Such a touching memorial to the lives lost, the terror attacks, the first responders and survivors of September 11th. It is at this pool that you understand the size of these buildings and impact they made when the fell. I recommend just standing quietly and have some time for introspection. It can be very quiet here and should be so please be respectful as you visit.

There is no direct entry to the pools anymore. You have to go through a zigzag of barricades before reaching anyone of them. Entry and exit signs are not visible upfront and there are very few people to assist. I paid my respects to the people here at the pools many times before, and I always believed that if there was a higher ground to some how see the pools in there entirety it would explain the true scale of the hole which was left in peoples hearts.

To be honest, I didnt love going here but it is a place you should visit at least once. The sadness is tangible and the parts of the building that have been salvaged are phenomenal. From the personal stories of those that watched it all unfold to the voice overs of the families that lost loved ones with the last post playing in the background, is completely heartbreaking.I, personally went in not knowing what to expect, sombre tbh and I left, visibly shaken and upset. We need to never forget that dreadful day and the lives that were lost because of it

Sadly I never got to see the beautiful twin towers in person, so the pools were as close as I could get to experiencing them. The pools are massive, which sort of gives you an idea on how massive those towers were, which makes it even harder to understand what happened there in 2001, simply terrible. The silence there with the water sounds beautifully adds to the memorial atmosphere. It’s a place to think about the devastating events and simply to remember and to pay respect to those, who lost their lifes. Definitely worth a visit.

It was here that it hit me that this was the exact place the South Tower once stood - and collapsed. Very unreal. You have to experience it to understand. I wanted to go to the museum, but my g/f wouldn’t go. I will definitely go see the museum next time I am there. I am grateful for the opportunity to visit this place and remember.

Truly this was awesome. It made me remember what I was doing when we were attacked. There was a film showing the president and others giving details about the affects of this event. Also, every Tuesdays its free admission. The let the long lines discourage you because it moves fast. The admission fee is $26.00, if a senior you get a discount at the window. Do not get your ticket from outside vendors because they charge more and no discount. Military get discounts with ID. Enjoy

So sobering to witness first hand all of the names of those that lost their lives that fateful day. They should not be forgotten and this memorial helps ensure their lasting legacy. Seeing how many selfless first responders gave their lives trying to save others gives me pause and much gratefulness for their service. Also very touching that the lost have their birthdays remembered as well.

Amazing amazing experience. It’s free to visit this area and I absolutely recommend going here. The sound of the water from the pools frowns out the sounds from the crowds of people who visit, creating a peaceful reflective feel to the area. There are police patrolling there area which makes it feel safe. It’s very humbling to see the footprints of the towers and the names of all the people who died in the attack. There are roses that they put in the names, I believe for when it is their birthday. Very emotional. A must see.

This is the most impressive place in New York City. When in NY you must visit the memorial and museum. We bought our tickets at the ATM en could enter immediately after security check. Its big, really big, so take your time to let it all in. Its a respectfull museum and memorial. People who visit are very quiet. There is a special area where its forbidden to take pictures or make videos.I was quite emotional and really took me back to 9/11 2001. We visited this together with the One World Center Observatory. A stunning reminder of the atrocities carried out on September 11 and of the undeniably bravery of those rescue personnel who gave their lives to help rescue over 15,000 people from the twin towers and as a beautiful tribute to the 2000+ victims of the terrorist attack. If you can visit the exhibition bellow, it is pricey at $26 each for a ticket but it is definitely worth a visit.

The museum was very well done and it serves as a reminder what can happen here at homeMore importantly I saw people younger than I who werent alive or very young when this occurred. The look and their emotions were so different than mine. It was they had heard about the events but until they saw the news reals, voice messages from those trapped it wasnt real.

Human hearts are desperately wicked, who can search it out. This memorial place, the 9-11 ground zero reminds us of the wickedness in the hearts of men but better still the power of love in us all. Love is bigger and stronger than the faint glimpses of hate. A place to be; a location to rekindle the love for human race; a place to reflect and be inspire to leave this space better than how you met it. Never again! We all have it in us - kindness.

Every American needs to visit this memorial any time they are near New York City. We drove from Boston to see it. This was our first time to see it. We have not been since 2009, when ground zero was still just a giant hole in the ground. The museum told the whole story and was beautiful. The facilities are unbelievable and awe inspiring. Memories came back that we did not even know we had, of friends and associates that worked at ground zero in the aftermath, and ones that were in the city that day, and all of us that felt, we were there and it happened to all of us.

The reflecting pools, meant to be the inverse of the old towers, are...well, there’s no ‘there’ there. You cannot see the other pool (tower footprint), so these features are just ok. Best to be there very early in the day before the rude tourists arrive thinking this whole area is an amusement park like the Seaport...it’s not.Btw, go check out the lobby of 4 WTC...it’s shown in my pic...a beauty of a panorama.
