Easy access to and from Roosevelt Island either by car or by foot or by bicycle.
Its a new world in NYC to visit
Theres a bike lane on either side of the bridge. The bridge deck itself is a bit bumpy so ride carefully.
Bad experience. Never want to go BacK.
Place to meditate, think, gather strength for those that can not live without trying to get a bit of nature in their lives. There are places you can gaze at the water or skyline think about lost loves, wishes, dreams. Best time late at night 12 and after AM, less traffic and it is a beautiful view.
Unlike all of the other 11 bridges, you can get your photos taken here, your thinking done here, & night time scenery from both directions.Roosevelt Island doesnt see that many wheels. Just like the Island itself, it does get deserted at Dusk. Its an older bridge with the automatic rise. Be off of it when they tell you to.
Romantic place to walk with your significant other.
Really nice at night time you see buses going over there cars biles and people going on the big glide reminds me of spider man. takes about 15 minutes to walk
Easy access to Roosevelt Island with sidewalk for pedestrians and two dedicated bike lines on both sides of road
Our secret place in NYC. Quiet and peaceful
Only bridge in America that supports electric lines underneath it.... true story
Nice area, coffee, sushi and pizza excellent view of the east side of Manhattan
In the middle of everything
One of my favorite water view in nyc
On my bike, this has to be one of the longest bike commutes in the city. Pace yourself, the incline is steep on the Manhattan side. Its a bit confusing where to jump on the bridge on the Manhattan side, but it offers great views to Roosevelt Island.
Bridge is for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Allows access to Motorgate Garage and to Roosevelt Island
It gets me on and off the island by vehicle!
It serves its intended purpose as a bridge, but is a little unattractive. The bridge could use a new paint job and new signage to make it look more attractive perhaps.
Difficult to find by signs. Best to use GPS to not get lost. Its across from a Greek restaurant and a Jamaican restaurant
Amazing
The best way to walk to Roosevelt Island
Full metal bridge. I always wondered how cars & trucks got onto the island and off. This bridge answered my question. To me it is a bit secretive because I feel no ones really knows about this bridge except those who live on the island. The bridge takes you into Queens onto Vernon Blvd which looks deserted except for the cars passing by.
Its certainly not the most popular bridge to walk on while in NY but it should be part of your out of the beaten track route. Views on the building estates on Roosevelt island and the Ravenswood power station with a strong industrial flavour.
No place like home
Let me walk across, no trolls.
Nice walk into Queens
Cool place
Trip
Old-school drawbridge.
You can walk on it
I like to make a pictures from this bridge.
