This park is really high in biodiversity, including both plant and animal biodiveristy. I love it for birdwatching, and I have also used it as a seed source for ecological restoration projects, and inspiration for my plant website, bplant.org. There is an extensive wetland as well as several sections of mature floodplain forest. The park also spans two different soil types, and it is fascinating to see the differences in flora in the different areas of the park.
Wide open space, with very few visitors except dog walkers. Newarks hidden gem...
Nice little trail. Walk my dog often.
Great park with basketball court and play ground but no shade from the sun...
The skatepark, tennis courts, playground, and basketball courts are great and there used to be so many people there every night. Besides the fact that the city of newark took away the picnic table, trash can, and the timer for the lights is constantly messed up its a great park
A great first park. Two small play structures are just routine, but it also has a section with some sculptures to climb on (porpoise, turtle, and some more abstract ones), a boardwalk over the wetland that is astonshingly beautiful at some times of year, and another bridge over a creek that frequently has frogs to view. Closer to the parking lot theres a small path thru the woods with some short bridges, plus tennis courts, basketball courts, skate parks, and a port-o-potty.
Good to see it cleaned up . Is security good.
Nice open space and playground for kids, a well shaded picnic table, walking paths through the trees, occasional trains passing by. nice place to start off the weekend and within walking distance too.
Nice quite place for your kids
Great park in Newark that is along the James Hall Trail. Has free parking. Skate area, tennis courts, and has play area that is nice.
Clean and well kept. Great place to bring the family. Tennis, basketball, small skate park, playground, and plenty of grass to have fun on.
Nice trails around the park, and plenty of places to run. However, there is really only one playground structure for kids to play on. They do have a covered area and picnic tables nearby though.
Quiet park. Skatepark and playground, also good for pokemon go
A nice place to start the James F. Hall trail.
Nice small park with a few playgrounds, tennis/basketball courts and a small skatepark.
Beautiful park with areas for children and athletes cyclists and nature lovers
Quaint spot to chill and hang out
