It is a nice but small museum attached to the Prudential Center. The kids loved the hands on experiences with the instrumentals and the microphones. The displays are cool and seeing the history of music is always fun. You will not spend more than 45 minutes here. Parking can be a pain. Sunday’s are apparently are great day to go as street parking is free (check signs first to confirm and there is no event at the prudential) and there were only 2 other people in the museum.
I went here two years ago. I recommend bringing your children here if they are interested in arts, music, and entertainment. I found out a lot of new music there and I enjoyed making some music there with my friends.
From the moment you start, you feel transported into another world. There are some incredible costumes and commentary about some of musics biggest names from Aretha to Michael to Whitney. Speaking of Whitney, this was an ABSOLUTE highlight of the museum. There was an exclusive area dedicated to the life and music of Ms. Houston as Newark is her hometown. It is so beautifully done, showcasing her rise from model to powerhouse musician. It is completely interactive and you feel catapulted back in time as you sing along and reminisce on the memories connected to your favorite Nippy songs. Without question, the Grammy Museum in Newark is a must visit if you are in the area. If you love the magic of music, you will not be disappointed!
Went with a date. Really just wanted to see the Whitney exhibit, which didnt disappoint. However, didnt expect to be able to play various instruments (with headphones) and have a karaoke session! So fun. I wish the piano had worked though. Also great seeing how the Grammy award design changed throughout the years, and getting fun fact about my favorite singers and songs.
No words. Feelings only. A very educational and great place. Recommend!
Its a really nice place to check out. I work there at the Prudential Center so Im in and out of there all the time. Is very nice and you will enjoy yourself.
It was great! I went with my mom and my 2 little brothers, we all had a very good time. Its very interesting and fun for both adults and kids. I personally loved it!
Decided to go late afternoon Saturday of Memorial Day week-end -its a small museum but packed with information -since /i am Jersey and specifically Brick City (Newark) I thought it important to visit, It wasnt what I thought but it wasnt disappointing - opportunities for movies/videos interactions, simulations and karaoke ( I sang lead on Hit the Road Jack ) and there is Whitney - lots of Whitney fitting for the Newark icon . There were very few people making all exhibits fully accessible and we spent about hour and a half in this reasonably priced venue -which we felt was worth it
It was incredible. I had such an amazing time. Great wealth of knowledge. The Whitney Houston exhibit is great. Good information about New Jersey talent.
Beautiful place to visit
Took our middle school students here for a field trip. This museum is on the small side but engaging and interactive. Our group had a great time!
This was a cool experience. There were lots of interactive musical toys to play with and lots of photo ops. The staff were really nice too. Definitely check it out, its a fun thing to do for the family for an inexpensive price.
This place is amazing. Lots of memorabilia and informative displays
Great experience. You see a lot of history and NJ natives that have made it big time in music.
The grammy museum experience was a beautiful display if you loved Whitney Houston especially. My daughter loves Whitney so I found out about it and brought her there its right in the Prudential center in Newark New Jersey we were able to park on the street and we went during the day on a Friday and it was very quiet so she got to try all different types of musical instruments she got to sing in a microphone To Ray Charles she got to see a whole wardrobe of Whitney Houston and also a bunch of other New Jersey Musicians stories and Such. They had a small gift shop with tshirts. The staff was pleasant and it was kept very clean.
Jazz, rock, soul, country, all under one great roof! Bravo!
Amazing! Its worth the price and experience!
Its was very informative... Im pretty sure you would definitely have that I didnt know that moment.
I enjoyed to short clips and the detail on the jersey artist.
Great for the family to see this amazing exhibit of Grammy history. Let the kids act out their wildest music dreams while they are there.
Cool interactive museum experience. There are plenty of items to see for adults and kids. I liked getting behind the drums and piano that they let you play. It’s not very large so I would say it’s about 30-60 minutes worth of a visit. Great for music lovers that have watched the Grammys over the years.
Wonderful museum full of amazing pieces
DO NOT!!!! go to this place it’s a scam the staff is complete trash and unprofessional if I wasn’t so angry and had so much to close I would have cussed every person in there out thank GOD I know how to contain myself. JUST AWFUL VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE.

Awesome. Was going to Prudential to see SWV BabyFace and Toni. They were hosting a pre show party. One comp drink (your choices.were beer or wine. A little disappointing) however we did Karoke the host was delightful. The exhibits were phenomenal. There was a large one of Whitney. Nice place to start a great evening.
