check tides because at low tide, youll have to walk your kayak instead of paddle because of how shallow it can get. Ive seen dolphins and lots of jumping fish. The beach is great and behind the sand dunes there is a nice shaded nature walk with lots of butterflies. There are lots of places to picnic and places to launch your own kayak/paddle board/canoe
Very serene, they do an excellent job with upkeep and they offer alot of activities including Kayak rentals. Friendly staff, would very much recommend!
We walked the boardwalk, explored the seashore, enjoyed a picnic under the shady canopy of native trees, and enjoyed the gift shop. Next time, we hope to kayak.
Passed by and decided to stop. Paid $5.00 to get in. Had a little over a mile walk to the water and back via a very nicely kept pier. Fish were jumping constantly and we had nice views of the ocean once we made it to the beach.
Beautiful beach park, but sadly we were there shortly after their close miss from hurricane Dorian so swimming was not recommended. I would love to return to try the beach again and maybe kayak the lagoon.
Excellent place for a walk with great river and beach views. Long boardwalk bridge to the beach, I recommend taking the golf cart ride to or from the beach, available only from 8 am to 4 pm. Nice gift shop. Great spot for kayaking or paddleboarding.
Nice beach. Nice layout, only thing is the walk to get to the beach. But overall, really nice beach. No lifeguards blowing their whistles every time you wander too far.
It’s a very well organized park. Although, if you want a kayak on the weekend during peak season (November - March) make sure to get there early! Once a month they host a trash-pickup volunteer session that allows you to get in for free and help beach cleanup. They also have a car show with music and vendors about once a month. Worth checking out.
Beautiful park, easy to get to, staff was very nice.
Great place to spend the day Great views
Amazing place! Not to be missed if youre anywhere near Singer Island. Kayak rentals, great trails, lots of flora and fauna. Great for kids. Highly recommend.
Nice beach, beautiful nature center full of information about nature conservation. Also great place for kayaking
I had a wonderful day out with the kids. They enjoyed the trail( although no exciting sights were seen) and the bridge walk over the inlet. Overall enjoyed the outing here, could have been more interactive like with the ive turtles or stingrays since they were there in glass captivity tanks (turtle).
Did you ever watch virtually anything on PBS and then notice that it was provided thanks to sponsorship from the John D. and Katherine T. MacArthur Foundation? Well this is that MacArthur Park. Apparently Mr. and Mrs. MacArthur made their money by owning a lot of real estate. Anyway this is a beautiful piece of real estate that they donated to the state of Florida. Right at the North end of Singer Island.Pleasant and informative staff. Beautiful beach, estuary, and island. Hiking, kayaking, beach combing and learning. Also cute gift shop and sea turtle feedings. Dont miss the nature walks.
Beautiful Florida ecosystem exampleYou will fall in love with the great outdoors. Nice nature center and boardwalks. Handicap accessible handicap parking nice restrooms clean well kept State Park.
Best beach in South Florida! Gorgeous. Also had a little museum and gift shop. You can rent kayaks and snorkel.
This place holds a special place in my heart. Here today for the International Coastal Cleanup!
Beautiful natural park with lots of information about the plants and animals that live there.
Beautiful place. We were able to sign up for a tour to see loggerhead sea turtles come ashore and lay eggs.
My favorite beach on the treasure coast. Love the walk over to it and love having the public restroom in what I call the tree house. Great spot. Beautiful. Clean.
Lots of sites and things to do. Get up and close with some of the marine life.
Beautiful natural location. Busy day but staff was pleasant and informative. Live music was a nice touch. Great local history information as well.
Always love this place! Best beaches in the area. Always clean. I love the nature trail where you get a real feel for nature before coming to a beach that isnt overcrowded by loud tourists. Kayaking here is a memory I still love to tell people about. They have turtle nests on the beach. They also have a beach cleanup station to pick up trash from those who dont appreciate the beauty of nature. They also have a gift shop with shirts and jewelry, this is also where you can rent kayaks. $5 a vehicle to get in or you can purchase a years pass.
Beautiful place to go and enjoy nature or relax on the beach. Cost $5 to get in but worth it. Ended up cutting our day short cause we were in the ocean and there was a jellyfish. Yup.... No.... Im done.... Lol... Not getting stung by one of those. But we will be back. Especially cause we just moved down here.
Very nice park & beach. Great turtle volunteering opportunities!
Great park, clean Florida treasure. Guided trail walk was amazing.
Being apart of thier summer camp was amazing - trevor rodriguez
Great place! We left home thinking on Peanut Island and decided to stop here instead and so happy we did! Beach was clean and the prettiest water I´ve seen, white sand... The only not so good thing here is the walk until there, but it´s totally worth it!
A little bit of a walk to the actual beach (you can take the golf cart trolley). But never crowded and very natural
Good greif......where is the ocean?
This place has everything you want from Florida. A beautiful beach, hiking trails, picnic area, playground for the kids, live music, turtle watch, education center, kayaking tours/rentals, and a super nice staff of volunteers!
Beautiful beach, knowledgeable staff, wonderful boardwalk. Thank you Mr McArthur for your foresight & generosity.
The rain put a damper on swimming but the lady in the nature center made up for it. She let my boys pet the gray rat snake and was very knowledgeable about the snow when they had questions.
Beautiful beach. Nice nature center with a marine turtle on display in a tank. Boardwalk crosses a large mangrove lagoon.
Awesome beach to enjoy family with!
I absolutely love MacArthur park. There is so much to see and do there. Theres hiking, kayaking, birding, the beach and much more! Certainly a wonderful place for a family.
It was wonderful, and the whole place was stunning. All of the staff was kind and efficient too!
Dirty water. I wouldnt get into that water
Nice nature park and beach.
Loved loved loved this park! Its quite a hike to the beach so bring your stuff with you but so worth the walk! The beach is breath taking with lots of shells and crystal clear water.
Taste of both water worlds and their inhabitants. Very long bridge spanning the water way leading to the ocean. Nice little gift shop too.
I loved the natural beauty of the place, seclusion and its aquatic activities.
I absolutely enjoyed my time at this park it had it all nice nature walk plus beach life.
This is pretty most like a virgin beach . If you never see one please I invite you, it’s a must do in the life adventure .Kayaking and information about the environment is ready for you to enjoy . Take your time and walk arround, you may also want to see the schedule of activities they run .
Warm and Beautiful

Loved it!! Great board walk with awesome views. Free nature tours and great people!!
Great beach and awesome nature trail
Really nice place. Great for kayaking. Staff awesome except kayak gentleman he could use some practice in guest service maybe just a bad day for him.
All I can say is beautiful. Love love love this place. So relaxing and clean!
Very nice and very gorgeous
Fantastic place to kayak. Plenty of different island stops for a picnic. Watch out for low tide though. You might end up walking your kayak back instead of paddling.
