A great place to bring the family or even just come alone. Newly added dog park for big and small dogs with a doggie water play area. Great open fields for soccer, volleyball, frisbee, or anything really. Designated playground with a giant hill to play on. Beautiful running/walking/biking trail. And even a few scattered ponds to fish in or admire the wildlife on.

Beautiful park, lots of areas to explore! Theres a Waterpark, a play area with a sprinkler for the kids, soccer fields, a volleyball sand court, lots of picnic shelters, a big snack area with tables and umbrellas, nice bathrooms, a lake, a 18-hole disc golf course, really nice walking paths and bike paths, etc... we didnt have time to even see everything. We loved it and will definitely be back sometime.

We had an absolute blast!! I wish we had one of these parks in TN. The adults and kids enjoyed lying in/ playing in the water and splash pad area. The kids had a big time playing in the neighboring park area. Not too crowded, reasonably priced and clean. No complaints. Would highly recommend.

Excellent way to spend the day! Theres a dog park, sprinklers for the kids to play in, bike rentals paddle boat rentals, walking trails, to playgrounds and more than I can even remember. I can spend the whole day here for just $2 at the gate or you can buy a park past on the Charleston county Parks and recreation website. $20 park pass for a year, its so worth the money.

So much to do here and the county keeps it very clean and running smoothly. Entrance fee is very cheap and to rent things is also cheap. We did the kayaking and the sprinkler. All that consumed 4 hours at the cost under $10. Cant be that. And we didnt even do the whole park. Definitely a lot more to do. If youre gonna be here often, definitely get the year pass.

Excellent park to visit in North Charleston. Theres so many trails and paths to enjoy that you and your family could spend the whole day walking! Excellent to relax, bring the kids, puppies, walk with love ones etc. They are creating a new dog park and there is a water park that is open during summer. This park is very beautiful and the workers are nice. My boyfriend and I went on a picnic near the lake then went kayaking. This is a family friendly park with sprinklers and a lot of walking/bike trails. There are a lot of trees with shade, perfect for a picnic. There was a park police officer riding around the park on his bike which made it feel very safe. Its calm and quiet. I highly recommend it here. Dont hesitate!

I come here often. Fun place tho i think there should be more security here as sometimes kids are left unattended and can cause problems with other kids and no parents or any security/staff to complain to. (Tho this is rare). I think the bathrooms could be better and they should have better vending machines. I would recommend coming here for a birthday or picnic etc...

Only went to the dog park, its a nice area for the dogs. I would recommend they replace the buckets for the dogs drinking water, so they dont get sick. There was a ton of dog poop toward the back of the park. People should watch there dogs and clean up after them, not just socialize. Overall, its a nice dog park.

Review №52

We really enjoy coming to Wanamaker especially for the dog park. We love the fact that the dog park is huge, theres a great area for a dog to run around and interact with other dogs. Are toddler also love the park, and on warm days the splash pad is fantastic albeit sometimes a bit crowded. The only reason they lose a star, is because the grass is so tore up at the dock part that it gets very muddy after rain. Not sure if it can really be help since theres dogs running around there constantly, but a nicer area would take it to five stars.

Of all the county parks, this is one of our favorites. We bring our dogs here to walk the trails all the time. We even purchased the gold pass with how much we come here. We have never had an event here but it seems there are also people doing something here. We even witness a wedding once. The only down aspect is the have copper head snakes, so be very careful on the trails.

Love this place. There is a dog park, childrens play fountain (summer time), snack bar, playground, frisbee golf, paddle boats, and several trails. The main trail is paved and then there are several unpaved trails. Unpaved trails might be good for mountain bikes. I have a pass for Charleston county parks, otherwise its $2 entry. You can also rent space for parties. I have seen several weddings set up in the shelter area, inflatable bounce houses, and full sized bbq smokers. The water park is in the same area but separate from Wannamaker.

This is our favorite park. The playground is large with areas for big kids and little kids. The walking path is hardly ever busy and there is no competition with motor traffic. Most of the park is shady all day. All amenities are easily accessible from the parking lot. The splash pad is fun for the little kids though I wish there was more shade for spectators in that area. The weekends can be really busy at the park but were usually there weekday mornings and often have the place to ourselves.

What a fun, family-friendly park. We had been to Whirling Waters numerous times. However, this was the first time we went in the county park part. It is very lovely. And it has a newer concessions stand and facilities in the park center. It has a good playground, but the equipment could be updated more like James Island. The best part is that it is completely covered in shade. There is also a splash fountain area for children. We loved the trails and the peddle boats. We counted 8 turtles while we peddled. There are lots of picnic areas for rent or free. We will go back.

Came to the park at 3:25 (closes 5:45) to rent a 4 seat paddleboat for an hour or so. Stood in line to get aforementioned paddle boat just to be told the rentals stop at 4:00. No where on the website or on the sign posted at the rental area says anything like that, I was told the sign is outdated and was refused the rental. Seemed to me the kid working the counter didn’t want to do his job Won’t spend my money here again.

Update: over 2 hours in this parking lot! Come on!1) the alert online is not updated2) to help with the incredibly stupid traffic jam, why not open a concession stand with a shelter top out in the parking lot so people can hang out till traffic clears. Yall should be able to make up $$ in those concessions. Just move your employees and food on a cart over to a temporary limited items.Just sitting in a congested parking lot with kids is stupid!
