I absolutely love this place. First of all, its really big. There are so many great choices of places to spend your time. If youre looking for a place to take a long run or bike ride, youre going to love it. You can ride or run for a loooooong time without covering the same ground. Secondly, it has everything you could ask for in terms of a day at the park. Baseball fields, tennis courts, bike paths, picnic areas, shady hillsides, soccer fields, nature trails, gardens, fishing, and more. Parking isnt a problem at all because there are lots all over the island. Just a perfect escape.

It was magical and beautiful if the two words can be used together!!!I loved every bit of it. When you go in, dont be in a hurry to walk. Savour the moment. Youll be glad you did. Take pictures, do a bit of video. Have fun, laugh and marvel at creativity!!! You will love every bit of it.

Take your bike for a better experience around the island. The JFK bridge gives all the features to enjoy your ride even when it comes to staircases. From 102nd street in Manhattan to Astoria Park, you better take a whole day to explore this part of city

This is a small island on the upper east side of Manhattan. You may enter through East 124 street and 2 ave or by East 106 and the FDR drive. I love Randalls Island because is very peaceful, clean and very safe. You can have BBQ or picnic by the grass. There are private tenis court. Many open the the public baseball ️ fields and a few soccer ️ fields. The views to either Queens, Manhattan or the Bronx are great for pictures taking. You will want to keep coming back to this place and if you bike you will love ️ it even more.

Randalls Island is an oasis in the desert. I should be keeping this little secret to myself but its to beautiful not to share. Go and enjoy the quiet part of Manhattan. Dont forget you have to pay the RFK toll going and coming theres no way around that.

Its a beautiful park, just wished there were clearer signs to ride inside the park where the plants and the horses are to be able to see all the beauty. It gets a little confusing because theres a parking lot and then a bridge. If you know you know. Its also cool because the view is amazing and you can even cross over to ride into Manhattan. Also, right before you cross the bridge to Manhattan there are tools that are stuck to like a post that you can use to repair your bike if you need ! You can also ride into queens the possibilities are endless!

Cant say I held out a lot of hope for this lot. But it was all it was supposed to be. I was curious how the whole thing was going to be as I had been thinking about it for awhile. Turns out it was enough for a quick park while at the ballpark.

Great urban walk, worth the toll. The island could use a bit better signage on the trails, but we managed to find everything. If you are looking for the wetlands (which you definitely should check out) put Field #29 in your GPS.

Decided to visit Randall’s Island as a getaway from the urban jungle. It’s easy to get to by either biking or walking (take either the 103rd St or 125th St bridge over). The bridges definitely need stricter enforcement and patrol. There was poop all over the walkway leading to the island, it was disgusting. How was no one able to see someone pooping, there’s literally NYS cops on the bridge itself. Is no one doing their jobs? And bicyclists ride like crazy on the bridge, even though it says to walk your bike. Saw someone almost knock a kid because he was going so fast on the bridge. Looks like the park listened and added maps all across the island so you can tell where you’re going. Honestly, there really wasn’t much here to see. It’s just fields after fields and some “gardens”, which are overgrown with weed and in disrepair. Only good place was the marsh area (again, bicyclists breezing through the bridge almost hitting people as they’re reading the info plaques). Transportation on the island is bad too. The bus hardly ever comes, no Citibike docks. Bathrooms were gross, poss and poop everywhere. No public WiFi, nowhere to buy food. Only good part I enjoyed was the pathway under the Hell Gate train bridge, which creates a tunnel effect. It definitely doesn’t feel safe at some spots. They def need to step up patrols and make sure people are following the rules. I would rather go to Central Park or Prospect Park. This isn’t really worth it.

Randalls Island Park is an oasis in the middle of three boroughs of New York City: Queens, The Bronx, and Manhattan. There are many running trails scattered throughout the island, and the views of Manhattan are stellar. Highly recommend a visit-- you can take the M35 bus from E 125 St / Lex Ave in Manhattan to get there!

This specific spot is big. Jot recommended for sunny days unless you are sun bathing or you have a cover for the sun, it tends to be a little windy sue to the closeness to the river and little to no protection from it, that also brings space for a great view. Nice spot for group activities, if picnic is the idea, I recommend you to find a a spot under the cover of those pretty trees, nice grass, cut frequently. Have a good time. Blessings.

I come here for the Frieze Art Fair and it is a glorious location. When the weather is great it’s fabulous to arrive by ferry. The fair is always interesting with great art and people watching. Who knew!? Looking for something different for our Manhattan bike ride, we did Randalls Island. Ive lived here for 20 years, but Ive never seen any more than you can see from the RFK bridge at 50 mph. hahaWhat a wonderful surprise. Beautiful baseball fields (and, ugh, soccer), greenways with abundance of flowers, concessions, fantastic picnic areas with city views . . . really really nice and well-maintained park. Even better, it seemed like mostly families and middle aged couples - everything very civil, no boom boxes blasting. This is a great extension of any East side Manhattan bike ride. Just about 4 mi or so all the way around.READ IF YOURE COMING FORM EAST SIDE PATHWAY - if youre doing this on a bike or even walking on the Harlem/East River paths, use the footbridge at 102nd vs going up to the RFK bridge area. You can get there. Our workers paradise East Side . . . the path has crumbled. Rather than fix it, theres just a blockade.

Went here for the Luminocity festival going on right now until January. The light sets are stunning and you will get lost in all the wonder, you are close to the river so definitely wear some warm clothes. You can check them out @luminocityfestival there is a place to warm up and food trucks to get something to eat, just remember that your on a island so be prepared to pay a little extra for the food.

A lot of greens for you to roam, but you do have to be aware of your surroundings as southern tip of the island houses a psychiatric ward. Also, if you are traveling by car, you must pay a one way toll to enter the island (but not to leave). During the summer, you know you are on the Island when you get a sniff of that wonderful aroma of raw sewage.

I went to the illuminocity festival. The festival itself was beautiful but the weather was freezing especially having to stand in a line for 2+ hours took away from the even as everyone was frozen and they only had one heating station for attendees at the end of the field. It could have been planned better as organizers knew it was an outdoor venue and charged attendees too much to freeze them. Tickets, no proper signage of where to go in the island to get to the event, cold, soggy muddy grounds and tolls took away from the festival for certain.

Although it was mad hot and I strongly recommend to bring a refillable water bottle (they have free water bottle refills) it was still amazing. Randalls island is fairly easy to get to because a ferry isn’t required. Bus, car, walking or biking or options to get there from harlem or the bronx. I go here every year for ezoo which is great in the sense of commute however it is dirty nast turf/grass chemical dirt becauseof the sewage location on the island. If it rains during or before the day you go, good luck with the mudslide. They need to renovation the grass with concrete or better turf without the mud.

There were food trucks towards the back and a tent with a DJ pumping the jams, food and non-food vendors. If you did not want the food inside, which was honestly a little overpriced for me, you could always take a short drive or the M35 bus to the many restaurants in East Harlem. Been coming to this Festival The Last couple Years and I have a blast every time. The organizers do a great job with the DJ selection, the vendors, security, and utilizing the space that they have. However it would be nice if they could spread out the stages a little bit more so the sound doesnt bleed into one another. Its a 3 day event and I think all 3 days is a perfect amount of time to get as much entertainment in for whats being offered here. The wide variety of food they offer is amazing from vegan options to meat eaters they seem to have everything covered. I deducted a star for the outrageous prices they charge for admission and food. Two cocktails were $36 and they were in small plastic cups loaded with ice. I had asked for no ice one time and they said that its something they could not do unless they only fill it up half. I thought that was super tacky. For the amount of money were spending on admission which was a little over $600 for 2 adults/3 days they should have been a little bit more generous with food and drink prices. Although the festival was totally worth it where its only a yearly event. Not sure if I would attend again next year where this year was the 10-year anniversary. Ill probably explore other festivals but its definitely something everyone should experience at least once.
