The Wave Nightclub on Colley

If you haven’t been to the newly renovated Wave I would recommend doing so. It’s amazing. Drinks are still good but the facelift the place has received was a pleasant surprise.

Been here a few times over the years with different friends Ive always had a great time different days different themes good service nice dance floor and like I said depending on what day you go depends on whats going on two thumbs up five stars

This place is a North Colley staple and I’m happy to be their next door neighbor. The space inside is really cool with multiple bars. The owners are awesome. They have a lot of parking! I don’t know if they still do the drag brunch but when they do it is an absolute blast.

This place has really REALLY gone downhill I’ve been going since I was 18. They HAD the nicest people working there from the front doorman to everyone else (RIP Anne Marie who served me my first drink on my 21st birthday), they no longer have Tuesday Goth/New Wave nights or Thu 80s nights. The new staff is on a roid rage power trip and the place just has an institutionalized vibe. No wonder it’s dead all the time now.

This place was fun. I enjoyed knowing it was a safe place with all the security. We took our friend out for his birthday and enjoyed dancing on the main dance floor with the mirrors. The drink were well made but pricey.

There is plenty of parking nearby and they stay open until 3am. There’s multiple dance floors with different music, pool tables, etc. The main one has a huge wall mirror that is the biggest attraction. Love that there’s seating available and the cutest little food station. Only con is there seems to never be enough bartenders.

Some nights th DJ is on point with the music. Some nights he isn’t. Very diverse crowd. Drinks are reasonable. They have two dance floors, pool tables, and a smoking area. Great spot to go to just to get out the house and meet new people

Was there as a vendor and not a customer. The layout is interesting & offers some variety. Staff I interacted with were great. Bathrooms are...limited.

It’s never as busy as I would like and I feel like their drinks are WAYYYY too strong.I know my limit and somehow I always end up too drunk to function. I have no clue what they’re doing to their drinks here

Very disappointed is this location. Sexually assaulted. A Gentleman decided to stick his hand down my plants. When asking the front staff where to find security, we were laughed out of the bar after being physically and sexually asd assaulted. Those of high standing, or even who just prefer to be SAFE on their nights out as they spend money at a preferred location should look elsewhere.

Music was great, but little to no crowd. Drinks were just ok.

I went to the Wave every Tuesday when I lived in Chesapeake with my boyfriend and a bunch of friends. Now that Im in Arizona I miss the hell out of it. I met most of my very good friends going there and its hands down amazing. The fact that the smoking patio is usually full is a plus, and the music is right up my alley. The pool tables in the back are nice too. Its a great smaller bar to go to with friends, and youll meet people every night since its so inclusive. Oh, and the fact that its $5 entry if youre under 21 is a plus too for price (:

The club opens at 8p but people dont show up until around 10p. The music is good but its mostly for a young crowd.

I LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE AND THE MUSIC...I ALSO RECOMMENDED MY FRIENDS TO THIS CLUB...I WENT LAST NIGHT 6/16/2018 AND WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I ORDERED A MARGARITA AND NOTICED A FRUIT FLY AFTER TAKING A FEW SHIP...I TOOK IT BACK AND THE BARTENDER MADE ME ANOTHER ONE WITH A DIFF GLASS... GET BACK TO MY STOOL AND NOTICED ANOTHER ONE... MY WIFE TOOK IT BACK AND THE BARTENDER APOLOGIZED... WE WERENT THE ONLY ONES WHO NOTICED THOSE DAYUM FRUIT FLIES... OTHER PPL HAD THEM TOO... THE BARTENDERS DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM... THEY CONTINUED TO SELL DRINKS THE REST OF THE NIGHT!!! I THINK SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM

Me & my friends have come once before and it wasnt a very good time the music isnt that good and the staff is very rude. Tonight we decided to come again and we got kicked out because my friend who is 18 was holding a cup which isnt even true. They had no proof what so ever and the security was rude when we asked questions and proceeded to take pictures of us and say they were going to ban us. And when my friend proceeded to call they said they were gonna ban us if we dont end the call. We did nothing wrong, we were in there for 10 minutes, didnt get our money back or anything. Ill be sure to let everyone know I know not to come here and if I were you I wouldnt either considering they lie.

Good experience here, bartender was super energetic and fun she made me a drink that I didnt know I wanted, good ambience pretty good music to dance to, two rooms, pool tables, smoke area, everything was layed out well. It was crowded but the dance floor was nearly empty though! I had fun though I danced with a couple awesome strangers, good times! :)

Excellent place to have fun and great variety.

$6.75 for a very weak 8oz Vodka Cranberry after paying an $8.00 entrance fee was disappointing. Moreover, the music can best be described as marginal. I left after 30 minutes and have no plans of ever going back.

Love coming here on the weekends. Friday is foam night and Saturdays is saturgays so lgbt is big that night.

Fun at first, great music and events! But every toilet overflowed and it was DISGUSTING! Girls had to pee in a trash can or a urinal.

Went here with a friend for a good dance night. The bartender charged us 52 dollars for two drinks. My friend complained and be trying to not ruin anybodys night just paid for the two vodka sevens. When we returned to the bartender again my friend asked for no ice. I mean when you are paying 26 dollars for an aristocrat double vodka seven it better not have any ice right? The bartender proceeded to have us thrown out. We walked out, I didnt say anything. However, the next day I logged a complaint with their management team on their website about the way we were treated and that 52 dollars for two drinks is absolutely unheard of. Their response? They barred me for life. I tried to go there twice in the last six months and was denied entry both times. All because I disagreed with the price of a drink. Dont go here. Goto MJs tavern. Better drinks. Better bartenders. And they dont illegally store your identification information in their computer system.

We just moved to Virginia and this is the first club we have been to. The air conditioning was broken, the glasses were dirty, and the bottled beers were hot. The side bar where theres a lady bartender was the only half decent spot and thats because of her being nice and friendly. We were only in for 25 minutes and we wanted our money back but the guy checking in started smarting off and said, that we were not entitled to our money back and when my boyfriend told him he was going to call the manager he replied, thats your prerogative. This has been the worst club we have ever been to. If you dont mind unfriendly staff, hot drinks, dirty glasses, old and run down settings, this is your dream vacation but..... Dont waste your time.

Ive only gone there during late nights and the music sucked. I thought there was gonna be dance music, like regular radio music but NO it was rap and hip hop all night long, i have to say the Dj sucked. Dont plan on going back there ever

Used to be the best gay bar in norfolk. After living in sd for years now.. I come back and it is still the same... fun loud strong drinks... but enough with the smoking... make them a separate patio

Small dance floors, young drunk and immature, music okay for the young, broken bathroom, out of toilet paper. Drinks very expensive, Gin and ginger ale cost $8.75 thats too much for a drink could get my own bottle and food for the cost of two drinks. $7.00 for admission. Need a untarage to come it would be more fun. It could be better with improvements for what they charge they make enough.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!!My first visit here and my last, a groupon ticket was purchased for $39, the waitress stated that it only was a discount but according to my Groupon everything was included in the brunch besides alcoholic drinks, Gratuity and taxes were ridiculously overpriced and my sister and I ended up paying $51 for 2 drinks that was $7.75....I was VERY UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED!!!! ... There was no show as a drag brunch should be, they are ripping people off, bathrooms are nasty, filthy, and run-down for what theyre charging people they need to fix the place up!!!! ..... DEFINITELY WILL NOT GO BACK THERE!!!!!

Went here with my wife cause she is into Rue Paul and stuff and they had a Groupon. But both ended up really disappointed. Everything is way overpriced and they charged my credit card for double what I signed for so I had to dispute it with my bank as fraud. The drag me to brunch is just a bunch of nasty rice crispy treats and biscuits. The drag queens are just some dudes in wedding dresses or panties that walk around asking for money. There is no singing or show. It was simply uncomfortable and sad to watch.

FoamFest is awesome! You hear about the foam parties on Facebook, but they are amazing!

The bartender gave me someone elses tab, then transferred all those drinks to my tab and swipped my card before even giving us a tab. He then yelled in our faces. They also lost my ID. Dont start a tab here!!! Very unorganized.

Hi everybody! I am from Spain and my English is not really good yet, so Im very sorry if for you guys is a little bit difficult to understand, Im going to explain myself as good as I can. Okay, here I go. I went to Wave with a couple friends about 5-6 friends, they charge us 7$ each to go in, but we didnt care, we just wanted to have fun, drink and dance. We ordered 2 Jagger bombs and 1 rhum and Coke with a tequila shot. Okay, so the bad tender gave us 3 Jagger bombs, 2 rhum and cokes, and 3 tequila shots. My friend ordered the drinks who is from the US so I guarantee she understood well everything. We tried to explain to her that we didnt want to drink that much, but she was screaming and being very very very mean and rud to us. After telling her that we didnt want the drinks, she said that we have to pay 50 bucks plus tip. My friend paid it just to stop arguing with her and just have fun. So, listen to this carefully! AS SOON AS MY FRIEND SIGNED THE PAPER SHE LOOKED AT US AND SAY, YOU, YOU AND YOU GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW. SHE CALLED THE BOUNZER OUTSIDE SAYING THAT WE WERE BEING AGRESSIVE WITH HER!!!!!I know that you guys dont know me, but I would never be AGRESSIVE just because a bad tender put me the wrong drinks. Anyways, we called the police and they could not resolve anything... But please guys, be careful ordering your drinks in this place!!!! Thanks for reading

This club is all about clicks and who you know in virgina the peninsula . But if you have good friends and Know how to ingnor the rude people you should have fun. I wouldnt go alone here for that reason. Theres only one good dance floor the one you have fun on. Buble night is the best night becuase everyone just want to have their fun. But i would rather have a good house party knowing im in good company than to have people angry at me for just being there. Its fun but i didnt like the atmoshpere.

The plumming needs to be addressed and a permanent fix needs to be made. If you are a woman, plan to not be able to use a functional toilet while you are there.

Im not understanding why there isnt any toilets for you if you have a movement and why both DJs was playing the samething on both dance floors. Why one floor couldnt be hip-hop/vouge and the other tech/rock....
