Different sections are fenced off for different size dogs. Great idea!!!
Nice big dog park. Most owners are very friendly. Our dogs love running around the open space.
Pretty nice area and a good pond to fish in.
Lots of space, toys, and areas for the pups. Everyone is very friendly too. Great little spot.
Nice and big. Most dogs are nice and well behaved. Not much shade though.
We enjoy taking our dog here, but its I imagine its much like taking your child to Reeves park, play at your own risk Everyone raises a dog differently! They have three areas; two for the larger dogs, which they rotate usage and one for smaller dogs. They have a water pump and stainless steel bowls and a kiddie pool out there for the pups. They took the swing out though. large parking lot along the park and extra parking toward the front, not too much shade or seating inside.
This dog park is a nice space for the pups to play and run off some energy. The city (usually) does a good job of maintaining it and keeping it stocked with poop bags. There are a few benches to sit on, scattered throughout. The city has planted more trees recently, and it will be a pleasure to watch them grow.My biggest complaints would be that there is no running water during the winter months, and we really do need a bigger park for the amount of dogs in the city! It would also be great if there were some sort of facilities close by. The dogs can go wherever they want, but the poor humans cant!
Griffin disc golf course. Google maps didnt change the header. Red tees for beginner/intermediate players. Gold tees for advanced players. Course has two practice baskets for putting, one by parking lot and other by hole ones tee pad. 6 lettered holes (A Thru F) added since last year. Great compliment to the red tees on the course.
Good Clean Atmosphere andFriendly employees.
Teddy loves it here ️
Nice dog park with sections for both small and big dogs. There is running water for the dogs (seasonal). Sometimes is muddy after alot of rain. Park provides poop bags and disposal. Dogs that are unaltered are welcome as well. My only complaint is there are no restrooms for humans. So go before you arrive.
Love the energy of watching dogs and their packs.
Very neat experience & enjoyable for all
The park itself is always being improved which is great to see. Trees are being planted grass is always a challenge but its still a great place to take your dog. Im giving for stars not for the park but for the owners who dont understand how to monitor their dogs in a social situation and who may be more invested in what theyre doing then in keeping watch over their pup which often can lead to unnecessary aggression between the dogs. If youre going to go to the park be a good dog parent first and foremost.
Great open place to bring your dogs and burn some of their energy. The place is reasonably kept up. Some of the people are questionable thought. There is always THOSE people who bring their extremely disobedient dogs there and do nothing about it when they act up. Unfortunately this is the only place you can really let your dog run free in Norman to my knowledge. I still bring my dogs here often though.
This place is the best! Never seen any major altercations between dogs. Our dog loves to come here so much that we have to be careful saying “dog park” in normal conversation otherwise he goes straight for the door.
Great little park. Wish there was thicker grass. Some people let their dogs get a little aggressive but that’s not the city’s fault
I am a regular at the Norman Dog Park, our park is not as aesthetically pleasing as some of the other metro parks but the great sense of community between the dog parents makes it my favorite dog park in the metro. We have a HUGE group of dog park regulars who are working with the City of Norman to facilitate upcoming improvements to the park.We also have a Facebook group much like a forum that allow dog parents to share pictures, videos, funny stories, articles, suggestions and events that are doggy related.
The dogs are amazing. The worst part about this place are the dog owners. The regulars always have a clique and criticizes.
Decent size dog park with areas for small and large dogs. The park was clean and the dogs were all well behaved.
Such a nice group of dogs and people. We immediately felt welcome after arriving for the first time. The park is clean and water is provided.
Great place for dogs to be dogs, I go because Im lazy and dont want to walk my 2 fur babies. I love that they a divided area for smaller dogs 30lbs or less. Only problem is they turn off water during winter and it still isnt on, you have to bring water. The dogs get thirsty with all the running. Beautiful clean dog park, with other parks including frisbee next to it.
Not the best dog park, but its the only free one in Norman. You need to bring your own water as there are no faucets. Hardly anyone picks up their dogs poop. The perimeter shape allows dogs to get easily cornered which starts a lot of fights. Nobody pays attention to the weight limit, so there are constantly tiny dogs in the big dog area.
Great, no complaints from Toolie
Clean and had extra toys
My girls always leave worn out and ready to chill after a few hours here. It’s always clean, too!
Overall a good safe park.
Nicely kept, a lot of benches in the shade
Very nice dog park lots of grass
A place where my pups can stretch their legs and make new friends.
Love the play area for big and smaller dogs and they provide pools for those hot summer days and nights...faucet for fresh water with bowls provided. Come when its good for u and urs...i usually come around 7 am til whenever my furrbabies get tired lol. The dogs and owners are friendly and if an incidents does happen among dogs, owners are quick to despell... overall great place to take ur dogs
This is a great park! Two separate dog areas. People who come here tend to follow the rules and keep their dogs under control. If you get tired of watching your pet have all the fun, leash up and head down the paved walking trail past a lovely little lake or bring some discs for the awesome disc golf course. Be aware that this dog park asks us not to bring children into the dog area. Also, dont think that the disc golf course is an appropriate place for you to wander around with your pet... unless you are playing, of course. These guys are serious players, and a stray disc could cause you or your pet serious injury if you get in the way. There is an adjacent Sutton Wilderness Trail park for you to enjoy leisurely walks with your dog through the forest. BRING your bug spray in the spring/summer, because like anywhere in Oklahoma, the ticks and mosquitoes will be hungry for your blood!
Very nice, friendly, cute spot for people to go with their fire babies. Also a nice good size pond thats actually kinda pretty.
No much to do for smaller dogs but but they had a small couple pools and a supply of water and plenty of shade. Our dog loved it we will be back
For the most part the dogs are well behaved but if your dog is starting to be too much the other dogs will let it know. I gave 3 stars because this is the only dog park in Norman that I know of so theres not much to compare it to and it seems like pet owners dont pick up poop anymore. Its an okay place to go every once in a while if you dont want to take your dog on a long walk.
Owners don’t watch their own dogs. My puppy and I had to leave after 5 minutes because a woman’s super rough Rottweiler mix was bullying my dog incessantly. It wasn’t an all out fight but it was certainly going to lead to one. She even laughed as I left and told her dog; “that puppy doesn’t want to play like that.” She clearly saw nothing wrong with her dogs behavior which is very dangerous. Wish we had some type of warden who could have stepped in.
This is a fine dog park. Parking can be very rough when the adjacent park is being used for sporting events.Norman needs more than one fenced-in dog park for the entire city, and parking specifically for the dog park since most dog owners will have to drive here.
Really nice park and the people were very friendly. The only problem was all the poop! Somebodys not cleaning up after their dogs.
My dog always has the beat time running with his buddies at this park. The people seem great and dogs always kind. Once in awhile you get that dog or that owner but generally its nice and open. Only complaint is not everyone cleans after their pet.
Most of the time there are a lot of dogs so its always fun. Theres plenty of space for dogs to run all around and there are lots of bowls of fresh water and they currently have a little pool for dogs to play in. There could be more shade, and certain people could have better control of their pups. But very rarely do fights happen.
Its okay. It is a small park considering how big Norman is. The park could use some improvements in its care.
Love this dog park! It is very large. There is small dog side, for dogs under 30lbs. There is also a large dog side, for dogs over 30lbs. Pretty much all dogs hang out on the large dog side. That side is HUGE. there are two parts to it. A large fence runs down the middle, but there is a big opening to pass from one side to the next. There are a few shade trees with nice wooden swings on them, as well as benches to sit on.The park has stations with trash cans and bags for clean up. It also has a few tubes for playing or agility training. The people are typically very friendly, and so are their dogs. There are always tons of tennis balls lying around, and usually new ones stuck to the fence if needed. There are also plastic pools with hoses for the dogs to drink from or play in!
It was a really good time. And it was are 1st time to that dog park.
Nasty, No one picks up the poop. I had to watch my step and still managed to step on it. Moore dog park is so much better.
I really likes it.. huge running area.. plastic pools for dogs to cool off in. Drink water facet. Toys and poop bags provided. . More shaded areas needed..
This is s great place to take your dog to get exercise and socialize. Yes, there are some people who dont pick up their dogs poop, but it is had to keep up with them all the time. Most people are good about taking care of the dog. Lots of room. Take your Chuckit stick. The OU tennis team leaves their used balls for us to use.
Love this dog park!! Friendly people and dogs, toys, water, and lots of room for the dogs to run and play!
This is a nice place to take your dogs. Most of the patrons are responsible dog owners. There are a handful of people who dont know how to impose boundaries on their dog, but that is par for the course at any dog park. They take the nozzles off the water spigot in the winter so you would need to bring your own water then. The park usually is well supplied with plastic bags to pick up after your dog.
My dog loves that park where she can play and run around.
Well kept friendly people fun for you and your babies
Great place to take dog for social interaction with other dogs and humans. Wish there were more agility obstacles for fun but we mostly go there to see other dogs
A great place to take your pup. Smaller dog area is ideal for those under 30 lbs. Large areas with water dishes, swimming pools (summer), and toys. Volunteers are wonderful and make sure the place stays nice!
Nice little park, love taking my kiddo there. Not everyone picks up their dogs poop, so watch where you step. There are bowls and water provided, plenty of tennis balls. A lot of room to run in all of the areas. Areas for big dogs and little ones. A few benches to sit on. Ample parking. Nothing special but for what it is, its great.
Weve been probably 20 times, and have never had an overwhelmingly bad experience. People tend to take responsibility for their own dogs, which makes any dog park much more enjoyable.
Lots of space for dogs to run
It a nice place for the dogs to run and play but no restroom for those that live a distance from the park
Used to be a decent no-frills dog park until the “Norman Community Dog Park Association” got a hold of it. Recently the association has installed small, jagged boulders everywhere that pose a risk to the dogs. President of the association mocked my concerns. This dog park is maintained by the city of Norman, but a non-profit popped up because certain individuals wanted more control on money spent on the park. The city isn’t going to turn away free upgrades. Problem is you get stuff like jagged rocks to deal with a seating problem that isn’t there. Yes, they installed jagged boulders to provide more seating instead of buying benches. The park has more benches than any other dog park I’ve been to, which is quite a bit.The association started to give the community more ability to improve the park but has lately just been the decisions of a few people, who were not voted in, to represent the desires of the community. It’s a sham. Also, let’s talk about poop. There’s a lot of it. No one cleans up after their dogs.Aggressive dogs? Check! Regulars can get away with it too!
Great park lots of room for the dogs to run and enjoy themselves!
I take my dog here ever since he was a pup awesome people and lots of play room
Would be really nice place to let your dog run loose with other dogs, if some of the owners were more responsible. A lot of the owners dont clean up after their pets (even though disposable bags are provided), so in certain areas you have to watch your step. Winter time you have to bring water for your pets, bowls are provided. There are walking trails and a fishing pond. Great place in town to take long walks with your dogs. No people restrooms provided. Need another dog park on the SE side of Norman to accomodate all Norman residents or out at Lake Thunderbird.
People and dogs there are generally friendly, lots of space for dogs to run around. Good amount of shade and seating. Great park, however, the water/cleaning areas for the dogs are in a mudpit so be prepared for muddy paws in your car.
Lovely little park with more potential.
What a great place! Scooter loved it!
Not the best dog park. People dont pay attention to their own pets.
My dogs LOVE coming to this dog park, but there are some people here who should not bring their dogs because they are aggressive.I have seen some pretty bad fights between some dogs here.Thankfully everyone seems to leave unscathed
Love to take my dog here in the winter time where he can stretch his legs and meet other husky pups!
Mostly dirt in main area. Park smells and didnt care for people there. Just find better dog park or just a regular one that allows dogs.
Love the dog park!!! Weve made so many good friends, both two legged and four legged. Love walking the trails!
Great park with plenty of room for dogs to run and play.
Nice dog park also has a spot for fishing and a good walking trail
Awesome disc golf! Most holes have two tee pads. Recently added 5 extra holes.
Great closed in space for small and large dogs. They have water and poop bags onsite. Also a 2- 3 mile walk if you want to hit the trails.
Great! Just muddy
Needs running water and some work but its a great place to let your pups get some social time.
Great little dog park with benches and tress for humans.
Its okay but it would be nice if there were bags for the poop and a bit more things for the dogs to do. Unfortunately right now its more dirt than grass....
Great pace for the dogs
Large open areas for both large dogs and small dogs. Water and waste bags provided free. Could use more shade areas as some trees have died. Seldom see any aggressive dogs.
What a great dog park
Very spacious for dogs of all sizes, everyone is friendly, i love how theres lots different dogs that get along very cite, my dogs are loners tho lol or they wer scared n shy bit overall this is a great park for dogs to meet other doggys n they can play n be free especially if u live in a apartment you definitely take them here to stretch there legs
Very peaceful, Quiet, Uncrowded, and Clean!
Decent dog park. Need to watch out for people who bring untrained dogs though. I see a pretty brutal fight almost every time I go.
Its a great place to go fishn if they would get rid of the snakes & turtles..Jus sayn
Nice park with water for the dogs
Great place to take ur dog and play. Everyone is friendly and the dogs luv it. Beware of big dogs running lol.
I love it here so does my fur baby
Great place Louie enjoyed it very much.
Nice place to enjoy the day with your doggie
Alot of space, clean and very friendly pet parents!
Visited there from out of town this week. Pitiful excuse for a dog park. The area for small dogs is a fenced in area with a couple of trees, a couple of benches, and grass several inches taller than my dachshund. The area I saw for larger dogs was about the same, except about half of it was just dirt.
