Fantastic walk its small and those who dont walk well can come and enjoy the view. Also there is a statue of the Marines 1st 1st 1st batallion honoring them. Its a gorgeous bronze statue with a mirrored background. Lots of people come during holidays but its too crowded.Extremely well done and the city really does a great job maintaining the park. Enjoy the view and take a breath of fresh air. There are lots of coyote brush and other natural California plants surrounding the park. Great place to take kids as well
Cool spot to park and launch your kayak or paddle board. No paid parking which is cool !!! Has a nice little shoreline to get some fishing in too.
This was an amazing place with a beautiful view. We went on a very cloudy day, so it was perfect for moody photography. I snapped this photo of one of the houses because I loved the style. There are so many plants in the area, which I loved. It really made me feel close to mother nature in the middle of a concrete jungle.- Allyson DeFoorEditor in Chief, V Travel Magazine (@vtravelmag)
Easy spot to reach the bay for small launches. Not much there but an outhouse.
Spectacular views and very well taken care of.
CastAways park has a really long paved walk along the cliff. There’s a really cool war memorial up on along the of the cliffs. I decided on coming here in the early am at around 8am’ish. Not only did I find a good place to run, I also found somewhere to watch people rowe and even do some canoe fishing. Just a great spot to park and send a couple of emails before getting casting a few. Look forward to taking an early day from work to come here.
Really beautiful walk - wish there was some grass for dogs, but unparalleled views.
Beautiful vistas and cool breeze from air being cooled over back bay.
The most beautiful, perfect spot to enjoy the weather and views!!
Great walkways and amazing views
Quiet with awesome views. Great for locals and tourists alike. Welcoming to walkers, joggers, and bikers.
Calm and beautiful place I like it!!
Always a pleasure walking along this trail. The view is amazing.
Great views has to be this parks best feature.
Great walk, perfect for kids to ride bikes and skooters.
Great view and walk.
The views of the bay are beautiful. The pathed walking trail is easy for younger kids and bikers etc.
A perfect place to go for a walk, take the kids, walk the dog or ride a bike. There is a path with views of the Back Bay and the Upper Newport Bay and even views of the Balboa Peninsula and the ocean. Theres a free parking lot next to the church.
Beautiful view of the harbor!
Beautiful views and a wonderful memorial. Come to Field of Honor weekend and there are 1776 flags placed along all the walk/bike ways. Stunning!
Amazing...if you a breathing today...dont complain about anything!
Good place to go, and pretty views.

Love this park. Great viewing and very nice trails for walking
Love the views!!! Great path to walk or ride your bike too
Sick photo ops with nice path to bike or jog.
Amazing views!
Great views of the bay! Walking, trail also paved for bike riding.
What a beautiful place to walk with awesome views
This park is a monument to fallen marines heros. Its a steep incline walk up to the park but once up there its level. You walk along the back bay at an elevated view. The views are gorgous as you are walking. There is also a water fountain in the park too.
Perfect for outdoor walking. Great view of the Pacific also great view for sunset watching. Great place for dog walking.
I love the views from this park
I been going to this park for 18 yrs and its beautiful. The views are breathing taking and just in your back yard.
Nice, quiet park with exceptional views. Some benches around, but no picnic tables or open spaces for recreation. This park is for sitting, walking, running, or riding your bike around the Back Bay. You can actually make it all the way around, but you will need to ride through a neighborhood for part of the way.
Anyone and everyone should visit this park. It has true American Spirit and I wont say more than that youll have to see for yourself. It also has some of the most magnificent breathtaking views a perfect circuit for anyone who wants to walk jog or just take a stroll. Its one of my favorite in the top 5 places to go particularly in the category of parks and its well-maintained perfect for kids just as long as they dont expect to go on swings and run nuts this is a park for walking talking jogging sightseeing its not an active Park per se for little children.
Small but nice
Very nice improved trails, clean
Great views watch for bikes going way to fast in walkways
Nice paths to Cliff over looking the Newport Bay
Beautiful monument and very soul searching.
A beautiful place to think about life!!
A really nice urban park with expansive views of the surrounding Newport Harbor and Bay areas. There are several acres of chapparal punctuated by paved and unpaved paths, giving one an idea of what it was like 30 years ago before adjacent areas got developed. Great for biking, which is how I first experienced it on a beautiful Saturday morning. I also took in the Newport Beach Parade of Lights and fireworks show from an overlook here to avoid the crowds, which proved to be a good spot for this.
Its a nice walk and great view
The parking is plentiful. Wheelchair friendly paths, pet friendly too. Vistas on this clear day provided excellent photography opportunities. Park benches and landscaping lent to reflective quiet relaxation.
Good for little ones. Not a lot of playground equipment.
Very beautiful view from the park
Beautiful clean park that is dog friendly and has spectacular views of the harbor!
First time visiting FIELD OF HONORs awesome display of 1776 US flags honoring the men and women of our military.
Its good for a small bike ride. I like looking at the interesting plants.
Amazing little park that is a perfect destination for a bike ride and is very nice to walk in. Incredible views of Newport Back Bay, and some neat native plants. Be sure to head to the South Eastern point of the park (where the statue is) for an incredible view of both Back Bay and Newport Harbor.
The flags are awesome but takeing them down took so long
Beautiful place with some of the best views on the bay.Especially stunning at night.Lots of really good places to eat all over the area.
Very clean
Great place to hike!
I came to pick up a young lady for long trip to downtown Los Angeles. She went back into house to get iPhone charger & cancelled ride. That was rude of her.
Great views
My family came here for the flags on Memorial Day. It was a lovely tribute to so many men and women who served and gave their lives for our country.
Having a wonderful event this weekend. Field of Honor, flying 1776 American flag Honoring the our Veterans & military personnel.
It has a great scenery.
Beautiful, great place to take a walk.
I have loved this little park since 1999. A great place for a strole.
Small, nice park. Paved paths for riding and running, overlooking bay. Nice, shady grass area for picnic.
**disclaimer** my review of this park only accounts for a quick pokestop run after the sun had set.Wildlife: There were rabbits roaming about at night. The sound of crickets and other creepy crawlers was apparent and added a comfortable vibe to the place.Scenery: Even at night, the park has some pretty great view points. Unfortunately I cannot leave images as of right now, but I shall update this review as soon as I visit again.Safety: The park did seem a bit unsettling at first, the fact I visited at night doesnt help it one bit, but after walking around a little bit that feeling wore off. Some people were visiting around the same time, but in the end it felt safe.Services: I did not make it a goal to find any amenities like a bathroom or anything of the sorts. Though I will update the matter next time I visit.Pokestops: 8 of them that are relatively close to each other.Castaways Park looks to be more of a wildlife reserve in which you can take a paved path that leads you to a great vista. I highly recommend you visit.
This park is alright. Its mainly a stroll on the bluffs of Newport Beach, it is about 1-2 miles all around. Very easy unless you go down and up hill on the side of Dover Rd. Very scenic route/pathway.
Beautiful and relaxing place!!!
Nice place where short hike and good views
Beautiful!
Love this park. beautiful harbor views with a nice walkway along the cliffs. great place to catch a sunrise or sunset.

Great place for a run, jog or walk. Watch the beautiful sunset over Newport Harbor
This is a great walking, jogging, show off to family/friends location! It has a great evening view of the Newport bay, buildings in fashion island, and the nice homes next to it.
Pretty primitive but nice place to launch a kayak
